Giuseppe Zangara Posted February 2, 2005 Author Report Posted February 2, 2005 Banky's online but he won't be able to join me in this thread because teke is the worst moderator ever. Hm.
Guest cosbywasmurdered Posted February 2, 2005 Report Posted February 2, 2005 As far as I know you can't post in that folder. But Banky is of course not impressed. He and VX shouldn't have had that done to them.
treble Posted February 2, 2005 Report Posted February 2, 2005 People need to watch the Happy Days reunion show on Thursday night.
Guest cosbywasmurdered Posted February 2, 2005 Report Posted February 2, 2005 What network is doing that?
Giuseppe Zangara Posted February 2, 2005 Author Report Posted February 2, 2005 Henry Winkler is so paunchy and old now.
Your Paragon of Virtue Posted February 2, 2005 Report Posted February 2, 2005 That show was on TV for ten years, were they really in High school that whole time?
Giuseppe Zangara Posted February 2, 2005 Author Report Posted February 2, 2005 Fonzie adopted an Albanian boy in the last episode, I think. In one of my old "Ask Incandenza" threads, someone asked me what happened in the last episode, so I had to look it up. The More You Know
treble Posted February 2, 2005 Report Posted February 2, 2005 They weren't in high school the whole time. They went to college before Richie and Ralph joined the army and Potsie no longer had a purpose.
Giuseppe Zangara Posted February 2, 2005 Author Report Posted February 2, 2005 Richie Cunningham went to college, didn't he? He wasn't in the last season at all, save for the final episode. EDIT: treble with the save
Giuseppe Zangara Posted February 2, 2005 Author Report Posted February 2, 2005 How great is Ron Howard on Arrested Development, huh? Better than anything else he's done, EDtv not included.
Guest Caravaggio Posted February 2, 2005 Report Posted February 2, 2005 Banky's online but he won't be able to join me in this thread because teke is the worst moderator ever. Hm. I'm here, FOR NOW!
Giuseppe Zangara Posted February 2, 2005 Author Report Posted February 2, 2005 Oh, I joined Netflix today. Here's what's in my queue: Cannibal Holocaust Don't Look Back (Bob Dylan documentary from 1967) Breathless (original version, directed by Jean Luc Godard) and then Coming Apart Faces Schizopolis
Nighthawk Posted February 2, 2005 Report Posted February 2, 2005 One time I got in a fight with my mom and this happened: me: "You're a bad mother." her: "Shut your mouth!"
Special K Posted February 2, 2005 Report Posted February 2, 2005 Superfly soundtrack is where it's at.
Giuseppe Zangara Posted February 2, 2005 Author Report Posted February 2, 2005 I'm listening to the Shaft soundtrack again. It'll go well with the online driving course I am about to take. Fucking $200 speeding ticket.
Modern Man's Hustle Posted February 3, 2005 Report Posted February 3, 2005 Don't Look Back (Bob Dylan documentary from 1967) Great documentary. Shoot me a PM when you've finished watching it and let me know what you thought of it.
godthedog Posted February 3, 2005 Report Posted February 3, 2005 Don't Look Back (Bob Dylan documentary from 1967) this is pretty good. pennebaker spoke here on campus a couple weeks ago for a documentary class i almost took. Breathless (original version, directed by Jean Luc Godard) i adore this movie (especially the first 45 minutes or so), but if you thought the wandering shot in 'taxi driver' was annoyingly self-referential, you will probably loathe it. being metafilmic and self-referential is godard's whole schtick. Faces if you can get all the way through this, i will give you several dollars. i've tried four times and still can't get past the second scene.
Modern Man's Hustle Posted February 3, 2005 Report Posted February 3, 2005 Godard? Self-referential? No...
godthedog Posted February 3, 2005 Report Posted February 3, 2005 it's there, you just have to look REALLY hard. and orson welles's name is misspelled in your sig.
Modern Man's Hustle Posted February 3, 2005 Report Posted February 3, 2005 Color me embarassed. Fixed.
godthedog Posted February 3, 2005 Report Posted February 3, 2005 you should be embarrassed. not seeing the self-referentiality in godard...shame on you. SHAME.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted February 3, 2005 Report Posted February 3, 2005 When did you get a car, incandenza?
Ripper Posted February 3, 2005 Report Posted February 3, 2005 Which Shaft soundtrack. Like the one with R. Kelly or the good one?

Well, I've seen and enjoyed Contempt, so I'm not completely unfamiliar with Godard. As for self-referentiality, I can dig it (David Foster Wallace uses it frequently), but it just didn't belong in Taxi Driver. That one scene wrecks the flow of the movie.
Giuseppe Zangara Posted February 3, 2005 Author Report Posted February 3, 2005 When did you get a car, incandenza? It wasn't mine.
Giuseppe Zangara Posted February 3, 2005 Author Report Posted February 3, 2005 Which Shaft soundtrack. Like the one with R. Kelly or the good one? 1971
