strummer 0 Report post Posted March 10, 2005 from Meltzer: --Hulk Hogan's induction into the WWE Hall of Fame (only Hogan, nobody else's) will air as a special at 11 p.m. on 4/2 on Spike TV, and replayed at 5 p.m. the afternoon of Wrestlemania.
Guest LooneyTune Report post Posted March 10, 2005 It's honest: No one gives a damn about anyone on it except Hogan... and Roddy Piper, but he always gets screwed over. Paul Orndorff is a good wrestler, but he doesn't scream HoF, and neither do people like Nikolai "Will Job For Food" Volkoff, and the Iron Sheik.
Guest Arnold_OldSchool Report post Posted March 10, 2005 11 pm... Velocity's airtime, correct?

I think they will be on there by default because Hogan's biggest matches were with them barring Warrior/Savage/DiBiase/Andre. Then again is it the actual induction or just some video special? I think Piper should get his due too. He was that big during Hogan's hey day.
Mecha Mummy 0 Report post Posted March 11, 2005 They should really just do the whole thing in my opinion. How long was last year's HoF ceremony?

Guest LooneyTune Report post Posted March 11, 2005 I heard it was in the neighborhood of 4-5 hours, and they trimmed it down for the DVD to around 3 (as mentioned).

Exactly - order it from Deepdiscountdvd.com - it's $16.18 right now with free shipping. Probably a better price than you'll find at a "big box" retail store, unless you happen to find it used at a local DVD shop or something. It's a good DVD, for sure. No one match on it is a "five-star classic", but for a nostalgic look back, it's pretty awesome.

Most of the speeches are good but Heenan's steals the show.
reign 0 Report post Posted March 12, 2005 I think that the Iron Sheik will get on stage to confront Hogan leading to Hassan and Davari entering and issuing a challenge...maybe a slap? Get that over on free tv with the terrorist versus our All-American hero...I'm guessing we'll not be hearing any Jimmy this year though
Slickster 0 Report post Posted March 12, 2005 I would be surprised if Hogan's induction ceremony is uninterrupted. The most likely suspects would be Hassan and Daivari, since it appears that they are running an angle where they will be left off the WM card. This hotshotting of a PPV match could be very smart booking and will add some last-minute buys especially when the fans that didn't see it live see it replayed on Heat before the show. I care about it, and apparently Spike TV cares enough to let WWE have live TV time.
Guest LooneyTune Report post Posted March 12, 2005 I care too, but if everyone was equally important, they would air more than Hogans. Of course, I think it's a safe bet that some kind of angle is coming out of it (because WWE has to fuck around with everything), so maybe thats the whole point of it being broadcasted.
