And everybody's missing my point. I hated Mike a lot of the time. Go find that thread where we were arguing over cause and effect for chrissakes, and tell me that I obviously wasn't damn near having a stroke over how stubborn he was. But to ban people simply because you didn't like the way they posted was wrong.

 

For that matter: banning people permanently with no second chances is wrong, period. I've always felt that way, but kept my peace until now.

 

Can you guys seriously say that Mike was just as bad as people like The Brain or xkillergonnahitemup, people who went out of their way to be offensive and mischevious just because it amused them? At least Mike really believed what he was screaming at you.

Perhaps I should clarify some of my previous posts in this thread. I don't care for the Vince McMahon philosophy of "America: love it or leave it". There is such a thing as wanting to help better a situation instead of acting like a little kid and running home to pout. There are some really cool posters on this board and I'd really like to see this site prosper. So, when I criticize things it's because I'd like to see things improve.

I could close it, but people are going to need to vent. There were positive and negatives to Mike, and the question of the banning is how long do you let the negatives go and are they detrimental to civil conversation. People deserve to discuss it, so I feel that it should run it's time.
