MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted May 12, 2005 Carl Everett for Chris Young seems like a good deal to me.. I have an awesome pitching staff but my offense is pathetic, just like last year.
Cuban Linx 0 Report post Posted May 12, 2005 My team seems to have slipped into an alternate universe where i actually have good pitching and my offence blows for a change. Traded away Jason Bay, Scott Rolen is breaking down and everyone else isn't doing much, but Burnett, El Duque, Vasquez and Mark Redman all just give up 2 runs in between 6 and 8 innings. Of course the remaining pitcher is Jeff Weaver, who could as easily throw a complete game shutout as get torched for 10 runs in the first inning, but so far i look like a safe bet to win most pitching categories, except saves as Percival is out and the Seattle Mariners suck dick. And thankfully Bengie Molina looks set to return, hopefully solving my blackhole of production at the catcher position. I'll also probably throw out a few trade offers soon, as i'd like to get one more pretty good pitcher to round out my new and improved rotation, maybe a decent outfielder too. Lightning Flik 0 Report post Posted May 12, 2005 So, now 2 guys I've traded for are on the DL, in Scmidt and Matos. Great. I will persever somehow... Well now, that Brayan trade is looking better and better. Carl Everett for Chris Young seems like a good deal to me.. I have an awesome pitching staff but my offense is pathetic, just like last year. I'd like to point out that I gained Carl Everett for trading away Chris Young whom I just had picked up off of FA.

Carl Everett has cooled off considerably over the last couple weeks, where as Chris Yong seems to just be getting hot.
EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted May 12, 2005 Ok, It is Branyan, with an N. The next person to say "Brayan" is getting suspended for a day.

Lightning Flik 0 Report post Posted May 12, 2005 Al, I'm the only one getting it wrong. Therefore, aren't you basically saying "Flik, fuck up again, and you get suspend for a day?" Honestly now. I just think you are getting mad with all the goodness I'm doing on trades.
razazteca 0 Report post Posted May 12, 2005 May 12 White Sox outfielder Carl Everett was a late scratch for Wednesday's game against the Devil Rays because of a cramp in his left leg that turned into soreness in his hamstring, reports MLB.com. He is listed as day-to-day. Views: Jermaine Dye replaced Everett as the team's designated hitter on Wednesday. The Sox start a four-game series with the Orioles on Thursday and we'll update Carl's status for that series as soon as more information is made available. Poor Carl has a bad hammy. Lightning Flik 0 Report post Posted May 12, 2005 Point? So he's day-to-day. I can deal with it.
Brett Favre 0 Report post Posted May 12, 2005 Sean Casey and Hee Seop Choi are available. Looking for a solid starting pitcher.
Lightning Flik 0 Report post Posted May 12, 2005 Two seperate trade offers, however not looking at Choi or Casey since I've got Morneau. But I think you might like what's offered, might not. We'll see.
Lightning Flik 0 Report post Posted May 12, 2005 Ok, I'm going to announce it here: Smell the ratings team is inactive. Hasn't touched his team since sometime in March, and no word from him after e-mailing him about a couple of trade offers. So I'd like our commish to step up and tell us the game plan for what we do with this team. Break it down? Or what?
razazteca 0 Report post Posted May 12, 2005 Just freeze the team until the guy complains about it...
Cuban Linx 0 Report post Posted May 13, 2005 Just my luck, i trade away Adrian Beltre and not a week later Scott Rolen goes on the DL. I started the season with two of the top three ranked third basemen and now i'll be left starting Morgan Ensberg or some shit.
HarleyQuinn 0 Report post Posted May 13, 2005 Freeze/lock the team for the duration of the season. All players on his team will be available in the draft next year and he will be replaced with a new owner.
EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted May 13, 2005 Let him go for now. He's a multi-year Fantasy player with us.
treble 0 Report post Posted May 13, 2005 Yeah, it's possible his computer is just fucked up or something. If he's not back around by the end of the year or so, then do something about it.
iggymcfly 0 Report post Posted May 13, 2005 What good does freezing the team do anyway? If the problem is that he's not responding, why prevent him from responding. I just don't understand what it accomplishes.
razazteca 0 Report post Posted May 13, 2005 What are the other options? Dumping the whole team would just be too evil.
iggymcfly 0 Report post Posted May 13, 2005 Let someone else take over or leave the situation alone. Both seem like more sensible options than freezing the team.
Lightning Flik 0 Report post Posted May 13, 2005 Let him go for now. He's a multi-year Fantasy player with us. Yeah, it's possible his computer is just fucked up or something. If he's not back around by the end of the year or so, then do something about it. Last time he was in the league was March 17th... So um... Inactive much? What good does freezing the team do anyway? If the problem is that he's not responding, why prevent him from responding. I just don't understand what it accomplishes. Do you see anywhere where it said his posting abilities were locked? I don't. He posts about it, it'll most likely be unlocked. What are the other options? Dumping the whole team would just be too evil. Ok... The team is locked down and still competiting, so no, the team isn't being dumped. Let someone else take over or leave the situation alone. Both seem like more sensible options than freezing the team. Someone can't take over his team because they would have no idea how to log into his e-mail account. EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted May 13, 2005 Then it appears we have no real option except to leave the team alone and at worse, let him accumulate losses.
razazteca 0 Report post Posted May 15, 2005 My pitchers are up for trade....and no Smoltz is not available.
iggymcfly 0 Report post Posted May 15, 2005 Then it appears we have no real option except to leave the team alone and at worse, let him accumulate losses. I think the real worry is that he's not accumulating losses. It makes all the people who scan the waiver wire every day feel bad when someone who hasn't touched their team since the draft has a better record than they do. iggymcfly 0 Report post Posted May 15, 2005 BTW, while I'm posting in the fantasy thread, I just want to say that Clemens had another great outing today, and actually got the win, 4-1. I know I don't need to bitch about the Astros run support for Clemens today since he did get the victory, but here's an interesting little nugget for you. Not only does Clemens lead the Astros in ERA and strikeouts, he also leads the team in batting average, as his .357 BA is better than anyone else's with a minimum of 10 ABs.
