natey2k4 0 Report post Posted March 15, 2005 I was just watching the RAW is OWEN (I know sad moment, we miss you Owen) and back then Shamrock was one of my favourite wrestlers. But he was the only man who didnt have an Owen Hart armband on.... any idea what this was about?
Precious Roy 0 Report post Posted March 15, 2005 Shamrock trained in the Hart dungeon with Bret prior to joining the WWF, and far as I know was on good terms with Owen and the rest of the Hart family. The two of them worked some super stiff matches together (Dungeon Match, Lion's Den) and with that kind of stuff, in a scripted sport, you have to be on the same page. Never heard anything about beef between them personally

Guest LooneyTune Report post Posted March 15, 2005 Someone used this logic in the previous topic... On Seinfeld, Kramer was participating in the AIDs walk, but didn't want to wear the ribbon. Everyone made a big deal over the ribbon, despite him volunteering to do the walk. Just because they don't wear the ribbon (or in this case, arm band) doesn't mean they don't care. cawthon777 0 Report post Posted March 15, 2005 I've heard stories of Shamrock being anti-social and even dick-ish to fans during that specific timeframe but have never heard of him having heat or receiving heat from any of the boys.
Precious Roy 0 Report post Posted March 15, 2005 You know, seeing as how Shamrock is from the MMA world and the way his character was, I would just think it was Shamrock selling the intensity of the matches between them, out of respect for Owen as a competitor and for how Shamrock might have thought Owen would have wanted him to keep kayfabe
Placebo Effect 0 Report post Posted March 15, 2005 From the newsgroups... I passed along to Ken the debate raging on this newsgroup and asked him to respond to the allegations that he was disrespectful to Owen Hart, for not wearing the armband in the ring during his match with Bob Holly on last Monday's RAW. He said he "chose to honor Owen in his heart, rather than on his arm." A lot of you don't know, Ken, when he came into the WWF, was trained by Bret Hart in Calgary and, like Owen, is a family man. His wife talked to Owen backstage, a short time prior to the tragedy. Ken, and his wife, lost a good friend.

Guest DVD Spree Report post Posted March 15, 2005 Nah, his usage of commas in the last paragraph and line was very proficient – we could do with more of that on this board.

natey2k4 0 Report post Posted March 15, 2005 Thank you so much people... Shamrock was one of my favourites.. but I just never figured out why he didnt wear the arm band, when all the other faces even did... Thanks for the help though.. as now I can rest that Shamrock wasn't a prick to Owen, two of my favourirte wrestlers:)

Dude come on people use way too many commas. Being a smart guy I never got why for crying out loud you'd need to do that. To me it just seems silly. I had heard this debate, but always assumed the best about Shammy. Good to see that it's true.
