If we're having problems getting them together for a full thing, what are the odds we'll get them for a like 3-4 rounds? Probably not that great.

Hence if we go the NBA route, it'd be all or none.

I'm cool with the NBA Style though I propose a quick time table, say 6-8 hours(can PM Flik with 3-4 picks in advance if you're worried) so that way the draft moves quickly and there isn't much delay between picks.

I am fine with either Fri or Sat night. Could we bump it up to like 7pm Eastern Time if 9 is too late? I'd rather get the draft over with in one shot instead of letting it drag, but that's just me I guess. I'll be fine with whatever everyone likes the best. Oh, and I agree, more bench spots PLZ~!

Alright, we're gonna be doing this NBA draft style. However, it won't start going until Saturday, Sunday or Monday, depending on if I can get everything set up (not to mention I'm also working on a project).

Also there will be slight changes to the draft order because there is now 5 new teams. For those 5 who joined the league, you will have 4 picks before the actual draft (in a specifically random order for each "round"). After that, the draft will resume as per norm mode. Meaning Sux, you are still gonna be in last every round.

Keepers will be increased to 5, but you must take 1 batter and 1 pitcher. You can't just fill it with 5 pitchers. The other rule for keepers, is you don't get a choice on keeping, you must keep.

Also during the following season (not this season), I would like to impliment a waiver draft in which one of your 5 keepers will be randomly selected by the Magic Sorting Cap and placed into said draft. The placement for the waiver draft is also absolutely random as well. There's probably gonna be somethigns that will be needed to discuss, but its something I'm thinking about.

Bench size will return to 4 because people want it back that way. Weekly rosters will remain until it can be further discussed.

Also, I know there's a stat called H/AB, I can't get rid of the bloody hadian thing, so please don't ask for me to take it out.

I'm not big on the waiver draft idea because it nullifies the reason for that 5th keeper. Why keep 5 good players if you'll potentially lose one or get a lesser player back(one that you don't value as much)? Kinda defeats the idea of building your team behind 5 good players IMO.

Why not just have us choose 6 players, keep 5 and designate the 6th to the waiver draft ourselves? This way, we can hope to nab that 6th player but won't be heartbroken if we don't get him. I just don't want to lose say my top hitter just because of some random selection and then not get him back and have to select a guy I'd normally take say 4-5 rounds later.

Do we really need even more keepers? If there's 13 teams each keeping their top five players, then theoretically, the new teams won't get a shot at any of the top 65 players.

I know there will be guys slipping through the cracks here and there, and a couple teams are probably stacked with six stars, but I think that four keepers is plenty. Maybe, you could have the teams designate a fifth option to keep that's still eligible for the supplemental draft, and then if the nobody picks him up, he reverts to the previous team.

cause everybody would pick a scrub for the 6th guy. Or I would at least.

The way I see it the expansion teams get a special draft before the regular draft so that makes it "fair". Besides there are always a certain number of teams that never return so there will always be a certain percentage of stars available for the magic expansion draft.

I say the more keepers the better.

Yeah I hate the keepers waiver draft idea, it nullifies the point somewhat. We don't need 5, we already have 4. The fair thing to do, is give a list of of everyone's keepers that have already been chosen, and allow the new teams to go in order in their own "pre-draft" to choose 4 players from the remaining pot before everyone else. There's stil l plenty of top players avaliable, and this gives them a chance to nab some too. Then once everyone has their 4, we fill out the remaining rosters with everyone in a normal draft. I really reccomend doing it that way.

Kudos on increasing the bench, and I'm torn on the weekly roster thing.

For those 5 who joined the league, you will have 4 picks before the actual draft (in a specifically random order for each "round").

So, will it be like this...

Round 1.

1. Team #1

2. Team #2

3. Team #3

4. Team #4

5. Team #5

Round 2.

1. Team #5

2. Team #4

3. Team #3

4. Team #2

5. Team #1

...or will it be a random order for each specific round, as it looks like you stated?

The Five New Teams get their 4 picks first so:

New 1

New 2

New 3

New 4

New 5

New 1

New 2

... etc. until all picks have been made. The five teams will be randomly selected and placed into those five team thingies (yes, thingies, since I can't describe it right now).

Actual draft works like this:

Round 1

Team 1

Team 2

...

Team 16

Round 2

Team 1

Team 2

...

Team 16

etc.

What time does the draft start?

Draft will begin probably 9pm EST. Assuming I get all the info set up, no later than 11pm EST. As with the NBA Draft, list of MLB players taken and team on which said player is on will be first post.

So, again, can someone clarify how this works? Is it just when it's the next person's turn, they post their pick, and then the next person can post their pick, etc.? Will there be any sort of a time limit or something?

Like the NBA draft, there will be a 12 hour limit on posting picks. If you do not make your pick within 12 hours, you will lose your pick and it'll end of being slapped till your next turn. So then you'll have to make 2 picks.

Screw up twice and all picks you have then end up at the end of the draft rounds. So don't screw up twice. I mean, after all its a 12 hour limit. That's sufficient time to make your pick. BTW, screw up twice means second time and the end of the draft rounds rule is invoked.

The only way the draft will be held up is if someone will not be able to attend a couple of rounds.

All picks will be submitted into this thread.

The New Guys 4 Keeper Selection:

13 - New Team 3

14 - Rebels of Oakland

15 - New Team 2

16 - The Worst Team

17 - New Team 1

18 - Chicago White Sux

The five new teams will be pulled out of my Magic Sorting Hat and placed into respective spots of pulling outage.

Why not have a set order for the new keeper draft? Something like I proposed earlier...

Round 1.

1. Team #1

2. Team #2

3. Team #3

4. Team #4

5. Team #5

Round 2.

1. Team #5

2. Team #4

3. Team #3

4. Team #2

5. Team #1

...allowing Team #1 to have the first pick for all four rounds handicaps the rest of the new teams.

EDIT: Watch when I'm named Team #1, and thus rescind my suggestion. ;)
