NYU 0 Report post Posted January 31, 2005 Awesome, awesome show. Congrats to Axel on winning the Rumble! Although I did know it was going to happen already.... And congrats to Drek Stone! Made AJ Flaire say I-Quit. W0W~!~! I'm going to leave more feedback in the next few days. And unlike the other promises I've made, this one is actually genuine. Promise. CanadianChick 0 Report post Posted January 31, 2005 Zack sure had a busy night. All that losing must be tough! Great Rumble. I haven't read anything else in detail yet.
Patty O'Green 0 Report post Posted January 31, 2005 The Rumble was real good. Great job, Adam. Congrats on winning also. Did you write all of it by yourself? Everything else will get feedback later. I pinky swear!
Adam 0 Report post Posted January 31, 2005 Great show guys, and thanks for the props regarding the Rumble. Hoff was nice enough to write from the opening bell until PRL came out, so I thank him very much for that. I wrote before the match, and from when PRL came out until the end. Massive props to Drek for a great title match. He wrote it alone, because I had the Rumble to do, so I thank him for having no qualms about that. I enjoyed what I read, and I will most probably read more later. Until then, great stuff by everyone. AngleMania is looking like its going to be huge. Tony149 0 Report post Posted January 31, 2005 Add me to the list of people who enjoyed Anglepalooza. I've only managed to skim the matches as I've been busy writing the BT-COD rematch for HeldDOWN, but I really liked what I read. Like the others have said, the Rumble was great, the decision to drop it down to 15 really helped, and it showed. I think it was Cappa who suggested we have the guys do a little promo before the Rumble match, and while it wasn't everybody, I thought the promos from Cappa, Black T and GPX worked well. For what it's worth, the show was posted around 8:30, but then the board went down. Also, the Phenom-Geddon match will be edited in later on. Rando was busy and regrets not be able to have the match done, but it will be added, so be on the look out for that.
Mystery Eskimo 0 Report post Posted January 31, 2005 And add me to the list of people who enjoyed it and will try to do full feedback later. In the mean time, I thought the I Quit match was excellent, putting Drek over as a total cold hearted bastard while still making Flaire look good in the extreme measures it took to beat him. The Lethal Rumble was the other match I read fully, and this was damn good too. It didn't really get much build up, but it still came over as a big time match. There were some really nice touches in there, like Cappa and PRL going at it again. And Zack getting the cheap elimination on Dan was cool too. The bastard. Guest Failed Mascot Report post Posted January 31, 2005 CABOOSE I hear he was rehabbing with that Terrell Owens. They're both whiny bitches. Yes! Oh My God, YES!!! Hoff rox0rs Trying to make a man quit by pouring Mountain Dew on him is brilliant. I use to drink that stuff when I was stoned. Since I stopped smoking pot I stopped drinking Mountain Dew. Evidently Mountain Dew and Pot go well together which makes the Pepsi Corporation drug dealers. He slides into the ring, and awaits number two. Uh-huh-huh-huh...number two No more Alf makes me a sad panda. Great show though.
King Cucaracha 0 Report post Posted January 31, 2005 Big ups to Papacita for writing the glut of the 4-Way, sending it to me to finish and allowing me to be credited with writing at the end while he got zilch in writing credit. Big ups. In all seriousnes though, great job to Papa on the 4 Way and from what I read, good job to prety much everyone. A stellar way to start the year. Guest Failed Mascot Report post Posted January 31, 2005 Oh, and while I'm thinking of it I was kinda disappointed that CWM wasn't in the rumble. I was hoping to see him make his return in the Rumble as a surprise entrant, like the WWF/E has done with some returning/debuting wrestlers in the past. Patty O'Green 0 Report post Posted February 1, 2005 Rumble was great, the decision to drop it down to 15 really helped Let’s remember who’s idea this was. Mine! It’s good to see PR back because I was just about to point out there aren’t enough main event heels. There’s exactly one and he’s the champ. I guess you could count Zack but he was in the tag team division when I came to my conclusion. Jumbo! Hooray! I knew there was a reason I don’t hate Hoff! I already told Tony what I thought about the NNMX/Saints match. I never did ask him why he wanted to pair The Saints with JC anyway. Tony why did you want The Saints to be aligned with Cornette? Pretty colors in the Drek Stone match. I was kind of surprised to see AJ Flaire say I quit. But I didn’t think he would win. In fact I knew he wouldn’t win. Maybe I just thought the world was going to explode when it came time for the finish. AJ You wanted ME to say it?! YOU SAY IT!! SAY IT, DREK!! SAY IT!! DREK Oh, you can KISS MY ASS, AJ! That reminded me of something quarreling lovers would say to each other. I can just see Drek doing the little finger snap as he prepares to throw AJ’s Diesel jeans in his face. Anyway, good and brutal back work. I enjoyed how Drek, even though he obviously won the match, needed the satisfaction and validation of hearing AJ say I quit. He’s so insecure! I forgot what I was going to say here. It may have been about the 24/7 match. The finish (or non finish) was neat. I’d be interested in seeing how the belt will be defended from now on. Tony149 0 Report post Posted February 1, 2005 Tony why did you want The Saints to be aligned with Cornette? Now that I think about it, I botched the storyline. It was supposed to be done another way but I forgot about it and had them join J.C.E. instead so they could feud with the NNMX. BTW, Papacita has been added to the writing credits. NYU 0 Report post Posted February 2, 2005 (edited) Well, I promised feedback so, for the first time in a while, I'm actually going to deliver! -First off, HUGE props to Papacita for doing the AnglePalooza graphics this month. I've always loved the prematch graphics for the PPVs, and I really feel it adds an important touch to the shows. I've noticed they haven't been so frequent in recent months, so it was a great thing to see them back again. I just hope Papa, or if not him than someone else, continues to do them. -Nice segment with Alfdogg and Caboose to start things off. Of course, I haven't been around long enough to really know the issue here, but the tension made it fun. It definitely had a nostalgic feel to it. And, of course, any segment that mentions my name gets an automatic A+ already. -The preshow stuff with Schiavone and Ventura was great! Another somewhat underappreciated aspect of a PPV that lends it a real sense of importance. I enjoyed the rundown of all the matches, and the tournament announcement with Watts at the end. Like the match graphics, this is another part of the show I do not want to see just disappear The Original Elite vs. Chicks Over Dicks -- Nice touch during the match with the fans screaming comments at the wrestlers. I liked the story told here with Black having to do all the work, while Zack simply screamed stuff at the referee from the ring apron. Chicks Over Dicks looked like real stars here. This match MADE them in a way that no other match had before. They just seemed to have Zack and Black's number at every turn but even when they didn't, they had the strength to kick out of huge nearfalls. The School's Out nearfall being one of them. Very good opener. -Drek Stone's promo was AMAZING STUFF!~! -Good segment between Popick and PRL. It really made me believe POPICK COULD WIN THE LETHAL RUMBLE~!~! Or not. Either way, there was some good interaction between Popick and PRL. I like the partnership the two have formed as of late, and the now-obvious PRL/Panther feud looks like it could be a very good feud heading into AngleMania. But, unfortunately, unlike Alfdogg's segment, this section didn't mention me by name. So it loses a million points. Fine, otherwise. Phenom vs. Devin Geddon -- Fun 24/7 Title match between these two. Definitely some hard hitting action between both superstars, and some nice hardcore spots too. I do have to admit that this match has made Phenom's character a little more difficult to grasp. I've always thought of him as a huge monster-like figure. But suddenly, he's pulling out quick dropkicks and top rope moonsaults. It's important to figure out just what kind of style he has. I'm genuinely interested with the ending here with both men becoming co-champions of the federation. I look forward to seeing where Rando and Phenom go with this next. -Enjoyed the segment between Calvin Szechstein and Mr. Bone. Just an all around well-written piece. Hopefully, I've made the right connection with assuming this is just some Nickelodeon conspiracy. Calvin having to hype Spongebob and Dora the Explorer, while having Mr. Bone as his boss. Hopefully, Bone doesn't mess with Calvin's permanent record or anything......nice stuff, nonetheless, and it's good to see Calvin is starting to get back into the swing of things. The Saints vs. The New New Midnight Express -- Short and sweet match. Good action throughout the whole thing, and I REALLY enjoyed the ending with the original Midnight Express interfering for their proteges. It's also a great angle developer, leaving people questioning whether Cornette had a role in that or not. Good stuff. -Nice interview with Stevens to show, despite the hell's he put Hoff through in recent weeks, he's actually still intimidated by him. Hoff looked like a badass here too by even furthering scaring Stevens. It set the stage nicely for the cage match later on. Leon Rodez vs. Zack Malibu vs. Chris Bryte vs. Panther -- Interesting beginning with Bryte simply shoving Zack aside to get to Rodez. I liked Zack's increasing feeling of worthlessness as the night went on, and that shove only further reinforced that fact. Really good Triple Threat action between the three at first. I've always felt KC and Papa were two of the best people in this federation when it came to writing an enthralling match no matter the circumstances, and this only proved that concept. Panther's entrance during the middle of the match was just handled extremely smoothly. Like I said, excellent stuff here and an impressive title defense for Leon Rodez. Hollywood vs. Candie -- Five Minutes in Heaven? Interesting stipulation and a great way to write a short match without actually making it SEEM short. If that made any sense. I liked all the nearfalls in the match since it really gave the contest a sense of urgency, and the finish was an especially hot sequence I liked reading. I wasn't really surprised it went to a five-minute draw, but I was surprised to see Candie come so close to winning it. I suppose a rematch is in the works now, which is just fine with me. Hoff vs. Chris Stevens -- OFF DA CHAIN! Loved the appearance from Tazz at the beginning. What can I say? In my opinion, excluding the Lethal Rumble match, this was the Match of the Night. Oh, and my match of course. But that goes without saying. Great silver fireworks for Hoff's entrance too! Really thrilling, fast-paced match. There was so much anger between Hoff and Stevens here, and it perfectly captured the hostility the two have shown towards each other throughout their entire feud. The Future Shock off the cage wall at the end was unbelievable too. This was a breeze to read through, and it was just FUN the entire way. -AngleMania IV at Trump Plaza?! OMG WHAT A SHOCK! Drek Stone vs. AJ Flaire -- MATCH OF THE YEAR~! Er....MATCH OF THE MONTH~! BEST MATCH EVER~! Feel free to add any more hyperbole here. The Lethal Rumble -- Ah, here we go. First off, Hoff and Adam did an EXCELLENT, EXCELLENT job with this. Having never written a Royal Rumble match before, I'm sure it's a difficult thing to write while keeping it interesting the entire way. Well, both of you managed to do it here, so major props for that. I really enjoyed the buildup at the beginning with certain people giving their interviews. It had an Old School vibe, and it added some hype to the rumble that we should have seen more of in the past few months. Some personal highlights for me: -The Mad Cappa mentioning he wants to win the Rumble since he's beaten Drek Stone more than any other guy in the federation. Bastard.... -ALFDOGG~!~! -The Mad Cappa and Tha Puerto Rican having their personal showdown -The return of J. Arthur Edwards. Genuine shock there. Wonder if it means LPYC is back now.... -Showdown between hated rivals Axel and Brock Ausstin -Zack being a complete bastard and eliminating Dan Black -Axel accidentally knocking Crystal off the apron -The Final-2 fight between Zack and Axel -Axel's performance overall. He just looked like a real contender here. The Rumble was DEFINITELY memorable, and Adam and Hoff really should be proud of what they pulled out here. Loved all of it. Well, there we go. To fulfill my feedback whoring for this post, any more feedback on Drek Stone vs. AJ Flaire would be HUGELY appreciated. It's really good, honest. I spent my entire Sunday writing that thing up before the deadline, so it HAS to be good. And that's it. Excellent show everyone and an awesome way to kick off 2005. P.S. - HOFF NEEDS TO LEAVE BEFF BAK! Edited February 2, 2005 by NY Untouchable

The Amazing Rando 0 Report post Posted February 2, 2005 Phenom vs. Devin Geddon -- Fun 24/7 Title match between these two. Definitely some hard hitting action between both superstars, and some nice hardcore spots too. I do have to admit that this match has made Phenom's character a little more difficult to grasp. He might be a "monster", but when he's built smaller than HBK, it's hard for me to write him that way, especially against a guy 100+ lbs heavier and nearly a foot taller. Tony149 0 Report post Posted February 4, 2005 Better late than never... T.O.E.-C.O.D.: Great way to kick off the show. Patty and Zack did a helluva job writing it. I was disappointed to see the belts leave the waists of T.O.E., but C.O.D. have shown they can hold their load in and out of the ring. I liked how Zack let Dan wrestle a bulk of the match in order to keep himself fresh for his other bouts. J.R. licking the beer off his nipples was funny as well. 24/7: I liked the double pin idea, it's been awhile since the 24/7 title has had some sort of twist, so to speak. The Saints-NNMX was better than I expected. I was dividing my time between that and COD-BT for HD, and that took more of my attention as TS-NNMX was almost completed and I wasn't too thrilled with the original version of COD-BT. Hoff-Stevens: Reading matches written by Hoff, Papacita, NY and Zack is kinda like a guy taking a piss in a public rest room who can't help but to look at what he's stacked up against by looking over the guy next to him and noticing the guy has a bigger penis than him. Yeah, it's like that. Loved the Tazz cameo. If only he had of managed to get off a "rocket buster" remark. I like how Caboose, the former two-time OAOAST Champion, was used to point out the keys to victory for each side. NY has talked about how the little things, such as that and the ref checking for for -- er, international objects (damn you Turner S&P!), can go a long way in putting whatever over. I mean, we probably do more little things for our shows than WWE does with theirs. I was really never a huge fan of the WWF-style steel bar cage, even though it sure as hell looks like being rammed into that bad boy would hurt, but considering some of the moves excuted using the cage (the Jumbo and Future Shock bumps were great), it made sense. It was interesting seeing Flair, Vader and Sting grouped into those who have competed in the bar cage, I assume that comes from the Thunderdome cage the NWA/WCW broke out between 1989-1994. Onto the match. Like NY said, it was a breeze to read through, and fun. Stevens working over the knee brings me back to the days one of my favorite wrestlers, "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson, would take a single part of the body and work it over. Whether it was intentional or not, I got a kick out of the ref calling for a break in a match that is no DQ. It may have been a no DQ or cage match, I can't remember, that saw the ref keep asking for breaks and making 5 counts to the point where the announcers had to say he was doing it out of instinct. I'm pretty sure J.R. was doing the play-by-play, but I can't remember if it was a WCW or WWF match. Candie-Holly: To be honest, I thought the return of the Women's title would bomb, but Patty has done a helluva job making that division, as small as it may be, interesting. Then again, P.O.G. gave new life to The Saints, Fanboiz, so it shouldn't be a surprise. World title: Awesome match. The Drek Stone character is great. I liked how A.J. managed to hang in until the very end, putting him over while showing how far the champion, or any champion in general, will go to ensure the title stays around their waist. Very clever use of the mini-mics so the action wouldn't have to de disrupted by a guy having to grab a microphone. The Rumble was great. From appearances by Alfdogg, J. Arthur and PR, T.O.E. working to eliminate GPX and being apart of the last 5 left in the rumble, my character lasting until the final 4 (which I'd like to think is my reward for not winning many singles matches during my runs in 2002 and 2003), it was action packed. Axel kicking ass when he first arrived, and Zack throwing out Dan was great (it truly is every man for himself). One thing that caught me by surprise was GPX using a double-team maneuver called Designated Driver. All these months having written for their characters, and I knew knew that had such a move. Maybe it was made up for this event, I don't know. All the backstage segments were very well done as well. I would give further details, but having written 3 matches for HD in a short amount of time, I'm exhausted.

Hoff 0 Report post Posted February 4, 2005 Okay, so I got talking so SOMEONE *coughNYUcough* online and now I'm way tired. But here's like a thrid of the feedback. CoD/TOE: Acronym'd~! Very hot, fast opener, that popped the crowd. CoD seem to really be getting over. I liked it, for a guy who claims not to be the biggest fan, Patty is really good at writing exciting matches. I know that he and Zack collaborated, and it flowed well. Very cool. Drek's promo was fun. He crossed that line again from cocky to EVIL, I enjoy that thoroughly. Whenever I picture a PR promo, I picture him all crazy and bug-eyed. Not Evad Sullivan crazy, but intesne. He's a fun read. The 24/7 title match was a change of pace for Phenom, but not a bad one. Good match with Phenom fighting off the hellacious onslaught. I thought it did a lot for Geddon, actually. Very neat twist at the end. Calvin's promo literally has me excited. I am not lying. I loved it. When I started, Cal was the champion and even though I knew his character a bit, I viewed him as the end-all, be-all guy. I'm stoked. ...more later, promise. Hoff 0 Report post Posted February 8, 2005 NNMX vs. The Saints: great match. Fast action, and a cool finish. I marked out for Beautiful Bobby and Sweet Stan, gotta say. X-Title 4-Way: I LOVED Bryte just ignoring Malibu at the beginning. Just great. Leon just chilling was good, too. Very fast paced match with some cool spots, some cool countermoves and sequences. Panther's situation was well-played. This was the pleasant surprise of the evening for me, not because of the writers, but because generally I think four-ways can get kind of messy and muddled and this didn't and it was a thoroughly enjoyable read. Good to see Rodez on top, he needed the win. FUCK~. Nice women's title match, and the shortness of time was played up very well. The match felt hectic. Good finish as well, if predictable. OFF DA CHAIN~! Trivia time: Tazz is actually my favorite announcer right now. I find his boisterous smart aleckery funny, and he puts the workers over. Thw World Title match. I can't heap enough priase onto our champion. I don;t think anyone conveys emotion and anguish better than Mr. NYU. I felt the pain in this match, and the anger. There were some cool spots, to be sure, but what stood out was just that, the emotion and the passion involved. I definitely think it's Drek's best defense of the OAOAST Title, and solidified him as champion -- not that he wasn;t deserving before, as he was, but this was like THE "money match" that made him look like a star -- and a truly dangerous human being. I loved it. Match of the ngiht in a walk, no disrespect to anyone else, and MOTY thus far. Admittedly, it is January. Well....February, now. Okay, so I'm late. Sue me. My part of the Rumble wae easy; Adam had the hard part, the finish. He handled it really well, writing each spot in great detail, coveying the emotion well, and the whole event built to a climax. A LOT went down, especially with the Puerto Rican and Panther, T.O.E., and Axel and Crystal. It was a breeze to read, and I loved the finish as well. Good stuff, man. So there you go. NYU and Frig, stop hounding me.
