2GOLD Posted January 9, 2005 Report Posted January 9, 2005 I don't see Coach Carter doing extremely well, but it will get a solid 15 million. I think Electra will grab a cool 22 million. And the Fockers will remain #1 with about 23 million. White Noise should tumble to 10 million or less.

Instead of trying to desegregate the football team, Coach Carter is about making sure the players are as good in the classrooms as they are on the courts. And the parents' reactions to the idea that the Coach's players should be smart as well as good basketball players. Something like that.

It nearly got the coach beaten to death by insanely anger parents. It is based on a true story and will probably be much more accurate than some of the others. It COULD do good but I don't know.

cabbageboy Posted January 11, 2005 Report Posted January 11, 2005 I sorta think that Coach Carter is a sports version of Lean on Me. The whole "lock the doors of the gym" thing echoes the part in that where Morgan Freeman locked the school doors to prevent people from leaving and/or getting in.

bob_barron Posted January 12, 2005 Report Posted January 12, 2005 I'm surprised Finding Neverland isn't doing that well. It's a very good movie and is a nice feel good movie that appeals to everyone. I think it will pick back up once the Oscar race kicks into overdrive. I saw Million Dollar Baby the weekend it came out- awesomeness
