Guest Coffey Posted March 20, 2005 Report Posted March 20, 2005 What's up with his boots? It looks like that shit fell apart and he duct taped it back together.
Guest jm29195 Posted March 20, 2005 Report Posted March 20, 2005 I always thought Albert would benefit from Japanese experience, I just think he's got all the tools but just needs to refine his style- plus he's the sort of big western wrestler who would get over well as a monster in Japan I'd have thought....
Guest Salacious Crumb Posted March 20, 2005 Report Posted March 20, 2005 Albert will be huge in Japan.
razazteca Posted March 20, 2005 Report Posted March 20, 2005 Albert has either a bad sunburn or uses the wrong brand of fake tan in a bottle!
Sass Posted March 20, 2005 Report Posted March 20, 2005 Albert is wearing the same kind of boots Edge is wearing post-neck surgery. I'm just surprised Muto and AJ didn't bring him in sooner. The guy is huge and looks like an oddity with all that hair, although it looks a little trimmed back this time. The gaijin list of challengers for Kojima is growing.
SinToxic Posted March 20, 2005 Report Posted March 20, 2005 I actually prefer him over Chuck/Rico whose looks and ring talent I completely dislike. I just hope they don't nominate Albert as Kojima's first opponent just for being fired from WWE. With booted gaijins, post match beat downs and more DQ decision than in TNA AJPW is becoming a WWE alternative for the fans of the WWE product who happen to be just vacationing in Japan. And that tattoo on his thigh, did he have that for a while?
Sass Posted March 20, 2005 Report Posted March 20, 2005 The thigh tat has been on Albert ever since he switched from pants to short tights in the WWE. He didn't have it when he made his debut in '98 though.
Spaceman Spiff Posted March 21, 2005 Report Posted March 21, 2005 Is that Chuck w/ the bat and Johnny Stamboli w/ the chair?
SinToxic Posted March 21, 2005 Report Posted March 21, 2005 Yep and I like what Stamboli did to his balding head.
Spaceman Spiff Posted March 21, 2005 Report Posted March 21, 2005 What did he do? I can't make it out in the pic. I like Chuck & Stamboli, and was bummed to see the WWE let them go. At least they've found work in Japan. Good for them.
Guest bort Posted March 21, 2005 Report Posted March 21, 2005 I think he could be HUGE in AJ. Let him work for a few tours getting used to the style and such. im guessing that they are gonna bulid a match up with Jamal as they are the 2 big men for there stables. I think AJ is the most interesting group right now.
Some Guy Posted March 22, 2005 Report Posted March 22, 2005 Are Albert, Chuck, and Stambolli really going to get over in Japan? I can see Albert because of his size but the other guys suck in the ring. It's seems that there is a recently released WWE lower-midcarder invasion in AJPW.
Guest Salacious Crumb Posted March 22, 2005 Report Posted March 22, 2005 It's iffy on Stramboli and Palumbo. They could be seeing that Jamal is over huge in Japan right now. But anymore being American is enough to get cheered in Japan.
Sass Posted March 23, 2005 Report Posted March 23, 2005 Via Zach over at PuroPower: The new name given to Matt Bloom/A-Train in All Japan is "Giant Bernard," a take off of the old "Brute Bernard" gimmick. Giant Bernard? Sounds like a dog's name. buffybeast has gotta be pleased with this news.
Open the Muggy Gate Posted March 24, 2005 Report Posted March 24, 2005 I would have just called him Big Matt Bloom. Bernard really does sound like a dog's name.
Detective Comics Posted March 24, 2005 Report Posted March 24, 2005 He looks much flabbier than he did in WWE.
SinToxic Posted March 25, 2005 Report Posted March 25, 2005 And he will participate in this year's Champion Carnival: BLOCK A: - Satoshi Kojima - Kensuke Sasaki - Love Machine Arashi - Taiyo Kea - Shuji Kondo - Giant Bernard BLOCK B: - Keiji Muto - Toshiaki Kawada - Kohei Suwama - Jamal - Buchanan - Chuck Palumbo So he beats Kondo, Arashi and possibly Kea (hope not). It'll be interesting to see if he gets a monster push off the bat or a slow start like Malice and Buchanan got. Block B will have some ugly ugly matches.
Toshiaki Koala Posted March 25, 2005 Report Posted March 25, 2005 A Champion Carnival featuring Jamal, Bull Buchanan, Chuck Palumbo, and Albert? Just further proof that AJPW will no longer exist five years from now. And is there any place Taka can go where he won't get squashed by hosses?
SinToxic Posted March 25, 2005 Report Posted March 25, 2005 And is there any place Taka can go where he won't get squashed by hosses? Considering how popular it is to book juniors with heavyweights in tag matches, no junior is ever safe. Although NOAH usually lets juniors pin each other in such "mix" tag matches.
Guest bort Posted March 26, 2005 Report Posted March 26, 2005 I saw his debut. He looked bigger and i think he needs some pants or somthing. I was pretty impressed with what i saw of Johnny the Bull in the match, his strikes were impressive and he didnt look out of place. I thought Chuck looked a little iffy in the match, his punches didnt really go over like i though, His finishers kinda cool. Its a fallway slam into a firemans drop, he does it in 1 quick motion
SinToxic Posted March 27, 2005 Report Posted March 27, 2005 Chuck actually comes out dressed like Chono, well sorta; leather jacket with chains and sunglasses. Completely impossible to buy. Stamboli has a good look, tried a quarter inch mohawk for a few days and now he's back with a bald shave.
Spaceman Spiff Posted March 29, 2005 Report Posted March 29, 2005 Chuck is rule, Chuck is law. Don't let me catch you bad-mouthing a wrestling god like Palumbo again.
Guest jm29195 Posted April 22, 2005 Report Posted April 22, 2005 Does anyone have any photos of the new looks of any ex wwe guys in Japan? cheers!
