I'm tempted to pick New England over Atlanta, and that's probably what it will be, but it's tough to pick Philly losing a 4th straight NFC Title game.

 

Either way New England has got this though.

New England over Philly. I see Philly making it to the Super Bowl but losing on account of no TO. New England, wow they're on fire. I normally hate them but they are definitely earning my respect.

As much as I want it to be Pittsburgh over Atlanta, its tough for me to pick against New England. I really want Philly to lose again, but I don't think it'll happen. I voted:

That's what I said. NE was great yesterday, but I think Pittsburgh's D can contain NE's offense, and Pittsburgh will do enough on the ground to win the game.

 

Atlanta defense can at least contain McNabb. The running game should also have success next week.

let's put it this way: in the AFC, Atlanta might have made the playoffs. Maybe. Even without TO, Philly should beat them without too much trouble.

That was with TO in the lineup. Mitchell looks good yesterday, but that was against Minnesota and frankly that doesn't even count.

I think he may just stand around and do what he wants like he did against Minn. Hell if they allowed KC to run all over them then McNabb, Westbrook, and Levens should be able to go wild.

The key is the offensive line. If they give McNabb the same amount of time to sit back in the pocket as they did last week, he'll shred the Falcons secondary. It'll be much tougher this time as Kerney and Coleman are going to be quite a challenge to block.

I went with NE over Atlanta, the Patriots just plain keep winning and i'm not going to go against that, and i'm not going with Philly until they show they can actually win in the big games. My head says Philly should win, but don't trust them to pull it off, and it pains me to have to predict the crappy Falcons in the Superbowl since they'll just get hammered and continue the alternating good/bad Superbowls.

I can't believe three people pick Atlanta over New England. Based on what? Michael Vick is an incredible talent, but the Patriots aren't going to get beat by one man. The Falcons' recievers are a joke, and while I'm sure Vick would break off a few of his signature runs, the Patriots wouldn't let him dictate the pace of the game. It's not going to be 60 minutes of people chasing Mike Vick. For every positive run he gets there'll be a handfull of incompletes and meaningless scrambles. Warrick Dunn shredded STL, but let's be real, he would not repeat that performance against NE, and we know that ATL's defense is vulnerable when facing a two-front offense.

I want the Eagles in the Super Bowl more than anything else. But if they didn't make it I'm glad it's the Falcons going just so that the monster defenses at either NE or Pitt can tear his ass apart and just make him look foolish.

Man, everyone was waiting for Ben to have a bad game and when he finally did (despite the Steelers winning anyway) I had to get out of the way of the stampede of people jumping off the bandwagon.

 

Ben's not going to play that bad two weeks in a row. He led a pretty good drive for the winning FG last week so I think the rough start he had was a combination of playoff jitters and trying to hard to get Plax in the game instead of establishing the run like they always do.

 

I think the Steelers D can keep the NE offense in check. Yeah, Brady's going to get a big play or two but I think we can count to Troy getting a pick or two and Haggins and/or Foote getting a sack as well.

 

I see no reason why Bettis won't punish the NE D-line like he's done to every other team he faces, and how is their patchwork secondary gonna cover Plax when he's 6 inches taller than the tallest Patriot DB? The Steelers WRs aren't going to be babies like the Colts' WRs and complain about some contact. Hell, Hines is probably going to take some motherfuckers out on a run play anyway.

 

I've said it all along, the only way the Steelers can lose is if they fuck it up themselves, and after last week they didn't even lose then.

He's the starter of a Super Bowl caliber team that has won 15 straight games. And winning 15 straight isn't easy so you aren't going to get the best out of everyone all 15 games.

 

I still said during the draft I thought he would be better than Manning. I remember asking during the Top 10: Why hasn't anyone drafted Big Ben yet?

So I'm happy for the guy. I really am. But I don't think he's super man. And I think that's what a lot of the people on the Steel Bandwagon thought.

 

Now before you start accusing me of being a bandwagoner I'm not saying I'm a fan of the Steelers or anything. It's just I'm happy for Big Ben.

Think about it, the kid had the bad game everyone was waiting for and the Steelers still won. Yeah there was some luck involved, but when it came time to get the job done they did it.

 

I remember watching Miami of Ohio in a bowl game and I was watching Ben do his thing and I thought "man that kid is going to be good". I never thought he'd still be available when the Steelers had their pick. Of course that's the main reason he was still around, everyone seemed to think he was only good in college because he played for a MAC team. Funny how now the MAC is the next hotbed of QBs since Ben and Leftwich, but hindsight and all that.

 

But the Steelers proved Ben doesn't have to be super man, he just has to calm down and do what he's been doing and the rest of the team will help him carry the load. If everyone plays to their potential I don't think there's a team that can beat them.

 

Honestly I think they looked past the Jets and it almost cost them. Now they know it can be over quick if they mess up. I'm expecting a more focused Steeler team and that's bad news for the Pats.

It would be 2 weeks of Jarome Bettis mucking up to the camera and TO repeating "I dont know" when being asked a hundred thousand times about his status. Big Ben doing his "Im still surprised Im here. It's a fantasy world man" sthick...McNabb would be boring as he usually is but will offer nice soundbites. Likely some unknown Linesman does something Illegal 3 days before the event to give it a stinky feel.

I've been saying all along that he was in for a reality check and that the Pitt bandwagon was WAY out of control, and last week should have been the end of their season. They got a fucking gift from the Jets, and the Patriots are bloodthirsty for revenge after that week 8 game, where Dillon was scratched at game time and Law got hurt the first series. Pitt put up a good first quarter against a team scrambling from injuries, end of story. That Game was basically Gay and Moreland's first action of the season. Pitt will be overmatched against a determined NE team that can actually plan for the matchup having a concrete idea of who is playing.

These playoffs are terribly boring. The only team that had been making it interesting were the Jets, and they squandered their own chance away at being an underdog favorite, which is a shame because I was really digging the way they were playing. With that said, we'll go with the same ol', same ol'... Patriots win another close game that has everyone wondering how the hell they beat the Steelers afterwards, Eagles choke again in the NFC Championship as they set their sights on next year's SB WITH T.O. this time, and we have ourselves yet another flat Falcon performance in the Super Bowl with NE yet again winning a championship.

I am so sick of people pulling that out of their asses. Atlanta was missing two defensive linemen, two linebackers and 2 members of their starting secondary and a backup corner in that game. missing 6 starters and a backup....the Chiefs were playing against the preseason second half defense.

Because everything that New england is good at, Atlanta's defense excels at stopping.

 

because New England is 5-8 when facing an opposing QB for the first time under Bill, and facing Vick for the first time is no easy task.

 

Because Atlanta has a three headed running force that gives you three different looks, and have a defense and special teams that can give them good field position to use it.

 

I would still pick the Pats, but if Atlanta beat them, I wouldn't be suprised.

 

 

And once again....11-3 this year with him as a starter. That shit isn't a fluke.
