Phillies outfielder Marlon Byrd dislocated his right ring finger in the first inning of Sunday's spring game against the Indians. He was taken back to the team's complex in Clearwater, Florida for X-rays, the Associated Press reported.

Once Byrd undergoing testing, the Phillies will know the extent of the injury and provide a timetable. Byrd was having a wonderful spring and pushing starting centerfielder Kenny Lofton for playing time. This injury could turn a potential platoon situation into full playing time for Lofton. We'll update Byrd's status when more is known.

I wasn't even thinking of taking this guy but he's apparantly locked up a bullpen spot and Billy Beane just compared him to Dennis Eckersley. Probably bullshit but what the hell, it is a keeper league.

^_^ Why HQ. You should know that Yahoo would totally have all available players up, even if they might not be officially on the roster.

...well, by golly gee, he's not there. Now that's a [sarcasm]total surprise[/sarcasm] in that he's not listed.

 

 

...I was planning on doing some updating after this post, but sadly my sinus infection is hitting me pretty hard, so I'm goign to go now use up like 30 boxes of kleenex as I'm sneezing and oozing pretty bad right now.

 

No, you didn't need to know that tidbit, but I just thought I should share information on why I'm not doing what I should be doing. ^_^

Okay, here's the situation. Currently, Flik will be inputting the rosters through Round 14 as the draft has been taking way too long lately and I've been making autopicks which really shouldn't be happening. The rosters will be cut down to 2 bench spots so Flik can fill out the rosters, then the other 2 bench spots will be re-added. Upon being re-added, the team owners (you all) can use the waiver wire to add the final two players that you want.

Rosters have been finalized, and are now officially up. Players are on waviers for 3 days, so don't think that you can just pick up anyone you want.

 

If you want to find your team, please look on the 23rd of this month, as that's where you'll see them.

I fucking hate Yahoo.

 

It kicked Sabathia and Radke off of Bored's team. Fucking site. Anyways, Bored, I've rescheduled them to be moving back to your team, so please wait till tomorrow.

 

And if anyone fucks with Bored's team, and I swear to god, I'll lock your team down and bench every fucking player, you got that!?

 

I did not need this crap first thing.

Oh and some news on the fantasy sports front:

White Sox pitcher Mark Buehrle felt a pop in his left foot Sunday while shagging fly balls, according to the team's official website. The pop reportedly was a hairline fracture to the fourth metatarsal, which could sideline him for four to six weeks. A bone scan was being taken to access the damage done to Buehrle's left foot. We'll keep you updated on his condition.

Buehrle glided to a 3-0 record this spring with a 2.41 ERA, striking out 12 and only walking two. He was set for another solid season before this mishap. Last year, he won 16 games with a 3.89 ERA. If something was going to happen, we would have assumed it was arm related. Buehrle has averaged 238 innings over the past three years. Until a report says any differently, we suggest you assume he'll miss six weeks.

 

 

Seems everyone and their mother is having injuries lately.

Uh... Waiver priority is set up how it would be if you had the first pick in the draft.

 

1st pick gives you 18th priority for waivers.

 

Doesn't it? HQ, we need you to resolve this situation. ^_^

We're keeping the waiver priorities the way they are now.

 

A) We had a straight draft thus one could argue that 1 - 10 had an advantage over 11 - 18 for 14 rounds already.

 

B) I'm the 18th waiver wire priority, if you're that worried about your player being taken then I suggest you get 2-3 backup options in mind. There's more than enough talent at positions so that you won't die if you miss out on the first player you wanted.

Ok, although I just made mention of this to HQ, I figured I'd make mention of it here.

 

^__^;; Remember how this is a weekly system? Well apparently, if someone lands on waivers, their on waivers for that entire week they've been dropped. So as you can imagine, HQ's quite livid right now about that. As am I cause that continues to fuck up the Rebels of Oakland situation that's ongoing.

 

So please no picking up Sabathia and Radke by anyone or HQ says I keel your team for Week 1.

Some Injury News...

Joe Borowski will miss at least 3-4 weeks with a hairline crack in his right wrist.

 

Endy Chavez is expected to be out until Friday at the earliest because of his sore elbow.

 

Scot Shields could return to the mound by the end of the week.

 

Mariners pitching coach Bryan Price said he wants to see Joel Pineiro (shoulder) pitch four more times before he joins the rotation, putting him on pace to make his season debut on April 15-16.

 

After taking live batting practice for the second straight day, Frank Thomas (ankle surgery) said he'd probably sit out the first month of the season before beginning a rehab assignment at Triple-A Charlotte.
