Styles 0 Report post Posted February 24, 2005 http://www.vh1.com/artists/az/judas_priest...opThis=playIt() The entire Angel Of Retribution album is up for streaming in perfect quality at that link. Release date is March 1st. I was going to buy it anyway, but this just clinches it. I'm 3 songs in and my only thought is: Jesus Christ is this HEAVY. Really packs a punch, but I expected that as its produced by Roy Z who produced the awesomely heavy Bruce Dickinson albums Accident Of Birth and Chemical Wedding. It's just really excellent so far, tremendous comeback album...
The Metal Maniac 0 Report post Posted February 24, 2005 Thanks for the link man; I've been aching to hear this ever since I heard that Halford joined up again. So far, it sounds exactly as I would expect; which isn't surprising, since I found that Halford's most recent solo albums sounded like Judas Priest did recently anyway. Slayer 0 Report post Posted February 24, 2005 Halford's solo albums > JP's non-Halford albums
The Metal Maniac 0 Report post Posted February 24, 2005 Eh...I think I liked JP's non Halford albums better, but that's probably because, outside of 2 or three songs, nothing that Halford did seemed that memorable to me. Or maybe I just didn't listen to that as much as I did JP. *shrug* But this album is good, so it all balances out.
Dace59 0 Report post Posted February 24, 2005 Been around on IRC for a while and the band has thrown out advanced copies as well. It's good stuff...but I have the wonder what the hell a 13 mintue track about Lochness is for.
Slickster 0 Report post Posted February 24, 2005 Yeah, he was a terrible wrestler anyway; I'm glad WCW cut him.
AndrewTS 0 Report post Posted February 24, 2005 Hell yeah! Thanks for the link--I never would have known about it otherwise (VH1? And Music?).
Corey_Lazarus 0 Report post Posted February 25, 2005 VH1 is still mostly about the music. Mostly about absolutely terrible music, but music nonetheless. I heard "Judas Rising" today on WAAF right after Mistress Carrie's Coffe Break Request. Fucking ruled, and I'm not even a Priest fan.
Red Baron 0 Report post Posted February 25, 2005 Awesome. I heard my local radio station playing a new song off the album for a month now and I like it. Can't wait to hear the new album.
Paul Stanley 0 Report post Posted February 28, 2005 The songs are made for Ripper's voice.
Styles 0 Report post Posted March 1, 2005 The songs are made for Ripper's voice. Now, when Ripper's talent was basically souding just like Rob Halfort to the point of being discovered from a Judas Priest cover band, think about how ridiculous that statement sounds. Not hating on Owens, love him with Iced Earth now, but really, these songs were meant for Halford. And they sound awesome.
