the max 0 Report post Posted March 1, 2005 Got my tickets for this sunday: Phillies v. Red Sox as well as St. Patty's Day (GREEN HATS~!) against Los Marlins. For the Phillies, I have third row behind the Phighting Phils dugout, so any derogatory remarks that al or any other Phillies fan would like me to yell are more than welcome. I plan to take my digital and snap some pictures, especially if the Red Sox plan on wearing the green jerseys this year. Anyone else going to any ST games? EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted March 1, 2005 I live too far away from Florida. And I would never jeer opposing fans. I'm more likely to discuss their team's top prospects.
the max 0 Report post Posted March 1, 2005 I meant jeer the Phighting Phils. I don't know enough about any of them and my insults are usually pretty lame as it is.

Guest Wart Report post Posted March 1, 2005 I went to 4 ST games in Florida last year. Pretty fun except for my dad getting nailed by a foul ball hit by Jose Vidro. Wish I could make it again this year, but don't have the money.
NoCalMike 0 Report post Posted March 1, 2005 The A's play down in Arizona for the majority of their spring training games, but usually at the end they play the Giants in the annual Bay Bridge series, and in the last two seasons they have played their top Triple A team the Sacramento Rivercats here in Sac. If they do that again this season I am definately going.
Styles 0 Report post Posted March 1, 2005 Nope, I went to one Spring Training game a few years back between the Braves and Expos when I was in Florida but that was it. Although this Saturday on Comcast Sportsnet Mid-Atlantic: Orioles vs. Nationals! The Battle of the Beltway kicks off! OH MY~!
Guest Brian Report post Posted March 1, 2005 Pops (and mom) went down to Peoria to watch the M's, so I might head down during Spring Break to visit some friends. But I doubt it.
Big McLargeHuge 0 Report post Posted March 1, 2005 My mom and step-dad are going to Scottsdale to check out Giants games. Which sucks cause I'm a WAY bigger fan than either of them, but I've gotta stay and hold down the fort.
the max 0 Report post Posted March 6, 2005 Got back from the game a little bit ago. An enjoyable outing with good seats. A lot of non-fans there, which was amusing for a few reasons (a woman sitting behind us flinching and saying "GOD" everytime someone made contact with the damn ball.) but frustrating for other reasons (non-fans do little else than get up and go to the concession stands. The guy beside me had three lemonades, two cokes, and two bud lights...I'd hate to be him driving two hours to get home now...) On the bright, this meant that most of them were gone after five innings, meaning that we had the seats to ourselves (as well as the cool-ass souvenier cups and ice-cream-in-the-helmet-helmets...I got four souvenier cups and two helmets). The game was good, the starters stayed in longer than I expected (Manny played six, Thome played eight but he was DH'ing). Red Sox starter Jeremi Gonzalez (who I didn't even know they had signed) went two, giving way to Bhung-Yung Kim, who was lustily booed as he made his way to the mound. He then proceeded to give up a two hits and yield two walks (forcing in a run) before Wallace came out (to a huge cheer) to calm him down. There were quite a few Red Sox fans heckling Kim, some of them laugh outloud funny. "What city will you be playing your AA ball in this year?" [ball 2] "PAWTUCKET RHODE ISLAND" [ball 3] [ball 4] "ATTA GIRL" [ball 1] "You gonna throw 51 balls?" [strike 1] [crowd erupts in a mock cheer] I'll post my pictures later on. I got a few Phillies, since we were on their side of the field.
