haws bah gawd 0 Report post Posted January 10, 2005 If it makes anyone feel better, I was going through some old tapes the other day and found an old Smakcdown where Randy gets DESTROYED~! by Brock Lesnar. Is this the match where Orton went for his High Crossbody, and Brock fell backwards, rolled-through, then deadlifted him into the F-5? That was pretty awesome. Back on topic, I HATED 90% of this show. When Batista lifted HHH onto his shoulders, and Flair gave him the thumbs-up, I also, was waiting for the electric chair drop. All I want to say is WWE had better have something big planned for Batista's turn. THis has been built up for way too long for them to fuck it up now. CBright7831 0 Report post Posted January 10, 2005 Let's just accept the fact that by the time HHH is done, he will have more title reigns than Ric Flair. he has only seven more to go to beat it.
Eclipse 0 Report post Posted January 10, 2005 I enjoyed most of the PPV. The crowd was hot, the matches were good. I enjoyed the Maven promo....yes...I did. The moment which I cringed at was of course HHH winning the title. Once again, we have HHH as champ. HOPEFULLY, he only holds that title until WM21. I wanna see Batista vs. HHH....NO ORTON. Angle-plex 0 Report post Posted January 10, 2005 I take JBL reign over HHH's anyday and twice on Sunday. You'd take bumbling idiot honky tonk man Bradshaw's title reign over a title reign by a guy that's booked to be 2x better than the entire roster? The JBL character is entertaining. The HHH character is not. But Bradshaw's a midcarder that can't win a match without serious cheating and isn't looked at as a threat by anyone. Not to mention that I'll never forgive him for making me sit through his awful SummerSlam '04 match with Undertaker. Trips has been booked to be better than everyone else on the roster, so people can actually buy him as a credible champion. Trips was obviously going to win anyways. Benoit had lost momentum, Edge and Batista aren't ready, Orton still has to wait, and Jericho is Jericho.

JBL has entertained me all last year more than Triple H ever did in the last 3 years. and I consider JBL's 7 month reign much more entertaining than all of Trips shitty 5 reigns with the World title. JBL has never pissed me off as much as Triple H has. Triple H > JBL. and thats my personal opinon.
The Ghost of bps21 0 Report post Posted January 10, 2005 I'm more pro JBL than HHH at this point too. Of course I invented HHHating...so that's not worth much. I don't even care that he won the title back to be honest. I'm just sick of how many shows end the exact same way.
Art Sandusky 0 Report post Posted January 10, 2005 The sports bar totally died when Batista was eliminated. Some people even left before the match ended, heard saying "I don't give a shit what happens now" and other variants. I suppose they could further this by HHH taking all the credit for his win or have Batista ask why he didn't help him out when he was RKOed, since HHH was just kinda sitting back and watching Batista get pinned. I picked Edge to win, so much for that.
King Cucaracha 0 Report post Posted January 10, 2005 Either way, despite the fact that the undercard was absolutely terrible, I have to give credit to Maven for a brilliant mic performance in his match. Say what you want, but he was able to hold that crowd in the palm of his hand. This cocky heel thing really should work out well for him. He really just needs to learn how to work a better match, which is going to come to him in time, but I definitely saw glimmers of Rock-like micwork tonight. I'm not sure about Rock-like, but I agree he did a very good job. Especially considering he probably had to go longer than he expected. Trish/Lita seemed destined for around 10 minutes before Lita got injured, so Maven probably had to fill some time. And on the subject, credit to Trish for making the best out of a bad situation with Lita.
SuperJerk 0 Report post Posted January 10, 2005 Seriously, some of you need to lay off the crack, come to reason, and quietly get off the ridiculous Batista bandwagon. Batista's such a pimp, he doesn't have a bandwagon. He has a ho train.

I don't think they should play it like that. Part of the beauty of this "almost feud" is that Batista has been in 100% control. Every time Batista does something, for once HHH looks completely shocked and helpless. Instead, they should have Batista join the praise-HHH bandwagon, but after every compliment say "Of course, if it weren't for me you wouldn't be wearing that belt. Ha ha ha, just kidding." That puts Batista in the driver's seat again. And when the split finally comes (and it goddamn well better), it should be BATISTA that makes the break. Have HHH spew some of his shit, and then Batista says very calmly "You know, I think I've had just about enough of you," and then powerbomb HHH through a table, knocking him cold. He should then say to a stunned Ric Flair "When he wakes up, tell him I'll be back for my belt." That would make the crowd jizz itself. Part of the reason we don't buy Randy Orton as a legit challenger to HHH is that HHH has 100% controlled the feud. Orton did fuck all to harass and torment HHH. In fact, he only got his title shot back after Bischoff let him into the Elimination Chamber without any real explanation.
Dark Age 0 Report post Posted January 10, 2005 Saving it for Raw when more people are watching or even for the Rumble would be best because more people would buy that then NYR. Which just pisses off the people who bought New Year's Revolution. PPVs are so pointless. Why pay when the important (ha) stuff happens on TV? Really, the only person getting a bigger face reaction then Batista recently is...well...Triple H. lmao. (at times) The only time I've heard Triple H get a face reaction, recently, was last night. The crowd still favoured Batista over him. I enjoyed most of the PPV. The crowd was hot, the matches were good. I enjoyed the Maven promo....yes...I did. In what alternate universe do those matches qualify as "good"? Hey, how bout that Randy Orton? He sure is over, huh? I'm surprised that no one's mentioned how Triple H managed to, AGAIN, make himself look like a huge babyface. Three German suplexes? Check. A diving headbutt from the top of the chamber? Check. Surviving in the Walls Of Jericho/Crossface combo for 45 FUCKING seconds? Check. God, I hate that man. POSITIVES OF NEW YEAR'S REVOLUTION! Christian's entrance gear, and his entrance music. William Regal's rocking new jacket. Eugene-A-Mania! Daivari praising Allah for Hassan's kickout. Hassan's music. Maven's mic work. Trish's outfit. Rosey in the pool, in FULL RING GEAR! Me laughing at Orton's lack of popularity. That is all.

Guest LooneyTune Report post Posted January 10, 2005 Anyone else surprised they blew off Kane/Snitsky clean? What next for those guys? If anyone thought Kane wasn't going over clean tonight, they need to be slapped across the face with a dildo. It was more obvious than Hunter winning the Chamber. Any other result would make zero sense (well, most show overall made zero sense, but thats not the point). I guess I need to be slapped across the face with a dildo then. I expected the feud to continue until WM I guess. Wait did I just type that? The feud may not be over. Snitsky can always go after the Undertaker at the Rumble PPV to set up a Tag Match of Catastrophic Proportions.

Guest jumpingbombangel Report post Posted January 10, 2005 Hey, how bout that Randy Orton? He sure is over, huh? Randy Orton is that bastard you knew in high school that always got good grades and all the school accolades just because he was the "star player." Only thing is, Randy Orton is slower than LA traffic at rush hour and not even close to being the star player on the WWE's team. Yet he reaps ALL the benefits by getting pushed and programmed with HHH even though the majority (other than those gawking at his hawt boday) is sick of him. He's HHH Level 2...yet he's still a babyface? Batista is the other guy on the high school team that's worthy of more due than the so-called star player but rarely gets the accolades. To me, Batista is so much more over than Randy Orton by uttering only a few choice words than sitting through an entire flubbed Orton promo. Less is more. Guest Fook_Theta Report post Posted January 10, 2005 The same people loving Batista's poor acting and bad skits, will hate them if this keeps being drug out without an end in sight. Wrestlemania is a good place to finally shoot this wad, then move on to HHH getting knocked the fuck out for six months so Big Dave can feud with someone more worthy of putting on a strong-style showing. If he learns to sell through-out the entire match and not do any more powermoves until he "Hulks up", then we could finally be looking at a good reign by a someone other than HHH. Exslade ZX 0 Report post Posted January 10, 2005 To me, Batista is so much more over than Randy Orton by uttering only a few choice words than sitting through an entire flubbed Orton promo. Less is more. Well, when all Batista has done is, as you said 'utter a few choice words' and gotten in a few sly, and actually clever remarks at HHH....while Randy Orton, for one, won the world title out of no where, and then spent the remaining month running from HHH...unless he had a weapon, which at times gave the effect that pretty much he was..'scared', then well...yea, you can see why. IMO, if Evo had stayed together, and Orton was given the same lines/backstage segments etc. as Batista is right now, he'd be a hell of a lot more over. Fact is, the WWE is doing a hell of a job with the Batista push. Not to much, not to little. Something they did not do with Orton. So, what'd you expect?
