If TNA does fold...

Recommended Posts

I realized I haven't really put a decent thread or post out there for awhile (with the exception of my BRILLIANT PPV of TV stars), so, in the intrest of fairness...I got to thinking...I really like some of the guys in TNA, and, if they fold, where will they go? We all know that Jarett, Hall, Nash, Savage, et al are pretty much done with Vince...but...who would Vince go after? Would an influx of TNA guys pick up the boredom that has become the WWE?

What I would ideally like is for Bischoff and Heyman to tell Vince to go to hell. If Bisch can get those investors back from when he almost bought WCW, and realize that Heyman is a visionary...they could splinter off from WWE. The guys that Heyman still has loyalty from (Tazz, the Dudleys. Dreamer) might be tempted to join Paul E. Bisch has no loyalties, but, he may be able to convince a few guys to ask for release as well.

Take these two guys, and start a new promotion. Hell, Bisch could buy the TNA name from Panda and use what little name power it has. Paul E has no love for the KOW guys, but, could work wonders with AJ, Sabin, Daniels, et al.

Since none of this will/would happen...the next logical step is for some of the TNA guys to end up in WWE. Who do you guys see as being WWE-worthy?

My picks:

Monty Brown---Vince loves him some big ex football guys.

Abyss---would end up being some sidekick type

AJ Styles---would join with Paul London, Akio, and Chavo to make Velocity the best show WWE has to offer

All of Team Canada---Eh, cheap Canadian pops come off great on TV

They would all, of course, be wasted. But, who else would fit some place in the WWE?

Bisch and Heyman hate each other.

Otherwise, I think everyone will spread through the indies. Maybe some of the "veterans" might try knocking on Vince's door.

Raven wouldn't go near the WWE again.

I doubt Vince would want Jarrett.

DDP wouldn't go back, nor would Hall & Nash.

WWE obviouslyhas no use for Dusty, or Dustin.

Jeff Hardy would probably end up in the WWE.

Umm... what other "Vets" are there?

Raven, Daniels, Styles, Skipper, Williams, Devine, Sabin, and Dutt I could see sticking to RoH and doing other indy dates, as well as Japan tours.

Kazarian, Shane, Traci Brooks, Monte Brown, Abyss, and MAYBE America's Most Wanted might go to WWE, with only Brown and Abyss making any sort of positive impact. But who knows? KAZARISHANE might end up becoming one hell of a tag team, since they're already pretty damn solid (now if only TNA would push them now that they've become entertaining).

Jarrett, Nash, Hall, Kid Kash, Eric Young, Bobby Roode, and the rest will probably linger around in the indies until another "we want to be competition" company starts up. Either that, or Roode is signed to WWE, Kid Kash goes to RoH, and Nash and Hall go back to WWE.

Michael Shane would probably get signed if he just got his bodyfat down a tad bit.

Don West could join Velocity to form the THE WORST ANNOUNCING TEAM IN PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING HISTORY! If you thought Coach & Grisham were bad wait until West & Demott start calling Bob Holly matches on Saturday Nite.

Abyss can be Paul Bearer's son, Monty will be the generic black guy who escaped the horrors of the ghetto thru football, AMW will have a Dukes of Hazzard gimmick who were in Sparkplug Holly's pit crew from back in the day, Petey William's will be Nunzio's 2nd cousin.

Monty would be "signed"

AMW would be "signed"

Michael Shane would be "signed"

Elix Skipper MIGHT be "signed"

Ron Killings MIGHT be "signed"

Sonny Siaki MIGHT be "signed"

Jeff Hardy MIGHT be "signed", if he gets off the drugs.

AJ would be given an offer to be a lifetime cruiser, but refuse.

Abyss would get NO love from WWE, and go to IWA-PR.

Daniels gets no love, does indy/JAP.

Petey gets no love, does indy.

Sabin gets no love, does indy.

The KOW, DDP, and others would wrestle for WWA and in japan

And by "Signed" i mean given a developmental deal. Just to kill any heat they may have had coming in.

Whats WWA? If you mean that crappy company that did shows once a year from around the World, they've been dead for 18 months and unified all their belts into the NWA World and X-Division titles.

It's been said time and time again, but Styles would be such a massive WWE star it isn't even funny. I almost hope that TNA folds just so WWE can make him an offer (presumably better than the developmental deal). During the initial Jarrett/Styles program, I just looked at him and said "fucking superstar right there."

The only problem with Styles is he has a very noticable southern accent, and can anyone name 1 main eventer in WWE that sounded that (tries thinking of a nice word) hickish? I know Steve Austin had a slight Texan accent, but nothing that would make you say "hick!"

He's not 6 foot 225 lbs.....it ain't going to happen. Plus, he wouldn't be a star by the WWE. Even if they wanted to make him a star it probably wouldn't work correctly. He has no mic skills......or at least to the point where it wouldn't exactly WOW the WWE. Also, after seeing him in the ring with their roster.......he's be doing Velocity duty in a week.......he'd be half of most guys size there now. Not like that's a big deal to me...........but we all know how much Vince & Co. care about that.

Maybe if any of them could wrestle..... like NON-SHITTY matches, they might get signed.

But thats pushing it for many of them {yes, looking right at you Petey Williams}, so meh.

I could see maybe AJ Styles finally getting signed [ugh], Jeff [ugh], Micheal Shane just because he's HBK's cousin [double ugh], Abyss [drinks to a Abyss/Kane feud], and probably Mounty Brown, which is a made for Theodore Long character.

Meh, if TNA folds, WWE gets only worse, if TNA hangs around, TNA only makes wrestling worse.

Take your pick.

We can easily say WWE won't ever sign AMW...until Vince gets really drunk. Before they signed their TNA Contracts last year, they had a chance to leave, and apparently someone high up in WWE (probably Vince) thought AMW were too vanilla (and too much of hicks).

Which is funny..... because they are. Besides the fact that their a *1/2 tag team at best.

Yet, they are still better than most of the tag teams that the WWE currently has.....even though that doesn't say much.

Ummm....you are saying that AJ and Petey can't work? What? I mean, they are no BJNP*....but...they can go....

You must be a WWEMARK.

Sorry....I just cannot be that mean to someone. I'm sorry. You aren't a WWEMARK.

Ummm... please sir show me one **** match Petey's been in, hell even a **. His finishing maneuver is the dumbest move in history next to the Pounce. It completly exposes the business its ridiculous.

And actually, currently, I'd take Rey/RVD over AMW.

As for being a WWE mark? Yea, because I hate TNA's "no matches allowed above **" style in their shitty 6-sided ring compared to the beauty that is AJPW 86-93 or even Crockett or even ROH, you got me there pal. Because I hate TNA [cuz it is pretty damn downright shity], and you don't know who I am, I must be a WWEMark. Good point sir.

Are you kidden me? The Ultimate X Match was around *** 1/2, Styles vs Williams was around ***1/2, and William vs Sabin put on a **** match at the PPV along with a few **** matches back in BCW with Amazing N8, Chris Sabin, among others.

It's not like Williams has been around all that long, and all I can pretty much say to you is.. if you wanna take RVD or even Mysterio of Petey, you really are one of Vince's little toys. And man, it's okay do as you please.. but to comment how Williams ain't good.. is REALLY funny.

You judge a wrestler by their finisher? He's not good because you dont like his finisher? If we looked at most "Cruiserweight" style moves.. most of them ARE unbelievable... and if you one of these morons that wants to see the Cruiserweights die.. it really backs up the moron part nicely.

Oh wow.. so because a promotion uses a Six-Sided ring it makes their matches bad. Matches cant be above ** when you have a Six-Sided ring.. that moron point I made, is being backed up nicely here. Watch Turning Point.. and then you can just eat all those stupid quotes you made.

Petey Williams isn't that great, at least judging by his TNA matches. I find him to be the most over-rated X-Division wrestler since Michael Shane was Champion. Rey Mysterio IS > Petey Williams.

His offense is blah, from the matches I've seen of him he blows a lot of spots (I haven't seen much TNA since the Summer since I only get to see Xplosions), and uses probably the most ridiculous finishing moves ever since the People's Elbow.

Just because TNA had ONE good show in about a year doesn't make TNA "the shit". I've wasted at least $400 on weekly PPVs, and most of them generally sucked. Either they sucked, kinda sucked, or didn't really suck.

It IS cool, I won't argue that, but once you actually sit and think about it, there is no chance in hell that move is realistic looking.

But we are suppose to believe the moves are still "real". Jim Ross kinda confuses everyone with his stupid "this is entertainment, but it's real!" comments, but there's a fine line between fake and completely exposing the business fake.

There is nothing realistic about wrestling on tv period......unless you like reality tv drama.

The problem with a move like the CD, is that, as spectacular as it is, it's one of those moves that you just cannot suspend your disbelief on. And without that suspension of disbelief, you're just watching an exhibition of moves, and the match in question then loses meaning.

You could see it as an athletic exhibition and respect the wrestlers for their athletic ability.

And yes, I think the move is way too fake.

The problem with that is a wrestling match isn't meant to be an athletic exhibition. It's meant to be two guys beating each other up to win a match. The moment it gets turned into an exhibition, people stop caring.

a.k.a a spotfest. You only watch to see what they'll do next, not to see who's going to win.

When Petey does the second rope version it is highly plausible. Honestly the regular version on someone the same size as Petey works well. He obviously couldn't use this against the Big Show or any of the Hosses.

I'm curious if he can modify it into some sort of running the ropes version where he gets enough momentum to make it look more plausible as well.

Ric Flair? If you don't accept that (and I doubt you will), The Undertaker?

I always thought AMW would work as a tag team in WWE as long as they had clear seperate personalities. They need to be more like a Benoit/Angle tag where each guy clearly has his own goals but both guys know they work great together.

If you make them so close together that they seem to be sharing the same minds, they'll just be Basham Brothers II.
