I called up my friend who's a Vikings fan and laughed at him. I'm about to call my editor that said "Hey who cares about the Eagles? It's Michael Vick! Nobody can stop him! cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted January 23, 2005 Why is it that they are constantly playing the race thing with McNabb and the Doug Williams comparisons and yet when Steve McNair got there with the Titans there was hardly any mention of him being black at all? Was it just that everyone focused too much on the Titans getting the Music City Miracle and beating the Colts and Jags on the road? I'm glad everyone is so happy over the Eagles finally making it. I'm hoping to God it is against the Steelers. I just have this theory that the Eagles/Pats will be a truly dreadful borefest (we're talking 9-6 here) if it happens and I absolutely do not want to see that game. Besides, shouldn't the Eagles want to play the Steelers again and avenge how badly they got destroyed? One more thing about the Eagles....what is this shit with Freddie Mitchell? I mean all the nicknames and hype. At first I thought it was a tongue in cheek postmodern irony sort of thing, like a jobber player hyping himself as a joke. But then there's the revenge factor against the Steelers and I'm tired of the Patriots(as is everyone else that isn't a patriots fan). My entire newsroom told me the Eagles were going to lose. Everybody *HATED* them (Lurie was a Hollywood nothing whose claim to fame was "VI Warshowski", and Reid was a fat-ass QB coach who had an easy job working w/ Favre in GB, and didn't deserve the head coaching job), but now they're the best thing since sliced bread.
