I like Forums 0 Report post Posted March 7, 2005 Is this match going to be a Bart Gunn vs. Butterbean type of situation? If it is a shoot, who do you think is going to win? Akebono has actual master level training in a fighting style. Big Show also doesn't have much of a size advantage other than height. Although I've seen Akebono get his ass kicked by Bob Sapp so I figure the the Big Show has a larger reach and maybe an equally devistating punch. What do you guys think? claydude14 0 Report post Posted March 7, 2005 I think it will be worked... as a wrestling match or sumo battle or something else who knows, but they can't risk having Show get injured, he's a bit higher on the card then a Bart Gunn.
Guest Trivia247 Report post Posted March 8, 2005 this match is about well put together as Tenryu & Kitao vs Demoltion. No build up no reason
Guest Shadow Report post Posted March 8, 2005 Has this even been officially confirmed? I know Meltz made mentions of them considering the idea, esp considering the promo TBS shot on him back on the japan tour. They are really dropping the ball this year. Last week on Smackdown, after he beat Rene Dupree and Dawn Marie, he was talking to Joy and Funaki proposed the idea to him.

Hunter's Torn Quad 0 Report post Posted March 8, 2005 Why on earth would it be anything other than a complete work ? If it happens, it will be a horrible match that will probably obliterate the negative star scale, and when all is said and done it'll mean nothing.
Guest animal! Report post Posted March 8, 2005 Akebono is an old fat retired sumo wrestler who can now barely move. Finally someone slower the the "Big Slow"
RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted March 8, 2005 It'll be like this.. *Big Show and Akebono stand in the middle of the ring and face off. They trade punches and bounce off the ropes and try to knock each other down.* *Simon Dean comes out and calls them both fat* *They destroy Simon Dean* *Shake Hands* *Big Show chokeslams Akebono*
Hunter's Torn Quad 0 Report post Posted March 8, 2005 It'll be more of a chokepushAkebonoover
RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted March 8, 2005 Somehow, it would still manage to knock Akebono out... Best Sponsorship Placement Ever.
Guest Trivia247 Report post Posted March 8, 2005 Well To the uneducated Observer people thought Bart Gunn would walk all over Butterbean
Hunter's Torn Quad 0 Report post Posted March 8, 2005 I don't think anyone, Observer reader or not, rated Bart Gunn's chances at beating Butterbean that highly. Common sense says that the guy more used to actual legit fights has the advantage over a guy who probably hasn't done a shoot, BFA aside, for years.
The Metal Maniac 0 Report post Posted March 8, 2005 Akebono has actual master level training in a fighting style. But that style is SUMO WRESTLING, which is literally just trying to push a big fat guy out of a circle. I mean, he could slap him a few times or something, but still. Sumo is NOT a very effective style outside of Sumo wrestling. Besides, there's no way in hell it'll be a shoot. NONE.
NoCalMike 0 Report post Posted March 8, 2005 We may have found a match that will be worse then Savage(subbing for Goldberg) vs. Rick Steiner in Japan.
Slickster 0 Report post Posted March 8, 2005 Well, I would assume that since Akebono has zero ring experience, this match is going to planned move-for-move, start-to-finish to ensure that nobody gets hurt or looks stupid. Ditto for Christy-Trish; in both cases the non-wrestlers are probably going to be guided through a totally preplanned series of spots to ensure that we have no Jackie Gayda moments on the biggest show of the year.
