So I made infinity profit on that, and I have the highest proportionate gross in film history. Seriously though, barron, you have the worst taste of anyone I've ever known, with the exception of my mother, the exception proving the rule being that Dirty Work is my favorite comedy ever. That movie also had some good supporting actors in Don Rickels, Chris Farley, Chevy Chase, and the guy that owned the Sporting Goods store in the Problem Child series. Agreed. I don't think any of us paid money to see it though. Chevy was killed by "Cops and Robbersons" and he wasn't helped by the beyond horrible "Vegas Vacation". I mean this is the man that made such hits as Funny Farm, Nothing But Trouble(one of the most under rated films ever), Caddyshack, Three Amigos, the National Lampoon Vacation series(Vegas Vacation not withstanding), and Sesame Street Presents: Follow That Bird. She was in the really funny "Blast From The Past" a couple of years later with Brendan Fraser, but I don't think she's done anything of note since then. She had a show last year called "Ms. Match" that tanked really hard. I mean, the never-ending sequels of "Rocky" and "Rambo" weren't great or anything, but they weren't nearly as brutal as "Stop!" After winning the Oscar for his role in "La Vita e Bella", Roberto Benigni was getting a good deal of attention from American audiences. Of course, his fame just completely plummeted after following that up with "Pinocchio". "Catwoman" could be the bomb that ends Halle Berry's career prematurely. We'll have to wait and see on that one. To the person who suggested Colin Farrell before, I don't think "Alexander" bombing will hurt him too much. Oliver Stone seems to be getting the brunt of the blame for that one. But if Farrell doesn't come up with a hit on his own soon, his marketability will be shot. The movies where he doesn't get top billing - S.W.A.T., Daredevil, Minority Report - do wind up going over $100 million, but the movies he DOES get top billing in either bomb or struggle to make it over the budget. Not good. But, as someone said before: History might show there could be no better example of this trend than Ben Affleck with "Gigli." The guy puts out one awful movie with his girlfriend, and the entire country lashes out at him. His career really shows no signs of improving at this point - didn't "Surviving Christmas" with Gandolfini only wind up making around $11 milion? Terrible.... Assuming your numbers for Open Range are correct, I'm sure eveyone involved was pleased by the financial results. I'm also sure that none of them would call it a hit. Yeah I saw that movie dubbed in turkish, it made the expierience even worse. I think the kid from the sixth sense (Haley Joel Osment) career has sort of hit a rock. He got all that publicity from the Sixth Sense and other than that only has A.I to show for it. Also Macaulay Culkin bombed big. Outside of the recent Saved! (which I dont know was a hit or not) the last thing he did of note was the Page Master and that pretty much died. The third one was my favorite, and I liked the fourth film, but it seemed like the actualy crime being committed was a backstory to Riggs being a dad, among other things...
