2GOLD 0 Report post Posted March 24, 2005 I think some get McGwire and Bonds mixed up. McGwire has only been alledged to have used steroids (even in the FBI report there was no evidence collected) but Bonds is on record as confessing to "unknowingly" using steriods. Also in the BALCO case there is a long paper trail as they documented everything they gave to athletes. 2GOLD, the cream and the clear were steroids, Bonds just said he didn't know they were. I know and as I said, I don't care about rehab creams and clear. The cream is great at rebuilding muscle but that is all it really does. If you keep using it, it does nothing. Literally nothing. You don't get increased muscle mass from either item. It's not the shot, which will give you the illusion of increased muscle but the truth is your muscle is weak and your bones get bad. I studied up on steroids when I was given the cream cause I was worried about all of it.
Bored 0 Report post Posted March 24, 2005 "The Clear" is not a cream, it's the steroid THG that's taken orally and yes it can help build muscle mass.
Guest Mosaicv2 Report post Posted March 24, 2005 Oh my God! Pedro Gomez (as usual) is reporting that Bonds is going to rehab... repilies.
Bored 0 Report post Posted March 24, 2005 So instead of up to the second updates of pointless Bonds' at bats this year is ESPN going to break into reports on his rehab?
the max 0 Report post Posted March 24, 2005 I feel bad for Pedro Gomez. "Day 157 of Bondsgate: Barry stopped for gas before rehab this morning and bought a JELLY DOUGHNUT!! No word on what was in his cup when he came out from the gas station, but hopefully it was coffee, since he's so tired."
The Czech Republic 0 Report post Posted March 24, 2005 Pedro Gomez looks like such a douchebag, so I don't feel TOO bad for him
EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted March 25, 2005 Anyway, I have had knee injuries, three to the same knee in fact. Trust me I know what it feels like. Three torn ligaments skiing (at the same time). Total reconstructive knee surgery. Sprained twice, surgery to clean it out of debris both times. Have dislocated it 4 times since. Hell I've played a softball double header after dislocating it and shoving it back in because we didn't have enough guys to cover me. A year and a half for recovery? Again I ask... What did he do to his knee to need a year and a half? Bonds has never said he might be out a year and a half. Plus, this is much harder when you are older, and baseball players also must live up to an expected level of performance. Bonds could play in a month, and he'll tank the Giants' season when he can't cover the gaps in left field. Your little softball league is hardly the ultra-competitive MLB. Gert T 0 Report post Posted March 25, 2005 I'm torn on this topic. Ripper I respect you for what you say, usually it's what some of us are thinking and just won't say it. As far as the injury goes, at 40 it will be much harder to come back. Its the reason why normal people say it hurts a little more getting out of bed after 30 or so. As far as injuries go the only real one I had was in college, I tore ligaments in my ankle in late February before our tennis season started (I know real contact sport!) Anyway, it is tough because you want to go out there and perform at your best, but injuries to ankles and knees are used in all little movements. Barry does not want to come out and struggle, for his personal pride and he would get bashed that he is not doing as well because there is "steroid testing" now. However, I will not throw the media and fans under the bus. Barry makes close to 20 million dollars. In every other job in America, who faces the most scrutiny? It is almost always the person who makes a lot of money. It is a trade off. Barry makes money off of the media too, all of the papers sold and talking heads on TV may increase exposure and larger attendance at home and road games. Is the media negative and have it out for Barry Bonds? Maybe, but they have voted him MVP 7 times. If they really had it out for Bonds, Albert Pujols would have some MVP's As far as the San Francisco Chronicle, 80% of me says F.U. to them for delving into the personal issues, but at the same time steroid use (illegal, though currently unknowingly), tax evasion (illegal) and having a girlfriend while married (illegal) are issues that make Barry less sparkling. I know that stuff should be done in house, and I don't "live the life" so I wouldn't understand, but it still doesn't make it right. And I agree, Barry Bonds is a Top 5 all-time player. You are right, the MLB is not anything like my very low level softball league. Of course I don't get paid millions to play softball. I get paid peanuts to work in an office. It's not my job to rehabilitate my knee so that I can get back on the field and win a championship. It's not like we are talking about someone with a 9-5 job here. HIS JOB is to play baseball. His rehab is going to be intense, much more so than anything I have ever even considered doing. It shouldn't take him even half the season (which is half the freaking year) to get back on the field. I don't care what the extent of his injury is.
Guest pinnacleofallthingsmanly Report post Posted March 26, 2005 Sometimes I want to make a relevant post about something, but I see stupid shit like the post above and just can't be bothered. When Barry Bonds is acting out and feeling bitter, it's because of people like you. He's getting shitted on right now by everybody and all people care about is how fast he can come back and hit some dingers. Maybe he has more important things on hid mind (gold-digging bitches, gold-digging has-beens, his health, his family, etc.,) than playing baseball. If he says, "fuck it, I'm shutting this shit down," I don't really blame him.

If he says, "fuck it, I'm shutting this shit down," I don't really blame him. Actually I have always defended Barry in the past. My point of view has always been that he didn't (and still doesn't) owe anyone anything. People call him an asshole because he's not Mr. Sunshine with the media and I call that bullshit. He is right about one thing. The media are a bunch of trash. They seem to feast on the negative while only occasionally reporting the positive. The bottom line is that Barry plays baseball for a living and people villify him for not being Mr. Niceguy, and thats ridiculous. If he decided to say "fuck this shit, I'm shutting down" that's fine with me. But don't come out and say "My knee hurts ooo boo hoo" while blaming other people. Tell it like it is and stop being a little bitch.
Ripper 0 Report post Posted March 28, 2005 But he didn't say his knee hurts because of the media. Thats like saying "I woke up and had sex with my wife then went downstairs to get breakfast" is the same as saying "I woke up and had sex with the breakfast".
