Guest Smues Posted March 27, 2005 Report Posted March 27, 2005 And North Carolina moves on to the Final Four. This IS just the NFL playoffs all over again. I need to stop watching.
Mik Posted March 27, 2005 Report Posted March 27, 2005 Good news: We're in the final four. Bad news: I will be in San Diego for a conference all next weekend into Wednesday. So I won't be here on Franklin St. for all the bedlam if we take the crown. At least my conference is in San Diego and not somewhere unappealing. Go HEELS.
Alro Posted March 27, 2005 Report Posted March 27, 2005 I have not been this nervous about a game since the UK/U of L game in December. It is going to be damn close.
iggymcfly Posted March 28, 2005 Report Posted March 28, 2005 Edit: I just posted something that was completely wrong so I'll just replace it with a GO STATE!
iggymcfly Posted March 28, 2005 Report Posted March 28, 2005 That's got to be so incredibly hard to come off the bench and shoot a free throw to try to get your team to the Final Four. I actually would have been really surprised if he made it. Oh, and by the way, GO STATE!
Guest Smues Posted March 28, 2005 Report Posted March 28, 2005 Oh for FUCKS sake can one of these games NOT end with the team I want to lose coming from behind to tie it and force OT?
iggymcfly Posted March 28, 2005 Report Posted March 28, 2005 Oh my god. Talk about redemption. That was just surreal. I want Michigan State to win and I still can't help but appreciate that.
iggymcfly Posted March 28, 2005 Report Posted March 28, 2005 Oh, and if it's a 2, this is friggin hilarious.
Guest Smues Posted March 28, 2005 Report Posted March 28, 2005 It's too close to overturn, but it does look like he was slightly on the line. But I can't tell for sure.
iggymcfly Posted March 28, 2005 Report Posted March 28, 2005 To be honest, I think his foot was on the line.
bob_barron Posted March 28, 2005 Report Posted March 28, 2005 This is giving me a heart attack- call it a three!
Guest Shadow Posted March 28, 2005 Report Posted March 28, 2005 amazing finish(maybe) to an incredible elite eight.
iggymcfly Posted March 28, 2005 Report Posted March 28, 2005 The announcers love the story, and want the game to go to overtime, but it wasn't a three. The final should be 75-74 Michigan State.
Guest Smues Posted March 28, 2005 Report Posted March 28, 2005 These forwards/backwards/forwards/backwards replays are messing with my mind.
KingPK Posted March 28, 2005 Report Posted March 28, 2005 Let em' settle it in OT. It's not completely irrefutable to overrule.
Damaramu Posted March 28, 2005 Report Posted March 28, 2005 It looks like a 3. I don't think his toe was on the line. Especially after they blew it up for us.
Guest Smues Posted March 28, 2005 Report Posted March 28, 2005 I dunno now, on that blowup replay it looked like a 3.
bob_barron Posted March 28, 2005 Report Posted March 28, 2005 It looks like a three to me but they can't overturn it. You can't tell
iggymcfly Posted March 28, 2005 Report Posted March 28, 2005 I actually feel bad for the kid if it's a 2 pointer, but I'm pretty damn sure it is, and I'll take the win to keep my hopes alive for $150.
Guest Shadow Posted March 28, 2005 Report Posted March 28, 2005 this is like JFK "TO THE LEFT, AND TO THE RIGHT. TO THE LEFT AND TO THE RIGHT".
Guest Smues Posted March 28, 2005 Report Posted March 28, 2005 And to OT they go, where UK will win, because that's what happened in just about every damn game.
Edwin MacPhisto Posted March 28, 2005 Report Posted March 28, 2005 The blown-up replay was just too unclear. Three OTs and a fourth great game; what a weekend.
Damaramu Posted March 28, 2005 Report Posted March 28, 2005 That was definitely a 3. If you look at where he took off at it was a 3. Good job by the refs.
Cartman Posted March 28, 2005 Report Posted March 28, 2005 GREAT job refs, he was clearly behind the line on the blown up pictures.
Guest Shadow Posted March 28, 2005 Report Posted March 28, 2005 Thank god for CBS and their amazing technology.
Damaramu Posted March 28, 2005 Report Posted March 28, 2005 I'm actually rooting for UK just b/c I don't want to see 2 Big Ten teams in the Final Four. I could honestly care less about either team but I just want to see some variety in the Final Four.
2GOLD Posted March 28, 2005 Report Posted March 28, 2005 If the refs had ruled that a two, I would have happily accepted the fans storming the court and hurting them. If MSU wants to win it, win it in OT. There was no way they could overturn that call but I'm sure we'll hear bitchin about it all week if Michigan St loses. And I thought NFL replay was slow.
