Favorite moment, I watched live. Probably the Ultimate Challenge.

So many to choose from including Benoit winning the World Title and the WM 13 submission match, but Austin winning his first title at WM 14 is my moment. You knew it would happen but it was still a mark-out moment that ushered in a boom period that the business will probably never see again.

Mania X. Hart/Hart, Michaels/Razor, and my favorite wrestler of all time finally beating that fat bastard Yoko in the main event for the WWF title.

Rock/Hogan for me, just because it was the only truly special WM moment that I saw as it happened.

For myself, I would have to say hearing HHH tap, something I really didn't think was going to happen last year, to Beniot. I couldn't watch it cause I couldn't order it but I could hear it through scramble vision, and just hearing that hand slap that mat was one of the most wonderful things I've ever heard. The Rock/Hogan match is high up on the list just because it was something that I didn't expect happening at all.

I have a few, but my favorite would have to be Hogan vs. The Rock from WMX8, there was just something in the air that night long before the match even happened that let you know that you were going to witness something special. The only other moment that might come close is Bennoit & Guerrero both as champions in the middle of the ring at the end of WMXX.

Shawn Michaels winning the title at Wrestlemania 12. I was a young mark at the time and went nuts. Looking back it's kinda pathetic.

WWE Champion Eddie Guerrero and World Champion Chris Benoit crying and embracing in the ring admidst confetti to close out WrestleMania XX. And then Dean Malenko coming out after the show to embrace the two men while probably also crying. I'm sure Perry Saturn was in his apartment in between indy bookings watching on TV crying too, for other reasons.

1. Chris Benoit making Triple H tap for the World Heavyweight Championship at Wrestlemania XX.

 

2. The Gimmick Battle Royal from Wrestlemania X-Seven.

 

I marked out for both of those.

I suppose it was the first time I saw Wrestlemania III and was in awe over the size of the crowd. Unreal.

 

Also, during the Savage/Steamboat match, Ventura said something about it being one of the best matches he's ever seen right around the time that I was thinking the same thing.

From what I've experienced watching on TV...

 

Austin winning the title at Mania 15, Benoit winning the IC title at Wrestlemania 16, Rock/Hogan at Wrestlemania 18, pretty much loved Wrestlemania 19, and Benoit winning the title at Mania 20. (Never watching Mania 17 live! )

 

Like I could really name down one favorite moment.

Of course, I'm a Freebird mark and Hayes is my all-time favorite wrestler.

Match Moments:

 

Rock vs. Hogan at X8 and Benoit vs. HHH vs. HBK at XX since I was there for both of them and watching at home simply can't do those matches justice. The heat for both was just off the scale.

 

My other favorite moment is from WrestleMania VII: the Macho Man and Liz reunion. Still probably one of my all time favorite moments and one of the few true "happy" endings that WWF ever game us.

1. Benoit making HHH tap out at WMXX, and the post-match hug between him and Eddie Guerrero. Got my friend Eric, who isn't even into wrestling, emotional (me and my buddy Chris explained to him why Benoit winning was such a big deal before the match even started).

 

2. Austin pinning HBK at WrestleMania 14 with the Stunner after blocking Sweet Chin Music (also my favorite Stunner hit to date).

 

3. Kane delivering the Tombstone to Pete Rose in the chicken costume at WrestleMania 15.

The Return of The Undertaker and Paul Bearer at WMXX. hearing the famous "Oh YESSSSSSSSSS" to start off the entrance was just awesome. and the crowd went nuts!

Being there live when Benoit won the World Title was the most surreal moment of my wrestling fandom. Nothing could ever top that.

 

Being apart of the atmosphere for Hogan/Rock at WrestleMania X8 is a close second, while Hogan/Warrior ranks up there as well, being my earliest memory of wrestling.

I just like when there's a real happy ending/blowoff.

 

Benoit winning last year was great, but it wouldn't have been nearly as amazing if Eddie hadn't come to the ring. That made it timeless. As many said at the time, might as well stop watching now, because nothing's going to top that.

 

The Savage/Elizabeth reunion makes even non-fans sit back and say "wow."

 

If you can sense real, raw emotion in what's going on, it's an automatic favorite.

I'd have to say Savage-Liz Reunion. That was the first WM I saw live and it was something special (Though I had just recently got into wrestling, I had heard of the history between the two). The match with Warrior was great, I was on the edge of my seat rooting for UW (I was 8 at the time guys). Then the post match happenings made it a memorable wm for me (I still enjoy the show, probably cuz it was my first).

 

Other than that, I'd say Savage beating Flair for the WWF title at WM8 and Warrior's run-in to save Hogan at the end of the show.

 

Honorable mention to Linda Mcmahon rising from her coma to kick Vince in the grapefruits at wm 17. as well as Jeff hardy attempting to walk all the ladders and Edge later spearing him out of the sky.

 

 

Piper's shocking return at wm 19 is up there as well.
