Lockdown Losing Matches

Recommended Posts

"We're moving right along at full speed on this edition of Lockdown!" Comet calls to the crowd. "Coming up next, we have another match in the Cold Front Classic tournament, and it's a Semi-Final bout!"

"And I have been looking forward to this match for a good while now, Comet. Even while eating Thanksgiving dinner, I was waiting for the chance...waiting to see Max King ONCE AGAIN prove just how great he is in the ring." Riley states.

"Well, it's not going to be THAT easy, Riley. He's going up against a former World Champion in Sacred, and that's going to be a very tough challenge for ANYONE. Especially due to the fact that neither competitor in this contest knows exactly what the rules for this contest are!"

Riley sighs. "Secret Santa rules...what the hell was the booking committee thinking when they made this up?"

"They were thinking of giving the fans a special treat, Riley." Comet states. "Let's get to the ring...apparently Kelly is there now..."

The camera cuts over to the ring now, where indeed Kelly Connelly is standing there, in somewhat of holiday spirit as she's wearing a red and white business suit tonight. "You know, I know that the Higher Ups here in SWF want to do screw Max over by not telling him the rules of the match that he's about to have here tonight, hoping in some vain possibility that he's going to be eliminated from the contest tonight. Well let me tell you something right now, King isn't about to just lay down and let everyone walk over him. So let me introduce you to the man that will win this tournament, as well as go on to our X-Mas PPV to face the World Champion...the one...the only..."THE ICON"...MAX...KING!"

*BOOOM!*

"Superstar" starts up playing again, and out comes Max King, looking a bit angry at the fact that he has no idea what the match is going to be. He marches to the ring with a purpose, not even letting himself act in his normal arrogant manner.

"King doesn't look himself today, Riley." Comet notes. "In fact, it almost looks like he's got something serious wrong with him."

"Well, how would you deal with this situation, Comet?" Riley asks. "He's dealing with this that very nicely all things considered."

King walks to the ring very quickly, even surprising Kelly by getting into the ring without wanting her to hold the ropes for him. King grabs the microphone from Kelly really quickly.

"I'm going to say this once...EAW Offices...you better get used to what's going to happen tonight...because I'm going to get the win tonight and I WILL be your new World Champion! Now get that damn has-been out here so I can get my win!" King demands!

"YES! That's the way to tell them, King!" Riley calls out. "I have even more respect for King than before now!"

After a few moments of time, the monitor starts to flicker and become fuzzy, as the voice of the next competitor cues up over the speakers

"There is nothing wrong with your television set.“

“Do not attempt to adjust the picture."

“We will control the horizontal.”

“We will control the vertical.”

“We are controlling transmission...."

As the pictures return to normal and the lights dim to near darkness, the sounds of "Tainted" starting to play over the speakers. The fans...are unsure how to react as Sacred starts to walk towards the ring, the spotlights illuminating him as he makes his way to the ring.

Funyon: And his opponent, from Adelaide, Australia...standing 6'1" tall and weighing in at 216 pounds...SAAAAAACREEEEED!

"I don't know how wise a choice it was to make a former World Champion like Sacred angry like King did, but I think that's just going to add to the fan's anticipation to this contest...whatever the rules for it are." Comet states.

"Eh, it's just two men showing that they want to do whatever it takes to get the win in this contest. And I KNOW Sacred is hoping for a win here...especially with his alliance with Revolution Zero. Picture the match then...even King vs. Toxxic is a great thought, don't you think?" Riley states.

"Well, all things ARE possible..." Comet notes. "Both competitors are in the ring now, and now we're FINALLY going to see what the rules for this match are..."

Funyon: And now...the rules of this match...

Funyon pulls an envelope out from his tuxedo, opening it slowly.

Funyon: This contest will be...a STEEL CAGE MATCH!

"WOAH!" both Comet AND Riley call out, surprised by this statement. Sacred doesn't seem to react that much to the announcement, while King and Kelly are having a conniption fit as the cage starts to lower from the roof onto the ring.

"This is going to change the dynamics of the match REALLY quickly here!" Comet states. "Now there's only 3 ways for the match to be won, and there's no way that Kelly can get involved in the match to help King!"

"Well, that's OK..." Riley begins, though his voice shows that there's some uneasiness in it. "That just means that this match will be a bit more interesting."

The steel cage finishes it's lowering process, Kelly managing to have gotten out of the ring at the time an leaving King and Sacred in the ring by themselves.

*DING, DING, DING!*

Max King quickly goes over to be face to face with Sacred now, literally looking down at him as he gets in his face. Sacred doesn't have any sign of backing down from the former ICTV Champion, and even pushes against his body as he does. King seems to laugh a bit at the fact that Sacred is showing no fear, and goes to get a cheap punch into the face of Sacred, however the former World Champion is ready for it, ducking the swing and hitting him across the chest with a hard knife-edge chop! Sacred doesn't stop there, continuing to chop away at the chest of King, getting him towards the center of the ring now before going to whip him into the ropes, ducking down and using all of his body weight to flip him over with a backdrop, causing King to crash onto his side at full force. Sacred dives in to grab King's arm while "The Icon" is down on the mat, ready to work away at it, however King manages to pull away...his match with David Cross reminding him how painful even the lightest submission hold can be on an arm. Sacred grabs the leg of King now, pulling him down onto his face now and now pulling away at it.

"Sacred showing some smart thinking, keeping King off of his feet and working on his leg to try to keep King down on the mat and not use his slight size advantage against him." Comet states.

"Well, Sacred IS smarter than most of the people on this roster, but I don't think that he's going to keep King down forever." Riley states. "King is just as smart as the former World Champion here."

Sacred starts to pull King's leg into a leg lock hold, but Max manages to struggle out of it enough, using his free leg to push away Sacred before too much damage can be done to his leg. King gets back up, shaking up the minor stretching to the leg as he turns to face Sacred, who isn't fully up to his feet yet. King grabs the arm of Sacred and quickly starts twisting it up, trying to lock it up into a compromising position to give himself an advantage. Sacred manages to reverse the armbar, getting King into a hammerlock while standing behind King. King tries to look for a good way out of this hold, and bucks his hips out backwards, flipping Sacred over his back and loosening up the hold, allowing King to get his arm free so it's not hurting. With Sacred down on the mat, King quickly nails him in the chest with a kick, managing to keep him down to the mat for the moment. King goes off the ropes, sizing up Sacred as he does to drop an elbow right into his face, but only gets the apron as he crashes down, Sacred managing to move just at the right moment. Sacred goes off the ropes, sliding in afterwards for a baseball slide right into the temple of King's head. Sacred goes for the first cover of the match.

One!

Two...easy kickout by King.

"Quite a back and forth match in the early goings here, Riley. It seems right now that King and Sacred are pretty evenly matched despite the obvious size and experience differences."

"I'll admit that, as you FINALLY made a good point in your career." Riley states. "But this match is just getting started, and there's a long way to go before the end."

Sacred starts to pull King up to his feet now, an easy move to do as King is already working to get back up to his feet as well. When halfway up to a vertical position, King suddenly catches Sacred with a quick knee right into the gut, doubling the former champion over. King takes a quick chance, grabbing the back of Sacred's head and pushing him face first into the steel cage side!

"Oooooooooh." the crowd says as Sacred's head bounces off of the cage side. King kneels down away from Sacred for the moment, taking the time to soak in the boos and pose a bit for the crowd, much to the delight of Kelly and disgust of those in attendance.

"These Detroit fans not taking to kindly to the actions of Max King right now, Riley. Apparently, they don't want to see him just pose and they want to see him fight."

"What do these Detroit people know? If they had the chance, they'd jump over the barricade and get into the ring to fight him. Of course, we're better than the NBA in that respect."

King finally goes over to Sacred again, picking him up and ready to toss his head right into the side of the cage again to further whatever damage Sacred may have suffered to his head. Before he can get the move that he wanted, however, Sacred manages to get a foot up onto the cage wall, blocking the attempt. King tries again, but gets the same result from Sacred, followed by Sacred hitting King in the face with a forearm shot, and managing to bash KING'S face into the cage wall! With King down for the moment, Sacred decides to take this chance to get a win, climbing up the wall of the steel cage in attempt to escape from it.

"Sacred scaling the cage now Riley...this could be a very quick contest if King doesn't regain his bearings in time."

"Well, this is a smart move by Sacred, of course." Riley notes. "Most people in this company would just continue to try beating on a person...why do that when there's a very good chance of getting a win in this contest like there is right now?"

Sacred manages to grab the top of the cage wall, ready to pull himself over the cage wall to finish the escape. King manages to get up just enough and just in time, grabbing Sacred's leg and pulling him down back into the ring, keeping the match going on. As Sacred comes down though, he doesn't allow for King to get TOO much of an advantage, blasting him right between the shoulders with a forearm shot as he comes down. Following this up, he nails King in the face with a good forearm shot that knocks him back onto his back. He grabs King's legs, ready to lock on the Deprogrammer, going to squeeze it hard and keep him down...but King shows he's not exactly completely out of the match, grabbing the head of Sacred and rolling him over onto the mat into a pinning position!

One!

TW...no, Sacred gets out of the pin and goes to get up, attempting a low dropkick to the slightly down King, however King manages to grab Sacred's ankles and pulls him down to the mat, allowing for King to get back up to his feet now. Sacred still manages to get up in time, but for his troubles he gets a hard knee shot into the jaw, and King drops his elbow into the jaw of Sacred while he's down on the mat. Thinking that is enough, King stands up, brushes himself off, and starts walking towards the door to the cage.

"Max King is going to walk out of this cage now Comet, and this is probably the best idea for the moment. Easy victory time..." Riley states.

"I don't know about that, but apparently Kelly think that's the fact as she quickly pulls the door to the cage open." Comet states. King smiles, stepping through the ring ropes, ready to step out of the cage...until Sacred manages to dive over and grab his ankle, pulling him off of his feet and his throat hitting right onto the ring rope. Sacred braces his stance, pulling King back into the ring a bit, his forehead slightly busted open from the cage shots and repeated shots to the head. Sacred grabs King by his hair, lifting him back up to his feet to apparently get him into the right position, and chopping him hard into the chest. King's chest starts to turn red at the repeated shots, and Sacred seems to be liking what he sees. King manages to lay back in the ropes now, and Sacred whips King off the other side of the ring, and leaps up to catch King with a Hurricanrana. King catches him as he does though, dropping him down onto the mat with a Powerbomb, hooking Sacred into a pin immediately after the powerbomb!

One!

TWO!

Sacred STILL manages a kick-out, this time almost immediately after the two count is laid down. This fact doesn't seem to deter King though, as he feels that Sacred is still down too much to do anything...so King makes his way to the nearest wall of the cage, and starts his ascent towards the top.

"See how smart King is here, Comet?" Riley proclaims. "He saw that the pin didn't work for him there, so he's going with one of the other ways to win the match! He's one of the smartest men to ever lace the boots!"

"He may be smart, but he is taking a tremendous gamble here to see if this tactic will get him the victory." Comet notes.

Despite the comment by Comet, King is quickly up to the top of the cage, hanging onto the rim of the cage and getting ready to pull himself over the top of the cage. King sees Sacred moving on the apron, approaching the wall that King is climbing...and "The Icon" decides that this is not the time to try to escape...instead leaping off of the top rope and dropping an elbow right into the back of Sacred! King pushes Sacred onto his back, going for another cover!

One!

TWO!

STILL Sacred kicks out, still right after the two count is laid down.

"Max King is starting to look a little frustrated out there, Riley." Comet notes. "No matter what he does to Sacred, he can't seem to keep the former champion down for the count."

"That's OK, this is a great match right here! The more time that these two have in the ring, the more we get to see these two great competitors getting the time that they deserve in the ring!" Riley exclaims.

King decides to do what he tried to do before, escaping the cage while Sacred is still down on the mat, as he walks over to the cage door now. Kelly quickly helps the referee pull the steel cage door open for her man, as he continues to make his way towards the door and the outside of the ring.

Sacred lifts his head weakly from the mat, seeing that King is once again about to get out of the ring and win the match without too much effort. Sacred doesn't seem to enjoy that thought, as evidenced by some anger that quickly appears on his face, and he takes the chance by kicking his hips out, and grabs at one of King's legs with his own legs, preventing him from escaping! King turns around and kicks Sacred right into the head, a big expression of anger on his face as he walks back into the ring to continue this match. King grabs Sacred by the waist from the mat, lifting him up, and extending his knee out to make sure that Sacred crashes hard onto the knee sternum first with his Sternum Buster. Not simply satisfied with that, King lifts Sacred up again, and drops him once more across the knee with another Sternum Buster, this time letting Sacred go and leaving him to his pain. King pushes Sacred back onto his back for yet another pin attempt!

One!

TWO!

...Sacred still manages to kick out, showing he's a long way from giving up the match to King! King is about to try his "attempt to escape the cage after a pin attempt" trick again, but this time Sacred is ready, reaching a hand out and tripping King before he can either get to a cage wall or the cage door! Sacred, still holding onto King's leg while down on the mat, starts to twist on the ankle of King, apparently in a modified version of a classic Ankle Lock style submission hold. King struggles and claws, eventually using his free leg to kick Sacred's hands off of his leg and allow him to stand up now. King, angry that Sacred is still fighting off everything that he's been doing thus far, just waits for Sacred to get up to just the right position in this match, and when Sacred is up to his knees he goes off of the ropes and attempt to hit him in the face with a flying forearm! Sacred seems to be ready, ducking away from the forearm and causing King to pass just by him in the moment, then when King next turns around, catches him by surprise and hits him with the Spanish Inquisition!

"I have to say this...NOBODY expects the Spanish Inquisition!" Comet calls. "And Sacred may have bought himself just the amount of time that he needed to get something going here in the match!"

"I'm inclined to agree with you there, Comet. I didn't expect Sacred to suddenly pounce like that...where did he pull off that energy?" Riley wonders out loud.

Sacred may have been able to hit King with something like that just at the right moment, but it isn't doing him much good as he's still a little out of it from the repeated hits that King has been taking throughout the match until this point. Sacred finally manages to grab onto a rope, pulling himself back up to his feet just enough to attempt to regain his balance and bearings. King, at the moment, is holding onto his back in pain, still caught by surprise with the Spanish Inquisition. Sacred sees that King is still down for the moment, and goes off of the ropes and hits his Triple Jump Moonsault, landing in a picture perfect movement, staying on for the pin now!

One!

TWO!

King desperately shoots his shoulder up off of the mat now, making sure that the match isn't about to end now. However, Sacred doesn't seem to want to take this fact, as he hooks up one of King's legs this time, holding on for another pin.

One!

TWO!

King still manages to kick out of this pin, still managing to keep his dream of winning this match alive...despite none of the fans who are watching this match wanting King to win this contest. Of course, they're not exactly fans of Sacred either, as the reaction from the crowd is very much mixed when King manages to kick out once again. Sacred pushes King right into the face while he's down on the mat, making sure "The Icon" doesn't get a chance to get back up to his feet now, starting to hook him up into his Inverted STF hold...then reaching over for King's arms to pull them back into a double chickenwing hold.

"Sacred now keeping King right where he wants him...apparently wanting to keep him right in the middle of the ring and not let him get any chance to get to the ropes or to a cage door!" Comet states.

"This is going to be one of the biggest tests of the career of "The Icon" right now, Comet. If Max King can find a way to struggle enough to escape the hold, then I have a feeling that he's going to be able to go above and beyond the call of any wrestler on the SWF roster today!"

A close up through the wall of the cage shows the face of Max King, anguished and in severe pain, while the face of Sacred is also slightly anguished and, unlike King's face at the moment, bloody. The close up also allows the people to see that King is starting to squirm in the grasp of Sacred, and he starts to roll as best that he can, apparently seeing if that alone will loosen up the hold just enough for him to be able to move and get an advantage for himself. King's attempt proves to work, as King's bodyweight allows for him to move around the lighter competitor and off of his body enough for him to flip through, grabbing onto the ropes with his legs as his arms are still being held into the double chickenwing. Sacred lets go of the hold as soon as King gets into the ropes, and the expression on King's face shows that he's still feeling that hold. Sacred doesn't let King stay on the ropes though, grabbing him by the hair and pulling him off of the ropes, attempting to hook up the hold again, but King plays it smart as he rolls onto his knees, preventing Sacred from getting a chance to lock in another version of the STF while King is prone. Sacred reaches around, going to grab the arms of King once again for the double chickenwing, but King...through the pain, once again manages to flip Sacred over his body onto the mat, then quickly dives over to the steel cage door to try to escape. Sacred will have none of it though, leaping over and grabbing King around the sides with his own legs, squeezing as hard as he can with them, rolling so King's shoulders are down and arching back for his Leg Roll Clutch...making sure that King is down perfectly!

One!

TWO!

NO! King somehow manages to sneak his shoulder up off of the mat, and the referee JUST notices it in time.

"Sacred making a unique comeback in this match, and I don't think that Max King was ready for something like this from Sacred, Riley." Comet notes.

"Well, how can you be completely ready for someone like Sacred here, Comet? He isn't exactly the most normal combatant on the roster...of course, neither is King...but in a different way." Riley states.

Sacred is grinning wildly at the fact that he seemingly has King exactly where he wants him at the moment, and is apparently just waiting for King to get back up to his feet now. He kicks King in the gut when King is back up, hooking him into a front facelock, apparently trying to get in his infamous Cruel Fate finisher to end this match once and for all. King proves that he's not completely out of this match right now, as Sacred somewhat did earlier in the bout, as he lifts Sacred up and over with a beautifully executed Northern Lights Suplex, holding on for a pin while he has the chance!

One!

TWO!

No, Sacred kicks out, a surprised look on his face at the fact that Max King was able to reverse an attempt at the Cruel Fate at the right moment. King, his body still hurting a bit from Sacred's earlier submission, is too busy trying to shake the pain out of his body for the moment to capitalize on the momentary advantage that he has over Sacred. Sacred gets back up and waits for King to turn around, getting into a stance and just waiting in the corner for whatever he's looking for. When King turns around, Sacred charges in at full force, going for his Kamikaze style Spear....however King seems to have at least THAT move scouted from the former champ, as he ducks out of the way, causing Sacred to catch nothing but a steel cage right into the face, rich across the cut that he has from earlier. King sees his chance to strike onto Sacred now, grabbing him by the head after getting back up onto his feet and pulling Sacred up, lifting him up and dropping the Australian down onto his head with a jumping piledriver, causing Sacred's whole body to bounce off the mat like a basketball, followed by his body flopping to the mat like a wet noodle. King dives onto Sacred, hooking up the leg once again now for another chance to get the victory in the match!

One!

TWO!

THRE...NO!

"How the hell did Sacred kick out of THAT?" Riley wonders out loud. "He looked DEAD out in that ring from that patented Jumping Piledriver from King!"

"Sacred does have the determination to continue to fight on, but I don't know how much he has left in him after that. Both of these men are coming back from everything that the other man can dish out on the other, and even though they're not loved by the fans, the fans are loving how these two are continuing to fight on with all their skill!"

King shakes his head softly, apparently surprised and a little proud at the fact that Sacred somehow is still managing to fight on despite everything that King has been doing to him. King grabs the head of Sacred while he's still down on the mat, hooking it up into a reverse DDT position, and everyone seems to know what King has planned as he plants his knee right between the shoulderblades of Sacred.

"He's going for the Compressor, Comet! There's no way that Sacred will be able to get the victory if King manages to completely hook up that Compressor!" Riley notes.

"King is reaching for the leg now, trying to complete the lock-up for the Compressor...but Sacred is kicking with that leg, trying his hardest not to let the hold get completed!" Comet notes. "It's a battle of wills in the middle of the caged ring right now!"

King continues to try to grab at the leg of Sacred, but Sacred shows he's not about to let "The Icon" get his patented submission hold onto him, continuing to kick his leg away every time that King reaches for the leg! Finally, King gives up, lifting up to his feet, apparently instead deciding to go for a reverse DDT as he couldn't get the Compressor in...however the two men are too close to the ropes, and as King tries to drop Sacred down onto the mat with the reverse DDT, Sacred leaps up and wraps his legs around the top rope, holding on as King falls back onto the back of his head minus Sacred! Sacred lets go of the ropes again, his eyes a bit glassy at the moment as he's still feeling the attempt at the Compressor by King...but he still manages to fight up to his feet, and grabs King by the arm, pulling him up to his feet, before wrapping the arm of King around King's throat and dropping him down with a modified version of the neckbreaker...a move that Sacred has dubbed "Knifey-Spoony"...before going over for another cover!

One!

TWO!

THRE...NO! King shoots a shoulder up, somehow showing that Sacred hasn't yet done enough to Max King to put him down and out for good in this contest.

"I don't know what these two have inside of their hearts right now, Riley...but whatever it is I at the very least am gaining a new respect for both Sacred and "The Icon" Max King." Comet states.

"And it's about time you showed them the respect that they both DESERVE to have, if you ask me." Riley states. "Now we just have to get you to like the rest of Revolution Zero, and we'll be all set."

Sacred reaches down once again, apparently going to see if he can get something onto King...but is surprisingly caught by Max King, as the Icon shoots his index and middle fingers right into the eyes of Sacred as he leans over, following this up by raking his face with his hand.

"...well, so much for the respect for King." Comet notes. "Apparently he sees that normal wrestling wasn't working on Sacred, now he's resorting to cheating to get his way."

"Hey, this is a steel cage match, Comet. There are no rules, and what King did right there to Sacred was just as legal as a headlock!" Riley claims.

Sacred, momentarily blinded by both blood and having his face attacked by King's cheating ways, is unable to see as Max King walks right up to him, hooking Sacred up and, while gritting his teeth in pain and struggling, lifts him up and over with a Butterfly Suplex down onto the mat. Instead of going for the cover in the match this time though, King starts to make a beeline for one of the walls of the cage, the door at the moment being too far away, and starts to climb up the cage wall to the top to make his escape once again. The fans are on their feet, but instead of cheering they are jeering at the top of their lungs, making sure that they know they don't approve of the way that he managed to get an advantage in the match just a few moments ago. King looks out to the crowd, just shaking his head as he climbs up the cage wall, and starts shouting...the camera JUST catching what he's saying.

"You people are damn morons!" he shouts out to them, only causing the crowd to intensify their jeering for him! King shrugs, his back at the moment to Sacred and unaware that Sacred is using the ring ropes to start pulling himself back up to his feet with the ring ropes. King drapes one of his legs over the top of the steel cage, ready to roll over the top of the cage and start climbing down. However, Sacred manages to apparently get a sudden boost of adrenaline, and from out of nowhere leaps up the side of the cage that King is climbing, hooking "The Icon" up by the head, holding him in the front facelock while standing on the ropes. King tries his best to escape out from this hold, wanting nothing more than to simply escape out from the cage and end this match once and for all, however Sacred somehow manages to have this hold on too tight for King to simply slip out of the hold. Sacred holds on as tight as he can, climbing up to the top of the cage while still holding King by that front facelock, and from the top of the cage all the way down back into the ring, Sacred drops him down into the ring with a nicely executed DDT!

The crowd, naturally, reacts to the move the best way possible:

"HOLY SHIT!"

"HOLY SHIT!"

"HOLY SHIT!"

"HOLY SHIT!"

"While I'm not one for cursing, these fans have the right reaction to that move!" Comet quickly notes. "That could have easily ended all hopes for Max King to get the victory now, and Sacred seems to be aware of that very fact! Going for the cover now!"

One!

TWO!

THREE...NO!

"Max King draped his foot on the rope!" Riley is quick to mention. "And look at Kelly's look of relief on the outside of the ring...she seemed to almost have a heart attack at seeing that."

"I think that she's just upset that she hasn't been able to do her usual vile, villainous ways in the favor of her colleague." Comet notes. "Otherwise, SHE would probably look a bit better than she is right now."

Sacred has gotten up to his feet now, and is DEMANDING that the referee award him the match, feeling that the match was a victory for him as no one would be able to kick out of what he just did there. The referee insists, however, that since Max King managed to get a foot onto the rope that this match was still going on. Sacred, disgusted at this fact, seems to just say "Forget this", as he walks over to the cage door, ready to escape that way.

When he gets there, however, Kelly Connelly is standing right onto the apron, apparently preventing for the moment Sacred from leaving the cage that way. The fans are SCREAMING for Sacred to attack Kelly, apparently sick and tired of all the times before that she's cheated to help Max King get victories in matches that he most likely would have lost. Sacred, however, doesn't abide to their pleas, just backing away and turning over to the still down and apparently out Max King. Sacred pulls King over to the middle of the ring, and hoping that King is still out of it for the moment, leans over to try to get a pin.

One!

TWO!

King, apparently simply on instinct for the moment, suddenly grabs the head of Sacred while he's being pinned, and rolls up Sacred tight on the mat with a small package pin in the middle of the ring!

One!

TWO!

THREE...NO! Sacred shoots a shoulder up JUST at the last possible moment, and his eyes are wide in surprise as he pushes a halfway out cold Max King off of him, not expecting King to have recovered as quickly as he did at the moment. Sacred seems to be deciding what to do at the moment, and seems to feel that this is a desperate time, as he stands right at the head of Max King, who at the moment is down on his stomach. Sacred reaches down, apparently reaching over and pulling him towards a vertical position...hooking the arms of King behind his legs.

"Sacred MUST be feeling desperate right now, as he's apparently going for his move he calls the 'Super Terrific Happy Fun Slam'!" Comet notes. "He's trying to get King up, I don't know though if he CAN get Max King up in the right position..."

Sacred tries to hold his balance while holding King up into the position, but King's body is almost like dead weight in Sacred's arms...and Sacred isn't able to completely get King up into the vertical position. King manages to feel where he is, and grabs the legs of Sacred, pulling them away so Sacred falls onto his back and is unable to complete the move that he had planned for "The Icon". King tries to stay on his feet, but his head and neck are still hurting from the Top of the Cage DDT that Sacred hit him with a little while ago. He eventually does manage to stay in a vertical position, reaching down to grab at a sitting-up Sacred...but Sacred catches him across the jaw with a hard forearm shot that keeps him from doing anything, knocking him back over into the ropes. As King goes off of the ropes, Sacred goes off the other rope, using everything in his body now to nail Max King with his Kamikaze Spear, this time hitting it fully.

"That could have just knocked the wind right out of Max King, Riley. Sacred has the perfect opportunity to try to get a win in this match at the moment, and it's up to him which way he decides to take it." Comet states.

"And it looks like he's going to climb out of the cage, leaving Max King in the ring to think about the loss he's about to suffer. I don't know how wise this is, but hey, I'm sure that Sacred knows what he's doing." Riley says.

Sacred starts his slow climb of the cage, a lot of the energy in his body put into that Kamikaze spear that he just hit Max King with causing his climb not to be a quick ascent. King, while having the wind out of his body, isn't ready just yet to do anything to stop Sacred however, and Sacred manages to get up onto the top rope in his climb after some effort, catching his breath a bit to prepare for the final part of the climb. As Sacred reaches up for the top of the cage to finish up the climb, in a nearby corner Max King, upon Kelly's urging on the outside of the ring, starts to use the turnbuckle to start making his own climb up the buckles, pulling himself up to his feet first and then sees where Sacred is. King starts his own climb as Sacred reaches for the rim of the cage to pull himself the rest of the way over, and soon he is in the right position and height to start hitting Sacred in the back with forearm shots. Sacred shows that he isn't about to just lay down and give up this match by retaliating with back-elbow shots, wanting this win with all that he's worth. King uses one hand to hold onto the side of the cage, the other hand to hit Sacred in between the shoulderblades with his forearm shots. Sacred still attempts to fight back, continuing to swing his elbow in the general vicinity of the face of Max King. He manages to get about two shots, but on the third shot, King manages to duck out of the way just at the right moment, and as Sacred is in an awkward position, hooks him up with a reverse facelock.

"King's got Sacred hooked...this isn't looking good for Sacred now. I don't know WHAT King has planned...but..." Comet tries to state.

"King's holding his balance...he's balancing amazingly on the ropes...HE'S GOT THE LEG OF SACRED NOW!" Riley says as the action happens

"Off of that top rope...THE KING BUSTER OFF THE TOP ROPE!" Comet calls. "Max King hit his move...he's going for the cover IMMEDIATELY after the move!"

One!

TWO!

THREEEEEEE!

*DING, DING, DING!*

Despite their normal feelings for the personalities of both Sacred and Max King, the fans are standing, showing their respect for the two competitors as "Superstar" starts to play over the speakers, and Kelly Connelly dives into the ring to hug Max as soon as the cage door is open for her to do so.

Funyon: Here is your winner, and advancing to the FINALS of the Cold Front Classic..."THE ICON"...MAX...KIIIIIIIIING!

"Max King managed to win this match all by himself this time!" Comet notes. "I think for the first time in his entire SWF career, Max King managed to get the win in the contest without the help of Kelly Connelly on the outside, and he's going to move on to the final round to face the winner of our next match."

"And I have to say this now, depending on the outcome of that match later tonight, we may have a winner already determined. Max King is my choice at the current moment for the winner of this whole tournament!" Riley says.

"Well, he was in a fight tonight...and don't take anything away from Sacred in this match." Comet states. "He gave a fight like you might not have expected from him...and at some points in this match, it could have gone either way. But on this night, Max King used one great move, and he will advance to the finals. Don't go away though, our main event to determine King's opponent in the future is up next, so stay tuned!"

The camera starts to fade out as Max King, with Kelly's help, leaves the caged ring, both all smiles (though King wearily so) as they start making their way to the backstage area.

I ended up marking this after Judge had a minor emergency.

There really wasn't anything particularly wrong with this match. It did seem to lack a feeling of urgency and importance that Sacred's match had, however... and to that end, I think you just ran up against a guy who's got more experience and knows how to use it. I realize it's a frustrating thing to be told, but... honestly, the match just seemed very bland when compared to Sacred's. The action was Perfectly Acceptable Wrestling, but it may have moved a little too quickly... Sacred's match handled it very well, as far as developing and describing things to give some weight to their importance.

If you have any more questions, please feel free to ask.

Yeah, I have to concur with Flesher. Nothing wrong with your match by any means, but Sacred's was pretty danred good.

It seemed more like King and Sacred wanted a quicker win in your match than his, where you'd probably expect them to wear each other down more. But, again, nothing wrong with your match, but Sacred experience of big matches (and that's BIG matches as Sacred's had about 8 different title reigns) probably added those little touches you can only get from experience. Frustrating I know. Believe me, I've been there with Sacred myself.

One thing I noticed in both matches...Kelly standing on the apron. Wasn't it a mesh cage in both matches?

I ended up marking this after Judge had a minor emergency.

This emergency was basically "Stopping drunken people from urinating on my carpet and breaking stuff". Last night was tough.

I didn't get a chance to read your match (I only got through Muzz's before the second wave hit and I realized it was hopeless), but I'll try to get comments up sometime today.
