Vonz: Better, but not special enough to avoid teh Axe.

 

Bo: A very smart calcualted risk. He is in theTop 3, so we know he has thegoods vocally. So he makes this "bold move" that isnt that bold. The song its slf was great, but will get vastly overrated due to it being a gimmick.

 

Carrie: Just as great as Bo's. Will get over shadowed since it wasnt gimmicked.

 

Bo and Carrie are neck-and-neck here. Vonz better pull one out of her ass, or she is done.

Whatever. Gimmick or not, that took huge balls and 90% of every singer that was ever on this show would have crumbled on the stage in that situation.

Those 90% are all kicked off by the final 3. And I dont care If I got a frickin Orchestra behind me, performing in that type of inviroment is tough. So your a final 3 and you know you can perform infront of a crowd, its a smart risk to take. He would have had to blow HARD to get a bad reaction.

Bo: Very very Bo. Solid, good. Wasnt mind blowing, but very up his alley. Smart call by the Judges.

 

Carrie: Weird beginning, Awesome ending.

 

Tough call, for me, to say who was better. Both Carrie and Bo were ON their game. See ya Vonz.

Wrong. The only person that may have been able to pull that off is Kelly Clarkson. The rest of them...not a chance. As Mik said this was the greatest perfromance in AI history and IMO won him American Idol next week.

what the fuck? gimmick? how is that a gimmick? because he did something no one else did? whatever...that was the best vocal performance in the history of Idol, hands down...does it solidify him as the winner, no, but it was definently the best yet...

Bo's second song was incredible last night. It was the first time I've ever forgotten that I was watching AI and just enjoyed a performance. Amazing stuff. He'll have a successful album out even if he doesn't win this thing.

 

I thought it was a little unfair that Carrie had to immediately follow Bo's performance with Air Supply. She did a fine job, but even she seemed to realize that Bo had just blown the doors off the competition.

 

This all being said, I have a gut feeling that tonight is Bo's last night. No real reason behind it. I think that he should win, but I think that this is the end of the road for Bo.

I agree C Dub...I have this weird feeling he's gone tonight...the problem with him is that he had that awesome performance, and even his first song was great, but damn he really stunk up Satisfaction...

 

I guess that kinda tosses out the theory that Paula was giving tips to help Corey Clark win because she can't pick songs for shit...

If Bo gets eliiminated tonight, I quit American Idol. I still think he's easily sailing through and Satisfaction (which I didnt think was that bad) is irrelevant. I think he could've sang "Disco Duck" and gone through. Plus do you guys honestly see Carrie or Vonzell matching Bo in the finale? The only way that happens is if Bo rests on his laurels.

I think it's pretty obvious from here on out that Bo is the shining star. If he is out tonight, then Idol's just over...period.

Anyways, I agree with you that in the minds of this board, Bo should be winning. Whether he does or not is in the hands of the teenage dialing demons.

One thing that could help Bo tonight to counter the teenage dialers is that he is the odd sex out. By this I mean that he'll get the votes of people who want a male to win, while people who only vote for women are split between the two. I don't know how often this happens, but it could give Bo a boost.

 

Both Vonzell and Carrie are talented at least (although not my cup of tea), so it won't be insulting if either of them win.

I dunno bro, the last male was voted out when they were down to 6 last season and season 2 was an all male final...

 

I'd look at it more like Carrie and Vonzell are pretty interchangable as I think they're are equally talented...Carrie just needs to pull the stick out of her ass during her performances...

I think the teenage girls like Bo as well. Hell, I tried voting last night. TRIED. Using both of Bo's numbers and the redial function on my cell phone... I didn't get through once.

my prediction for next week: Bo goes balls to the wall and destroys Carrie in every performance...Carrie does her usual routine of singing great but standing motionless with a stick up her ass giving us robotic performances...Bo shows that he is clearly the favorite....America (or Fox since it's probably a work anyway) gets it wrong and votes for Carrie...

Carrie has really been surviving off of a couple of strong early performances and being really really cute. I personnally would have rather had a Vonzell/Bo final, but I am pleased that Bo made it through. Win or lose, it's impressive that he made it to the finals. Really on talent alone, which is a nice change of pace for this show.

Ruben made it mostly on talent, although like Bo he had a unique gimmick going for him ("Velvet Teddy Bear" for Ruben, Soul Rock (is that a subgenre?) singer for Bo).

 

Bo should win this thing, although I'm sure stranger things have happened. And I'm still waiting for the Scott Savol run-in...

I am always waiting for that white chick to piss her self and run off stage from stage fright when I see her "perform". It is really sad. but she has a good voice and is cute. Black chick, I didn't like her voice, and she was alrightish in looks, so hey, go with the good looking singer anyday in my book.

 

That goddamned Wonderful should win the thing though.

How does this week work? I never made it this far into a season before. Do they each get a half an hour set, or do they still rotate? Are any original songs performed, or is it still covers? Also, will they have a judges pick again?

 

I thought that Satisfaction was not a good song choice for Bo to do. The Stones version is just way to ingrained in everyone's head, that you can't really shine on it.

They'll each sing whatever song they will release as a single.

 

I think that you can't really say for sure this year, because Bo and Carrie are so different...there's no telling exactly what Fox will put together.

Unless Bo bombs next week he should win. However, the thing to watch for is that Carrie's fanbase ALWAYS votes. She hasn't been in the bottom 3 once even on off weeks.

I think Bo can be marketed pretty successfully for AAA (Adult/Album/Alternative) or AC radio. The biggest obstacle, as I see it, is getting a conglomerate such as ClearChannel to push him to the moon. You get CC to cooperate, he'll do well.

I dont see why Clear Channel would have a problem with him and youre right Kevin Hot AC (more so than AAA since there's not that many of those stations around) would eat him up.

I saw only parts of the special last night, as I was too busy watching a lousy episode of Smackdown. But what I saw had ROTFL. The Polish guy I think doing Elvis was classic. Of course we go to see KEITH again.
