Guest Deadbolt Report post Posted March 10, 2005 With ECW PPV coming up, I was wondering to myself, would it be an idea to have a WCW PPV? Hell, they already have the Great American Bash trademarked. They cashed in on the ECW nostalgia, why not do the same with WCW? Bischoff is already under contract, Flair, Booker, etc. I doubt Goldberg would take much convincing if you wave a few dollars under his nose. The only person who'd really need negotiating is Sting. 1234-5678 0 Report post Posted March 10, 2005 People want to see ECW, as evidenced by the heartbreak when it closed, and the high DVD sales. People do not want to see WCW as evidenced by the apathy when it closed, and the basement buy rates. Don't get me wrong, I loved Nitro. But a WCW PPV has no appeal whatsoever. Zack Malibu 0 Report post Posted March 10, 2005 Why go after TNA workers? Ring of Honor has a great pool of workers they could use for this show and wouldn't be giving TNA a rub under the premise of this "ECW was the home of young superstars looking to make their break in america, and tonight in that spirit, some of today's youngest and future stars will perform here at ECW One Night Stand." Get Samoa Joe, CM Punk, Dragon, Maff and Whitmer, Homicide, Aries, Evans and a couple others. Im not saying make it a ROH PPV. However, if you use 2-6 of them, it would greatly help WWE make up for not getting those TNA guys and even for the lost of sandman, sabu and douglas. A)They're banking on nostalgia to sell this show. B)WWE 9/10 times could give a shit about actual talent. If they did, half the roster would still be in OVW attempting to learn. So far the only interesting thing about this PPV is waiting to see how much the unsigned guys (Mamaluke, Smothers, etc.) bust their ass in hopes of finally getting some notice and a possible contract. Filtering these guys into the developmentals so that the new guys have some experience to work with, or using them on Velocity/Heat (unless they strike gold with someone) would be beneficial to the company. Guest MikeSC Report post Posted March 18, 2005 BWA HA HA HA! Well, considering that there is not one person on the list of "talent" I'd want to see, I have found something to not spend $150 on. -=Mike
Guest Shadow Report post Posted March 18, 2005 It's clear that WWE would provide a better show with their talent then the ones Douglas has signed. He has big names in Raven, Sandman and Sabu but Raven's been a sack of crap for awhile now, Sandman always was a sack of crap and Sabu's fucked up beyong belief. honestly, the best match would be Tracy Smothers Vs Terry Funk. While "One night stand" will have these to choose from Mysterio Benoit Guerrero Dudleyz Dreamer Storm Tazz Psicosis Foley Snow and the others they got to sign. Hardcore Homecoming like we were expecting is clearly looking like a joke.
