Scroby 0 Report post Posted February 3, 2005 I don't want to condone this but since your doing it to Wal-Mart....go nuts! Umm a few titles I can think of that just recently went down are...Blood Will tell for the PS2, Gamecrazy's are selling it for 20 brand new. Blinx 2 for the Xbox, also dropped for 20 and its only been out for a month, Mortal Kombat Deception dropped down to 39.99 but that may not be what your looking for excatly for dropped prices. But you may not just want to do it with just video games, I'm sure they'd catch on after awhile, you may also want to try cd's.
Ripper 0 Report post Posted February 3, 2005 You want a PS2 from walmart, (149) I am guessing or at best some game store and get a refurb for what, 120? if you are selling games that you bought at 20 a pop back to walmart and getting 40-50 in return, you would be making a 20-30 dollar profit. Which means you would have to buy 4-6 games at 20 a pop costing you 80 - 120 bucks to pull off your plan. Refurb PS2 = $120 Cost to fund genius plan = $120 ... Matt Young 0 Report post Posted February 3, 2005 (edited) No. Buying 3 $20 games that I can exchange for $50 each means I spend $60. Your low end estimate of $80 is the most I'd be spending, and that's a little over half of what I'd be paying in cash if I just bought the system. Besides, I've already found several games that I can get for $20 and exchange for $50, albeit at K-Mart rather than Wal-Mart. But their return policy is just as lenient. I should have a good chance at accomplishing this. I never said it was a genius plan or even a good idea, but it works 9 times out of 10 from what I've heard. I've only done it a few times, but my success rate has been 100%. EDIT: I would never buy a used or refurbished system from a game store after all the shit I've been through with used Xbox systems. As for the PS2, I want the newer slim model, so I'll be getting a new one regardless. If they do sell refurbished versions of that system which has only been out since November, that's pretty scary. Most refurbs can have a warrantly tacked on pretty cheap. And you're not any more likely to have a refurbed PS2 conk out on you than a new slim-model one. The refurbs have been fixed up good as new if there were any problems with them, and in either case, Sony are a bunch of cheap-asses when it comes to manufacturing consoles. Why should they make quality hardware when people will just buy another when their old one craps out?
The Metal Maniac 0 Report post Posted February 3, 2005 As far as I know, Wal-Mart doesn't drug test. And is Mega Man X3 really rare/expensive? I have that floating around...I think I got it for 10 bucks.

Guest pinnacleofallthingsmanly Report post Posted February 3, 2005 I don't see how it affects you as a person. How the hell do you know where I got the games from? What if I really did get them as gifts and didn't have a receipt? I do have retail experience, by the way, so there goes that logic. If you would want to "beat my ass" over something like that, you really have some issues, pinnacleofallthingsangry. P.S. You apparently aren't anywhere near the pinnacle when it comes to spelling, seeing as how your sig has two errors in easy to spell words. I wood wunt to beet you're ass becus your triying to get over at my stoar. Insted of takeing you're lazy ass and getting yourslef a job (liek I would half to do), you wood rather skeme. If you have retale experince, use it and get your lazy ass a job and stop felling sorry for yourself. If you have tiem to bee on here asking us how your lazy ass can beat the system and play vidoe games for less munnie, you have time to take your lazy ass to the mall and find a job. If you came into my store with that bullshit, I would give your lazy ass an application instead of a PS2. You're not a customer there and you're not spending money there. You're just a lazy ass there trying to rip them off. I would be pist that I haf to take the time to due the dam tramsaction that's loseing us doe wile there are onest people wif job's wayting to gib us up some munnie. And than you for pointing out the errors in my sig that I can't see.

AndrewTS 0 Report post Posted February 3, 2005 Hey, it's a fun game; but if people are dumb enough to pay 50 dollars for it, I'm in. I scored a boxed/complete one for forty, and sold it for 90 bucks before. I also second that Matt's a deadbeat lazy phuck. No offense intended, of course. {''({o..o})''} 0 Report post Posted February 3, 2005 My best purchase was Dragon Ball GT, which I got from Media Play for $10, forgot about for over a year, then sold for $110.
Rendclaw 0 Report post Posted February 3, 2005 If you're jonesing that hard for a PS2, work for it instead of trying to screw over a retail chain. Even though its Wally-World and they deserve every bad break they get (which in reality are all too few), you would use less energy flipping burgers for two months to pay for a PS2. And as for hyper-inflated prices for older games, people wonder why there is emulation.
Matt Young 0 Report post Posted February 4, 2005 You could always try selling drugs. A DEA officer lives across the street. Too risky. I also second that Matt's a deadbeat lazy phuck. No offense intended, of course. This is mostly because I can't find a job, but yes, that's partially accurate.

Matt Young 0 Report post Posted February 4, 2005 Ha. It sucks... I don't smoke weed too often, but I had been enjoying a hookup I found for $20 halfs. Then that guy moved away and the DEA officer moved in (not the same house) within a week. The officer did come over here once, though, and he seemed like some sort of stoner/tripper hybrid. He greeted me with, "Yo bro, what's happenin'?" So maybe he does dip into the stash.
