razazteca Posted December 9, 2004 Report Posted December 9, 2004 What was the point with the slide show? Was that suppose to be another Silience of the Lambs reference?
Guest El Satanico Posted December 9, 2004 Report Posted December 9, 2004 Yes, it's from the Silence of The Lambs prequel Manhunter/Red Dragon
Guest OSIcon Posted December 9, 2004 Report Posted December 9, 2004 I actually thought this episode was better than the one last week. I saw last week's get a lot of praise in some places, but I didn't like it all. Of course, I also thought 'Awesome-O' was one the weaker episodes from last season, so what do I know.
moral suasion Posted December 9, 2004 Report Posted December 9, 2004 When season 8 comes out on DVD, I hope that in the mini commentaries explain why these episodes are so shitty. Trey has a lot of explaining to do. I am hoping that Trey is not actually writing these episodes. Hopefully he is just letting someone else write them and he stamps his name on it and collects a check. If he is actually writing them, I have a lots a huge amount of respect for him as a writer. I used to consider him a genius, but not anymore. South Park is a shell of what it once was. It is no longer honest or satirical. Now, it is just parody and farce. I hate to say this, but parallels between the degradation of the Simpsons and the beginnings of the degradation of South Park are uncanny.
Guest El Satanico Posted December 9, 2004 Report Posted December 9, 2004 Oh god get out of here with that garbage. Keep that contained in the Simpson threads. Matt nor Trey owes you an explanation for anything.
Slayer Posted December 9, 2004 Report Posted December 9, 2004 Well, I thought SP was pretty funny, at least The climax of the hour for me though was the end of DT when the insectoid pulls the pizza prank.
GreatWhiteNope Posted December 9, 2004 Report Posted December 9, 2004 I wonder if the character killing will be a constant thing since it's over in two seasons anyway. I would doubt it. Probably just getting rid of a useless character. They just recently changed their female voice actress for the second time to someone new. The mayor had a new voice last week and I'm guessing Ms. Crabtree was one of the characters the new actress either didn't want to do, or she couldn't do the voice properly.
Mik Posted December 9, 2004 Report Posted December 9, 2004 Wow. Funny you mentioned that. I noticed that Cartman's mom sounded not quite right last night.
Guest Salacious Crumb Posted December 9, 2004 Report Posted December 9, 2004 Had Ms. Crabtree ever really been in the show that much since the one where the bus gets stuck out in the middle of nowhere and she became a stand up comic?

Despite how bad some of the episodes have been they've still been outshined by Fun With Weapons which for me was the best South Park episode ever.
Slayer Posted December 9, 2004 Report Posted December 9, 2004 Fun With Weapons, Up the Down Steroid, Passion of the Jew and PreSchool were all good eps from this season
Guest Olympic Slam Posted December 9, 2004 Report Posted December 9, 2004 South Park was funny. Drawn Together was terrible. Which is too bad because the last threee episodes were so good that I actually caught myself thinking that the show was better than South Park(!).
SamoaRowe Posted December 9, 2004 Report Posted December 9, 2004 I missed a lot of episodes this season, but the ones I did see were very good. I felt that one where they were running a news program was weak, but I still got some laughs in.
kkktookmybabyaway Posted December 9, 2004 Report Posted December 9, 2004 The only one I've seen so far this season was the news one, and I was disappointed. I thought they were going to go in one direction and didn't...
Guest Smues Posted December 9, 2004 Report Posted December 9, 2004 You got F'd in the A makes this season good on it's own.
Guest Failed Mascot Posted December 9, 2004 Report Posted December 9, 2004 The PreSchool one is the only one I've found entertaining recently. Something tells me that in the final episode everybody but Kenny will be killed off.
Ravenbomb Posted December 9, 2004 Report Posted December 9, 2004 Yeah, F'd in the A is one of their best. Second only to Scott Tenorman Must Die (no episode can compete with its greatness)
Gary Floyd Posted December 9, 2004 Report Posted December 9, 2004 Last nights South Park was...meh. As for Drawn Together, not as good as last weeks, but still pretty funny. Best parts included the ending, and the line "I don't steal Wagons-I steal scenes!" had me cracking up.
Guest Smell the ratings!!! Posted December 9, 2004 Report Posted December 9, 2004 the beggining of this season was so damn awesome that they can just fill the end with crap and it will still be a good year. F'ed in the A, Steroids, Weapons, Preschool, this years been great even with a few stinkers.
