natey2k4 0 Report post Posted April 19, 2005 I don't know about anyone else.. but those guys totally made my night (after Christian of course).. but that was AMAZING. Their entrance was so... awesome.. and their whole gimmick was.. great. It made me cry I was laughing so hard.. and the best thing was... they didn't completely overdue it in the ring, like Rico used to do. The match was actually pretty damn good.. Now I'm going to have to watch for a few weeks before I pick between The Heart-Throbs and MNM... I love both teams!

Guest Salacious Crumb Report post Posted April 19, 2005 They'll just get their knees cut out from under them and buried like most of the new guys on Raw have. It's not worth investing anything into them.

2GOLD 0 Report post Posted April 19, 2005 I couldn't watch Raw, I need details of what they're all about. what exactlly is the gimick? Take Billy and Chuck and make it MORE FLAMING! That was hilarious but that tag team finisher left a lot to be desired. They didn't look too bad in the ring though and they seemed to be having fun out there. The looks from Yoshio sold the living hell out of it though.
ISportsFan 0 Report post Posted April 19, 2005 Basically they come out with pink and black boas thrusting constantly. They act kind of gay (and apparently that was their OVW gimmick), but Coach was talking about how many women they got while hanging out with the Coach last night. They weren't that good in the ring, but Regal playing face-in-peril didn't help things (Regal's worst attribute probably is his selling). The crowd crapped on them and the match, probably indicating that they should have gotten promos or videos to lead into them appearing. Jason Edit: I forgot to mention that I enjoyed their entrance a whole lot. It's very entertaining.

Guest PimpDaddySarp Report post Posted April 19, 2005 I think the joke is everyone realizes they are gay except them (and apparently Coach). Like Ace & Gary.
krease 0 Report post Posted April 19, 2005 Well Coach made sure to point out they aren't gay. Unless part of some payoff later is to make everyone but Coach realize they're gay...

And I also thought they did very good in the ring, considering they'd probably never worked with Regal or Tajiri before.. and they had to be nervous. Plus Regal is terrible at selling, which hurt them a bit too.
ISportsFan 0 Report post Posted April 19, 2005 The crowd, I thought, was chanting boring near the latter portions of the match. They also didn't seem that interested in the post-match beatdown nor the hot tag to Tajiri. In their defense though, Regal and Tajiri haven't been on Raw since the Raw before WrestleMania, so it's not like this was a big happening. Jason
Guest PimpDaddySarp Report post Posted April 19, 2005 Why do lower-midcard heels keep hanging out with Coach? That guy is worse for careers than Triple H. Garrison Cade, Maven, Simon Dean...

The guy acted like he was in serious pain after the match was over. You couldn't GET better selling than what Regal delivered in that match.
ISportsFan 0 Report post Posted April 19, 2005 Regal is good at selling long term and submission moves. Regal is not very good at selling punches, which is what the Heart Throbs gave a lot of. He sells punches and forearms with a slight delay, plus when he falls from a punch it's very unnatural, similarly to how JR did tonight when he fell from HHH punches. That's what I meant. natey2k4 0 Report post Posted April 19, 2005 Yeah I agree to an extent, but while the match was happening Regal seems to do the HBK style sell... After the match is fine and dandy.. HBK sells after the match too.. but he just gets fired up and seems to forget... Maybe it's just me. Plus what Jason just mentioned above me..
RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted April 19, 2005 The crowd appeared to be interested from the energy given from the entrance, but since they didn't do a lot of it in their match, the crowd seemed to had lessened interest.

razazteca 0 Report post Posted April 19, 2005 I enjoyed their entrance. Oddly enough, very similar to Too Cool. Heart-Throbs = Too Cool - Brian Christopher's laugh + (Intensity * 3.14159) So what are they going to call that double team move they did after the match......DOUBLE STROKE? ISportsFan 0 Report post Posted April 19, 2005 That's another thing I didn't really bring up in my original post -- the crowd didn't really lose interest until the match started (like RRR said). They were into the entrance, seemingly, but the match wasn't what they really wanted to see apparently (from my point of view on TV). Jason

The guy acted like he was in serious pain after the match was over. You couldn't GET better selling than what Regal delivered in that match. Exactly. The problem, IMO, with Regal is that he oversells. I mean, the guy gets punched once in the face and starts screaming like someone's twisting his testicles. Then goes and leans between the second and top rope making faces towards the camera and stuff. And then you have someone else in the match, get a few straight kicks to the face from Tajiri, and all they do is 'ugh!'. So I agree with the he isn't good at selling..because he just sells too much. RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted April 19, 2005 Heart-Throbs = Too Cool - Brian Christopher's laugh + (Intensity * 3.14159) YOU DIDN'T HEAR THE BRIAN CHRISTOPHER LAUGH??!?! It was soooo there! I think the blondish guy did it.
krease 0 Report post Posted April 19, 2005 There was also the quotes by the Coach during the match "They keep going in and out, in and out, it's like they've been together for a long time"; there were a few others similar to it, but I forget them...
razazteca 0 Report post Posted April 19, 2005 I think the team should be referred to as TOO INTENSE since one guy was trying too hard to emulated the mannerisms of Brian Christopher. I swear Ace or Gary or Romero whatever his name was just trying too hard too be serious in the ring.....which of course looked over rehearsed and over done. Doing the same stupid dance & goofy face just made him look like an idiot......was I suppose to laugh at that or boo him? Why did they bring in this team when the gimmick could of been done by a pair of Smackdown jobbers like say Scotty 2 Hotty & Shannon Moore?

Brian Christopher knew how to use the camera to his advantage while the guy that looked like Randy Orton with the pink headband acted like the average OVW bum who had no idea what to do but OVER ACT badly. Zack Malibu 0 Report post Posted April 19, 2005 I was happy. Always good to see OVW talent getting the callup at the right times. While they're not much in the ring, they're playing this schtick for all it's worth, so kudos for the WWE to capitalize. Now let's see how long it takes them to be turned babyface, since the OVW fanbase turned them face within a matter of weeks due to how over the top they play it. For you stating they overact, that's the whole point of the gimmick. For instance, in OVW they did a video working out to "Let's Get Physical". Great TV.
