that ABC Special was total bullshit, I didn't find it interesting at all...Corey Clark is talking out of his ass and is just trying to garnish attention for his musical career which sounds like it's really going to suck from the little snippets we heard...

 

Lushus, I was extremely skeptical of this going in and dont get me wrong, Corey Clark is still an asshole and a snitch. However, there is too much evidence there and too much work not involving a presidental election for ABC and Corey to fake the whole thing. Paula's phone message was the clincher for me. She's gone next year.

Dont quote me on this but generally speaking ABC has done well overall in the drama department. Theyre sitcoms...well, yeah. However even if they were in such bad shape you cant fake store reciepts, phone bills and fake Paula Abdul sound-alikes. Its too much work for all of this to be an elaborate scheme. I have a pretty good bullshit detector, and I really dont see it here. Also, I agree, ABC wants to take Fox out no doubt about that but again there were too many specific details for this to be bullshit IMO.

It's not like Paula has any say in the actual outcome of the show...it's not like Paula caused him to beat up his sister and thus get booted off...so they fucked? so what, you know? The fans vote based largely on the judges reaction. If she goes to him and tells him "Hey listen, Randy loves this song. Sing it and he'll definitely give you a positive reaction". That's an unfair advantage.

 

The fans also vote on appearance (the teenybopper crowd). If she goes and spends $400 on him for clothes and a haircut. That's an unfair advantage.

There's a difference between giving contestants a tip or two and spending HOURS with a contestant, working with them on every aspect.

The kid didn't even know who Randy Jackson was. When she told him about the Journey song that Randy loved so much, he said he had never even heard of Journey. Without Paula, he would have never sung the song and won Randy's approval.

You make a great point Lushus, I was not saying that I 100 percent knew or belived RJ to be racist , but when the elton john thign was brought up it made me think. Randy is typically "paula lite" as you said. but it seems like he always picks on the same contestants and praises the same ones, and sometimes the ones he praises constantly are the black contestants(well this year he seems to always praise Vonzell). but hey, its up to the fans vote right?
