WWE 24/7 Recieves Clearance on Cox Cable

Recommended Posts

WCW Spring Stampede 2004

I'd really like to see this show.

Typo. I meant 1994.

but when you order it, are you ordering it for one event or for the month or a week? Whats the time limit, because 6 to 10 bucks a pop adds up if it is just till an event is over compared to being biweekly or monthly

The way I understand, and the way the programming schedules read, the 6 to 10 bucks covers the entire month. Each week there's a set of programming, which I assume probably averages out to only so many hours of a day, and that block replays every day that week. The next week, a new programming block replaces the prior week's block (although since it's only 20 hours, some of the same material is repeated). So, week 1 they might air some specials, a full length PPV, some old TV shows. Week 2, maybe they change the PPV, change a special, keep the tv shows, etc.

Basically, way I see it the price covers an entire month of programming (it's just that the programming is largely the same, week after week, because of the 20 hour limit).

Like I said, 20 hours is pretty skimpy considering what they COULD give us, but 10 bucks for 20 hours is worth it, at least to me, considering that for the 20 hours they seem to be giving at least 2 to three PPVs plus a lot of old school stuff. I don't know about you, but there's enough nostalgia in my sould that I'd pay the money just to see some old tapes of the Killer Bees vs. Nikolai Volkoff & The Iron Sheik.

Well considering that this is still a relatively new concept they don't want too throw too much weight behind it as of yet. Despite the success the 24/7 division will receive.

Probably later as they see the numbers come back and the money roll in, more hours per month will be added.

By the look of the schedule it appears they do rerun some of the specials, but the TV events and PPVs they do switch up some.

You're both confused. This is a Video On Demand service. Things aren't "played" throughout the week. Think of it this way. For the monthly block price (lets say $10), you can access a "buffet" of video content. You click with your remote to the On Demand option on your menu, and then click on WWE 24/7 and all the programming being offered should come up. Assuming you subscribed, you can select any one you want to watch. Watch them all. Watch some. Watch one over and over again. Pause them in the middle. Rewind them. Whatever. It's like having an unlimited video rental service, only your videos are right on screen and all prepaid in the flat fee, so you can choose to play them and stop them whenever you want (as long as they're being offered at the time).

If this still confuses you, think of the WWE jukebox online service. It's similar, you subscribe monthly, and as long as you subscribe you can access any of the video content offered at any time you want...

Yea its almost like accessing a dvd menu. I recently got OD here and ordered a few movies so far, you get to watch them over and over for 24 hours. Plus they have tons of free extras and programs you can play (including a section for music videos)

We have Cox here.  FUCK YEAH!  :headbang:

Yes, but does your Cox use VOD for anything other than PPV currently?

Last time I talked to Las Vegans, they said no. PPVs only, although I had heard either way that they may or may not carry the premium services like HBO and Showtime's VOD offering.

So, they might actually sign with Cox, but you'll get fucked over just like every other VOD service Cox signs with. Considering that my Comcast here gives me a whole bunch of free services, I have to admit that scaled-down VOD kind of dampens the mood of my impending Vegas move.

Wow, this really sucks, all things considered. Cox is selling several of their service areas. My area is exempted.

HA! Did you actually call them or are you just responding to me? I told the people I talked to that I swear to god I saw it on their website (I couldn't remember what link was provided in this thread) and they basically told me I'm nuts...
