Well Dama is suggesting that Bruschi can keep up with him. Tedy Bruschi is a great player, but he doesn't have the speed or agility to keep up with Vick.

New England over Philly, but I'm rooting for Pittsburgh over Philly/Atlanta, as long as New England doesn't make it AGAIN.

I'll say this, ESPN is Not Work Safe to go to today because there is so much dick sucking going on there, its basically a porn.

I expect Bill Simmons to suck off anything Boston, but JESUS...Chris Mortensen is REALLY sucking them off.

Noone had EVER again say that ESPN doesn't fellate New England EVER again. EVER.

Oh say it ain't so, the New England options are in the lead at forums.thesmartmarks.com, I don't believe it

If you believe it's because of the New England fans here, you're probably wrong. Watching NE play is a beauitful thing, especially during last week's demolishing of the Colts. I wish the Pack could play as hard and as well-executed as they do, to be honest. And it's difficult to argue with 2 super bowls in 3 years, going for a 3rd one in 4, it shouldn't be all that surprising that non-NE fans also would be picking them.

On the flipside, there's quite possibly more Eagles fans here than Pats fans, I don't think it's as unbalanced as you believe it is.

Yeah, and it only took completely shutting down the "greatest offensive team in NFL history".

Going into the game on Sunday, you'd have thought that the Pats were the 3rd most likely to win in the AFC, and maybe 4th or 5th overall. And then, both the AFC teams ahead of them stumbled (barely beating the Jets and losing badly to the Pats) and the NFC teams beat teams with enough question marks to detract from their accomplishment (beating 8-8 teams in the 2nd round of the playoffs is really not that monumental).

Thus, almost by elimination, NE is the team that is getting their pole smoked this week.

Holy christ, Ripper just prompted me to read Simmons' column (Mortensen looks to be Insider which I don't have, but the brief summary looks amusing) and he is being such a little bitch to the point where I hope the Steelers fucking romper stomp them this week just to shut him the fuck up. Wah, people thought a defense with Earthwind Moreland might have a hard time stopping this offense, how dare they?!?

You don't even have to get all the way to the Mortensen article. in the preface he says he would take Tom Brady over John FUCKING Elway, Troy Aikman, Joe Montana, Roger Staubach and Terry Bradshaw.

What in the ever loving fuck.

OK, that's seriously pushing it. Although the way I see Brady is he's a bit of a mixture between Aikman (he's got the accuracy down pat) and Montana (duh). Definitely wouldn't take him over Staubach and Bradshaw though, Staubach was an extremely smart player and Bradshaw had a hell of an arm.

NO IT IS NOT THAT IS WHY I HATE THEM

There's nothing compelling, flashy, interesting, or cool about the Patriots. I don't appreciate their games because they suck to watch. Speaking as the polar opposite of a football purist, I can't stand the Patriots style of play.

This is what I suspected. Too bad offense doesn't win championships.

And how does a Bears fan not like defense?!

The Patriots DEFENSE is a beautiful thing to watch. hell, Corey Dillon running is a beautiful thing to watch. Watching the recievers make first downs by breaking tackles and fighting for yards...great. Listening to announcers suck off Brady for throwing a 5 yard dump pass....annoying as hell.

I mean, its just as annoying when i saw them praise Michael Vick on his ability to THROW THE FUCKING BALL AWAY, but jeez. I don't see anyone calling Vick one of the greatest QB's of all time.

You are right, defense wins championships. They've won two for New England.

Technically, he DIDN'T say that ... he said that they have nothing over him as a money quarterback. Regardless of how much someone likes or loathes the Pats, the fact that Brady is undefeated in the playoffs & has an amazing record in big games can't be denied. Everyone else that you mentioned lost big games ... so far, Brady hasn't. (especially "John FUCKING Elway" ... how many SB's did he lose?)

And, pinjockey, the recent Bill Simmons article is among the least biased that he's done ... they're normally MUCH worse than that. Plus, did you really think a guy who calls himself "Boston Sports Guy" wouldn't be biased towards the Boston-based team? If Simmons called himself "Pittsburgh Sports Guy", you don't think he'd be tripping over his dick to blow smoke up the Steelers' asses? Think of the source ... it's like when people quote a blatantly liberal source to 'prove' that Bush is a bad president. Biases exist, people.

I can't believe three people pick Atlanta over New England.  Based on what?  Michael Vick is an incredible talent, but the Patriots aren't going to get beat by one man.  The Falcons' recievers are a joke, and while I'm sure Vick would break off a few of his signature runs, the Patriots wouldn't let him dictate the pace of the game.  It's not going to be 60 minutes of people chasing Mike Vick.  For every positive run he gets there'll be a handfull of incompletes and meaningless scrambles.  Warrick Dunn shredded STL, but let's be real, he would not repeat that performance against NE, and we know that ATL's defense is vulnerable when facing a two-front offense.

Because everything that New england is good at, Atlanta's defense excels at stopping.

because New England is 5-8 when facing an opposing QB for the first time under Bill, and facing Vick for the first time is no easy task.

Because Atlanta has a three headed running force that gives you three different looks, and have a defense and special teams that can give them good field position to use it.

I would still pick the Pats, but if Atlanta beat them, I wouldn't be suprised.

And once again....11-3 this year with him as a starter. That shit isn't a fluke.

I find it funny that STILL people are saying dude isn't that good. I bet if he wins the super bowl Dama will still be inhere suggesting that he sucks.

I won't say he sucks but I still wouldn't believe him to be as good as hyped.

Because right now he's hyped at this amazing super man that defies all logic and wins games single handedly.

Yes the Falcons are better with him. Yes he is a good playmaker.

Is he one of the best QB's in the league? Not a chance.

Listening to the hype you'd think the guy has one a super bowl and had an undefeated season every year that he plays.

And I think the Pats defense will handle him fine. Hell the Eagles D will handle him just find. I want to see Jevon Kearse jump his ass from behind and cause a fumble which is very likely to happen since he seems to have trouble holding onto that ball.

Be nice if the New England defense could get some more credit instead of all of it going to the great and powerful Tom Brady.

It's so strange being a Patriots fan who dislikes Brady so damn much. Just something about him makes me hate him.

The only thing I don't like about Tom Brady is all of the "He's so cute and GQ!" shit. The guys a football player for gods sake! He's not supposed to be pretty! Joe Montana wasn't pretty!

*this post is sort of in jest*

Wait a minute....he kinda looks like Sean William Scott.

THAT EXAMPLES IT!

I HATE Sean William Scott.

Add on the "I'm a Michigan quarterback" and it all makes sense.

And after reading the Bill Simmons article, he did have a line I liked alot.

This was about respect. This was about four letters ("team") meaning more than five letters ("stats"). This was about a great team taking care of business at home, because that's what great teams do.

That is actually 100% true. And it's the same reason something inside of me says I pick the Steelers. Great teams win at home, it's what they do. It may not be pretty, it may not be a dominating win, but the best win at home.

He looked like a vampire or werewolf during that press conference, if any of you had happened to catch it.

I'm picking a Falcon/Patriot Super Bowl. Although the playoffs mean nothing to mean now, with the Jets losing sucking the all the energy away, the Falcons are probably the team i'll be rooting to win out of the four. The Pats will beat the Steelers by 2 TD's this Sunday, and Ben will throw 3 picks. The Eagles will choke away another win, as long as the Falcons keep pressuring McNabb.

As for the Super Bowl, the Falcons beating New England would be the only thing that could save this very disappointing end to this season.

nl, I read him regularly and I thought this was the most annoying thing he has ever written. I understood his three months of just Red Sox writing, I get a little irritated at his of-late attitude that anything done different from New England must be completely idiotic but I can live with it, but to throw a complete hissy fit because people picked against your team is the stuff reserved for the lowest level of fans.

Man, I just realized that the football season has only less than 3 weeks left. What am I going to watch until Spring Training (anyone that says "the Celtics" is getting hurt)?

Anyway, I don't know which to pick. Pats-Falcons would probably be the most interesting matchup with the whole "Belichick vs. Vick" thing, but I believe if they can reel in Vick and Dunn, that the game would turn out for the Falcons much like the LAST time they were in the SB.

If it ends up being Eagles-Steelers, the game should be moved from Jacksonvlle to Beaver Stadium at Penn State. Think about it, huge stadium in the middle of Pennsylvania(I think Philly and Pittsburgh are probably both halfway from it), split the tickets 50-50 between the two teams and play the game there. It'd be an awesome way to have the All-Pennsylvania Super Bowl.

I'm going to be busy figuring out whether the Jets will keep LaMont Jordan or not. They have already said Abraham will stay, but Jordan wants to start. I just hope they re-sign him, he'd be great splitting the carries with Martin, and once Martin retires he can take over. He's only 26. Also checking out if they make a play at Plaxico Burress.

Other than that, I have no idea what i'll be doing other than watching the Knicks lose 2 point games to the Chicago Bulls.

Different strokes for different folks, I guess ... while I do admit to being a wicked homer for the Pats, I really felt that this was among his less biased writing. Well, at least compared to the fellatio that he gives the entire Sox organization.

And, I can't stress enough: I have NO IDEA how people that aren't from this area read his articles. I avoid Rick Reilly purely because he wrote ONE article that I thought was biased against the Red Wings and for the Avalanche and then found out that he lives in Colorado. I don't want/expect my national writers to have regional biases.

Simmons doesn't write EVERY SINGLE one of his articles on Boston teams. Like he says, he's probably one of the nine fans that the NBA has left, and writes some good stuff on it. He's even a Clippers season ticket holder (must have found them in a box of Cheerios).

Besides, he has a right to vent after everyone and their mother was picking the Colts last week, at least I think he does.

Tom Brady = Randy Orton of the NFL

He just needs to start doing that cheesy pose after every single completion...

And yo, 2Gold, everyone knows our defense is why we win, Brady simply facillitates victory. All the love this week has gone to the D, Belichick, and Dillon, with Brady 4th on the list.

How you can be a Patriots fan and hate the guy I have no idea, were you around during the Bledsoe days? Forget about the media, the dick sucking and the haters, and just sit back and enjoy a great team and QB while it lasts.

Brady can't be the Orton of the NFL. He's actually the best at his position. (Well, Orton isn't the best wrestler in the WWE. Whatever)

Brady is definitely not the best at his position. Joe Montana wasn't better than Marino and Elway, no matter how many Super Bowl rings he has.
