The Czech Republic 0 Report post Posted February 11, 2005 Well, that's when people actually wanted to LOOK AT the Bruins. Hey now, Razor has some upside. Bruins aren't bad, it's just that they were Montreal's bitch in the playoffs again.

Damaramu 0 Report post Posted February 11, 2005 Just to draw the ire of Boston fans name it something like: "I have more rings than Bill Russell" arena or "Bill Russell is overrated" arena. "Larry Bird is white and has no game" arena. *I don't actually believe those things by the way*
2GOLD 0 Report post Posted February 11, 2005 I do. Larry Bird is white and has no game. I mean, what is he like 38 with bad knees now? What kind of game can he have?

JJMc 0 Report post Posted February 11, 2005 In all seriousness, I don't think there's a worse way to insult the intelligence of fans than to re-name an arena/stadium years after it already is identified by that name. The worst one has to be Comiskey Park. US Cellular Field? Are you fucking kidding me? Though, I have heard rumors of them just naming it the Boston Garden. The worst one has to be Comiskey Park. US Cellular Field? Are you fucking kidding me? Don't worry, nobody here actually calls it that. But yeah, naming rights can go to hell nine times out of ten. I maintain that the Phillies should drop the "Bank" from their name and play in Citizens' Park, because the people of the city paid for half the place. Ced 0 Report post Posted February 12, 2005 Naming rights on 2/16 is at a whopping $33,400 last time I checked, and that's more money than the other 12 auctions combined. Reason: it's the Celtics-Grizzlies game on 2/16. Disney on Ice runs from 2/18 to 2/27 while the 2/17 and 2/28 bidders get the shaft as far as events are concerned. Steve J. Rogers 0 Report post Posted February 13, 2005 I'd name it: Yankee Stadium Or Madison Square Garden... I'd call it the FUCK SHIT FUCK GODDAMNIT Center Ironically THAT was the original "name" for the original place. The Boston arena and the old New York one (in the mid 40's and 8th Ave I believe) were created by Tex Richard and both were going to be called "Madison Square Garden" Steve
Boon 0 Report post Posted February 13, 2005 How about the "Remeber When We Won" Center. Or "This Isn't Fenway or Foxboro, Nobody Cares" Arena. Seriously tho, Celts just got about .500, they're going all the way.

Your Paragon of Virtue 0 Report post Posted February 25, 2005 Lawyer tries to name Boston Arena for Jeter. I expected the bid to be higher than $2300, but this probably won't be allowed anyway. Would be nice though.
