Art Sandusky Posted February 6, 2005 Report Posted February 6, 2005 I haven't had it since Rams/Titans, but I woke up with that special Super Bowl Sunday feeling. Ah, how I missed it. Nothing'll match the morning of Patriots/Packers when I was so excited I kept failing to notice I was trying to use buttermilk for my cereal and wondered why it tasted like ass over and over again as I read every single word of coverage I could in the newspaper. Is there going to be a thread for talk during the game as well?
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted February 6, 2005 Report Posted February 6, 2005 Yes. We'll have a separate thread for the game itself (someone else will need to start it). There also might be a game chatter thread, if someone wants to start one. I doubt I'll be at my computer for the game.
Art Sandusky Posted February 6, 2005 Report Posted February 6, 2005 Oh, I know I won't be near my computer. I was just wondering.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted February 6, 2005 Report Posted February 6, 2005 And guys, if the Super Bowl threads get hairy at times, try to keep your heads.
Edwin MacPhisto Posted February 6, 2005 Report Posted February 6, 2005 And guys, if the Super Bowl threads get hairy at times, try to keep your heads. General Patton in the house.
therealworldschampion Posted February 6, 2005 Author Report Posted February 6, 2005 I won't be here for the game, I'm going to a Super Bowl party with an open bar from 5 to 11. I'd like to say that it's been a great season, and win or lose, I'll be here tomorrow to either celebrate or congratulate the Pats fans here. I won't talk too much shit if they win(I probably can't say the same for UTSU though.....)
Guest Vitamin X Posted February 6, 2005 Report Posted February 6, 2005 <------- Yeah, so go Pats and stuff.
Precious Roy Posted February 6, 2005 Report Posted February 6, 2005 we don't need you, stick to your own crappy teams
therealworldschampion Posted February 6, 2005 Author Report Posted February 6, 2005 <------- Yeah, so go Pats and stuff. Sorry, natural instinct there
Guest Vitamin X Posted February 6, 2005 Report Posted February 6, 2005 we don't need you, stick to your own crappy teams Fuck off, I'm a wellwisher. I always pick a team to cheer for on Super Bowl Sunday. And 10 of the last 13 times it's worked out in my favor, the lone exceptions being Rams-Titans, Packers-Broncos, and Cowboys-Steelers.
Guest The Shadow Behind You Posted February 6, 2005 Report Posted February 6, 2005 It's hilarious to see the bitchy and angry "Jacksonville sucks" consensus from the reporters and such; don't they realize they are going into something even worst next year? Instead of dealing "unbearable" 50 temperture and slight fog and rain, they will be shoveling snow every three steps they take, wearing 3-4 layers of heavy clothing. I'm tired of the "They should only play @ New Orleans, Miami, San Diego and add Las Vegas" mentality. I'm sick of seeing those towns get it over and over again.
KingPK Posted February 6, 2005 Report Posted February 6, 2005 Anyone else catch the Best Darn Road Show Period totally screech to a halt when John Salley actually let out a "damn"? You've got to be kidding me. What is this, 1957? FOX may be a wee scared of the FCC this year.
KingPK Posted February 6, 2005 Report Posted February 6, 2005 So anyone think the Eagles will forego the individual intros this year and come out as a team? I would think TO would come out of the tunnel on crutches, drop them, and do the Ray Lewis dance again. I would be lying if I said I wouldn't mark a bit for that.

I would think TO would come out of the tunnel on crutches, drop them, and do the Ray Lewis dance again. I would be lying if I said I wouldn't mark a bit for that. Hasn't the team thing became the thing to do since the Pats did it in 2001? I don't think the Patriots have done the individual introductions ever. Well, maybe 1985 but they would probably like to forget that. Oh and 1996....damn you Desmond Howard.
Bored Posted February 6, 2005 Report Posted February 6, 2005 I hope the NFL makes both teams do individual introductions. The coming out as a team thing was cute the first time the Patriots did it but when both teams did it last year it was just annoying. Hell I wish they'd introduce both the offensive and defensive starters for both teams instead of just one unit.

It's the whole Patriots thing, that they may not have the better players but they have the team concept.

That would be the greatest thing ever...
The Czech Republic Posted February 6, 2005 Report Posted February 6, 2005 That takes too long to do all the offense and defense, but yeah the Eagles better not do this team crap. Stupid Patriots. What's next, taking the names off the jerseys?
therealworldschampion Posted February 6, 2005 Author Report Posted February 6, 2005 According to Sal Paolontonio on ESPN, Koy Detmer nearly caused a riot by coming out of the team hotel to the bus wearing a grey pinstripe suit with a matching fedora and a cane. Considering that Koy usually buys $100 worth of clothes at Target for the year, this is hysterical....
Guest The Shadow Behind You Posted February 6, 2005 Report Posted February 6, 2005 They actually let Koy Detmer ride the bus?
tpww7 Posted February 6, 2005 Report Posted February 6, 2005 If anyone is bored during ther ENDLESS pregame.. AIM Chat : TSMSuperbowl
Guest Vitamin X Posted February 6, 2005 Report Posted February 6, 2005 Oh and 1996....damn you Desmond Howard. Oh boohoo. The Packers dominated that game from start to finish. Howard's kickoff return for a TD only put the nail in the coffin of an otherwise really boring game. Well, it wasn't boring for me, but you get the idea.
Cartman Posted February 6, 2005 Report Posted February 6, 2005 Yea Bledsoe started showing his true colors in that game. 4 Int's, blech.

As a fan of neither team I didnt find that game boring at all it was an up tempo game that was a lot of fun to watch. Not the best SB ever mind you but far from the worst.
Guest Vitamin X Posted February 6, 2005 Report Posted February 6, 2005 I felt it was pretty nondescript. The energy was certainly there though, much like there'll be tonight for Eagles fans or if there would have been Steeler fans there.
Guest pinnacleofallthingsmanly Posted February 6, 2005 Report Posted February 6, 2005 It was pretty good compared to the previous Super Bowls. Super Bowl XXX was kind of close but all of the Super Bowls before that were blowouts and NFC wins.
CBright7831 Posted February 6, 2005 Report Posted February 6, 2005 I'm glad FOX got it this year. They always make the pre-game show entertaining.
Art Sandusky Posted February 6, 2005 Report Posted February 6, 2005 Off I go, I'm saying Eagles by 10.
Cartman Posted February 6, 2005 Report Posted February 6, 2005 I just now noticed that of the 4 Superbowls Fox has had, the Pats were in 3 of them. Yeah. Pointless I know.
