Add in the smarky nature of MSG, and it's not that surprising. Brett Favre Posted April 22, 2005 Report Posted April 22, 2005 Cena cut a hell of a promo. That had me pumped up. Nice little T.V match; NY loves him. Angle and Bradshaw are great commentators, and Eddie is also over as fuck Melina is the hottest diva on the roster.

Right now a lot of guys have a direction: Cena is establishing himself as champ (unlike poor Batista), JBL, Big Show, Angle, and Booker are in the title chase. Eddie and Rey have their thing going, which is actually the most interesting angle in the company right now. They're also debuting and pushing new talent like MNM, who have a great gimmick and looked pretty decent tonight in the ring. I'm also a little shocked to see Carlito improving so much. I figured a couple months ago this guy was dead in the water, but he's gotten much more comfortable with his gimmick and is finding ways to work "cool" in without it being campy. I still insist that he get a finisher called the Carlito's Way when he returns to active competition. Hell, Carlito's Cabana is much fresher than Jericho's tired and stale Highlight Reel on Raw.

I thought Carlito was a HEEL WWE. Why would they be loudly cheering for him then? Why would you cut to a crowd shot of a man clearly saying "asshole" only for the viewer at home to be hearing loud cheering? They can't even edit right now.

It has a definite idea of where its going and the booking decsions (Angle and JBL attacking Booker and Show to eliminate them, keeping the focus on the title itself and not just one person) are logical and interesting. Granted, the WM match was a dissapointment but Rey's mask was screwing him up, so that won't play a factor here. JBL-Cena's about right, though if they use the gimmick right, it go as a high as **1/4.

They are 100 times better than JR/Lawler, and about 1,000,000 times better than Michael Cole. Tazz though is pretty good. At least he sounds natural, unlike Cole who forces "damn" out every 3 seconds when a heel does something smart.

They were both heels B. They spent most of the time bickering they still were putting both guys over in the ring, even with JBL saying Booker could be a world champion if he didn't pay so much attention to the fans or his wife. It such a fresh change compared to Raw where HHH buries all his challengers and guys like Batista are forced to go on television and talk about how much they respect him.

While I didn't care for JBL as WWE Champion, I do like the fact that he built up his opponents while still coming off like a heel. Plus, his character (which is very good) is really easy to hate (in a good way).

I think that was a UPN edit, not a WWE edit. In Canada on The Score, the chants weren't tampered with at all, so I don't know if you can fault WWE for that.
Taker666 Posted April 22, 2005 Author Report Posted April 22, 2005 SmackDown was really great tonight. JBL and Angle on comentary was fucking GOLD. they were great together on the Mic. Carlito's Cabana was another fun segment. It was great hearing "carlito" chants out there, hes truly one of the best on SD!, I'am still questioning rather the Eddie heel turn is a good idea. we'll just see where it goes from here. hes still one of my fav on SD!. I don't know what the say about Matt Morgan's new studder gimick. just see where it goes from here. he looks less generic than he use to look. that finishing move he pulled off was fucking tight though. they actually used the ECW DVD theme for his theme music. heh Eddie/Rey Vs MNM was a awesome Tag Match. I'am not surprised that MNM are new Tag Champions sence the the titles had to come off Eddie and Rey soon. did I mention that MNM's gimick is fucking awesome? Big Show/Booker Vs JBL/Angle was a fun Tag match. the fatal-4-way match next week is going to be one awesome match. I'am looking forward to that!. I hope the Cabinet doesn't split soon. they're one of the best thing on SmackDown plus, they're the only faction in the WWE right now. So I guess Heidenreich is a complete face now? can't believe people are actually cheering for him. not that I don't mind. just werid. he still has kick-ass theme music. Cena Vs OJ was a good match. but you could tell there was alot of editing during that match, like when Cena did the bulldog. good match overall though. overall, another awesome SmackDown!, and with the fatal-4-way next week, the rise of MNM, the Eddie/Rey storyline, Cena's continue popularity as champion, JBL just being JBL, and absolutly NONTHING of a Dive search sighting. things can only get better for the SmackDown! Brand. I just hope The Undertaker shows up soon to really complete this show.
