ROH DVD's

Recommended Posts

OK, I'm really wanting to get some more ROH in my collection. I've got one of their DVD's (The Era of Honor Begins), and I'm looking to purchase more. I'm sure there are some ROH fans in here that can give me some good advice.

Let's say I can only buy 3 DVD's right now - which three shows are vital to add to my collection? Give me some feedback and help me decide which ROH shows deserve to be added to my wrestling DVD and video collection.

Everyone will give you a different opinion...but at this point I'd go with three of the newer shows, and that way you can start following the current stuff better. So I'd suggest Joe vs. Punk 2, All Star Extravaganza 2, and Final Battle 2004.

Of course Joe vs. Punk 2 is a lot better if you've seen their first match at World Title Classic. So another route you could go would be Generation Next, World Title Classic, and Survival of the Fittest. Those are three shows in a row that were great, so I know you'd enjoy them.

I'm just a guy who likes to watch the shows in order instead of picking out random DVDs here and there. So decide what you're interested in seeing, and go for it.

I've heard people rave about how good World Title Classic is . . . I've almost convinced myself to pick that one up. I'm not so much into watching stuff in order, as I am by getting the best quality matches/promos/etc. I can kinda get a "refresher" on the storylines by visiting a lot of the websites that follow ROH.

Thanks a ton for the advice!

Anyone else?

I'm a "watch 'em in order" kind of guy. I got all the 2002 shows a while back through a dealer, liked the so much decided to start buying from the website, and by taking advatage of their nonstop recent holiday sales, have bought and watched all the 2003 shows (well, I still have to watch Final Battle 2003, but I have it), so I'm working my way there. My 3 favorites so far have been Death Before Dishonor, Bitter Friends Stiffer Enemies and Main Event Spectacles. I'd reccomend those 3 if you're just looking for quality but honestly I've enjoyed every show and of course haven't gotten into 2004 yet which is when they really hit their peak apparently.

I'm not the hugest ROH follower.. I love their stuff.. but I've never been able to order their DVDs until now (dad was scared about a credit card, but my own is on the way so I plan to start)...

Anyway whatever show, had Paul London vs AJ Styles... that's one of my favoruite matches ever... and EVER means throughout all of pro wrestling.

If I were you, I'd watch'em in order. That way, you know what the hell is going on with each show. Like others have said, every ROH show has at least one good, no, great match on it. You can't go wrong with any show.

Good Luck.

You could always do what I plan on doing, and that is wait and get all three shows that are part of the upcoming Third Anniversary Celebration. Just looking at the matches announced for each show makes them must-buys. I've heard people say that Survival of the Fittest is one of the better top-to-bottom shows RoH has put out recently.
