Even the way that I heard the story originally where Culpepper is made to look like a vilian I really didnt see a problem with what he did. He let the kid feel good about himself wearing the chains in front of all the people and then Daunte offered to send him some free stuff, which I haven't heard reports of any other players there doing. I'm sure Culpepper doesn't really care about the value of the chains so much as the personal meaning in them. The press wants everyone to look bad though so I'm not surprised.

I'm not surprised. Reporters are douchebags for the most part.

The AP report was more entertaining though. I was laughing my ass of when I read the part about when his family started crying and talking about buying a safe for the jewelry.

And here is the real sad part, there are places who will only know the AP story, and not even know the Star-Trib's story

Put it another way, the way the Star-Trib has it, its like loaning a World Series Championship ring, or Super Bowl Championship ring to someone so that person can feel for just a moment what "it feels like"

Anyway here in NY two radio hosts, Wally Mathews and Tom Keegan, just read the AP report and thought Dante was being a complete Indian Giving jerk and wondering how a Moss signed jersey would be worth the same as a 75 thousand dollar piece of jewerly, not too mention what took so long for Dante to realize "Hey wait a minute!"

So that means, as far as anyone listening to that segement here in New York, Dante Culpepper is a Class A Asshole and a prime example of "Whats wrong with today's modern athletes"
