Ripper 0 Report post Posted February 23, 2008 Ripper, think, after watching Episode IV, I, and II, that you could probably agree that Lucas is an awful, awful writer/director. I can't speak for III, because that's an aberration for him (but so is THX1138, for that matter) but he's best just leaving the directing and writing to someone else, while coming up with the basic story, special effects (which were industry-changing), and producing on his own. Kinda like how Spike lee is a incredibly talented director but when he writes the movie, it is probably going to be a bunch of bullshit.

Ripper 0 Report post Posted February 25, 2008 I don't recall the Gungans being portrayed as slaves...in fact, I recall Padme kissing ass just to get their help in the big battle and afterwards forging a permanent peaceful alliance. I thought the only reason she kissed ass was because the Gugans had this belief that the humans felt they were better than them and that they were all stupid underlings. And she had to do that to show that they didn't feel that way. But if they didn't need them, I am pretty sure she wouldn't have been ass kissing. But they were portrayed to be dumb as bricks. Black Lushus 0 Report post Posted February 25, 2008 putting Jar Jar in charge of anything was awfully stupid...but then again, the Naboo-ians turned around and did that as well in a much grander scale and look what happened there!

Lil' Bitch 0 Report post Posted May 2, 2008 bps21: This is the way I looked at it: The Phantom Menace - I actually enjoyed the movie. The only thing wrong with it IMO was too much Jar Jar. Thankfully, Lucas listened to the fans for a change and made him an extra for the next two installments. Attack of The Clones - The sequel was fucking awful. The only things good about it in my mind were the Clone Troopers kicking ass and Anakin murdering Sand People (I hated them growing up and still do). Revenge of The Sith - The best of the trilogy for obvious reasons.

Obi Chris Kenobi 0 Report post Posted May 3, 2008 Sorry if this is only about the movies, but, is there any news on that Star Wars TV series they were planning?
Boner Kawanger 0 Report post Posted May 3, 2008 They're releasing some kind of two-hour+ theatrical episode here and overseas in August and supposedly it debuts near the end of the year.
Obi Chris Kenobi 0 Report post Posted May 3, 2008 Ah nice, half looking forward to it, to see how it works, to see what side characters they develop (if any) and how they evolve the universe. Hope they don't ignore the decades worth of Fiction Canon that has been created though.
Boner Kawanger 0 Report post Posted May 3, 2008 Aren't they already kinda ignoring the other Clone Wars cartoon that was supposed to canon? I wouldn't expect too much from the EU. Also, if you're interested, there's a voice cast outline on Wikipedia, not too many new characters or anything. Samuel L. Jackson is doing the voice of Mace Windu, surprisingly. He must be one of the only actors not embarrassed by the prequels.
ChrisMWaters 0 Report post Posted May 4, 2008 Mattdotcom: I was under the impression he meant the live action Star Wars TV series that takes place between Eps III and IV Quick opinion question: Who was the better Anakin actor: Jake Lloyd from Ep I, or Hayden from Eps II and III? Spaceman Spiff 0 Report post Posted May 4, 2008 Hayden. Hayden should have been in Ep. 1, too.

ChrisMWaters 0 Report post Posted May 5, 2008 Shoot. Sorry. I forgot there were two series coming. Really? Yes, there are. One is a CGI series set during the Clone Wars The other is a live action series set between Episode III and IV, which I heard that Boba Fett will play a big part in. Black Lushus 0 Report post Posted May 8, 2008 I just don't like the idea of Anakin having a Padawan...I know Mace Windu and Yoda have ultimately proven to not be the brightest bulbs in the bunch, but I just can't see them being cool with giving Anakin a young, impressionable mind to mold. I'll watch this, of course, but I'm sure there will be plenty of things to bitch about.
The Metal Maniac 0 Report post Posted May 8, 2008 I don't like that they're going to be changing up the Clone Wars storyline. I hope they at least keep the sweet battles with Grevious.
dubq 0 Report post Posted May 8, 2008 I don't see why this series needed to be remade - the Clone Wars thing. The Gennedy Tartakovsky version kicked all kinds of ass, IMO.
Lil' Bitch 0 Report post Posted August 14, 2008 So I just got done reading the Clone Wars book and it sucks! So Jabba The Hutt all of a sudden has a son named Rotta. Jabba's uncle, Ziro, conspires with Count Dooku to have Rotta kidnapped and blame it on the Jedi to make them enemies of Jabba so that Jabba can be an ally of the Separatists. Ziro hopes Jabba will be killed in the process so that he can take Jabba's place. Rotta is kidnapped. Jabba goes apesh**. Jabba asks Chancellor Palpatine for help and Obi Wan Kenobi is sent to Tattooine to bargain with Jabba. Jabba makes a deal with Kenobi that if his son is returned safe and sound, the Republic will have full access to all of the hyperspace routes in Jabba's control. The problem is Dooku arrives shortly after Kenobi leaves and Dooku spends the whole time BSing to Jabba about that the Jedi were behind the kidnapping. It takes awhile for Jabba to be convinced and he gives the same deal to Dooku about the Separists having use of Jabba's hyperspace routes. Meanwhile, Anakin and the new Jedi Padawan, Ahsoka, go to planet Teth (IIRC) where Rotta is being held captive by Asajj Ventress. Kenobi arrives a short time later and gets into a fight with Asajj. She loses and gets away. Rotta is rescued and Anakin with Ahsoka takes him back to Tattooine. Dooku tries to stop Anakin and they get into a brief scuffle in the desert. Anakin is shown to have gotten stronger during this fight. Anakin senses Dooku is just trying to distract him and gets away to Jabba's palace where Rotta is returned alive and well. Anakin reveals to Jabba it was Dooku behind the plot (along with Ziro's confession through a holographic comm link, he was arrested by Senator Amidala). Dooku and the Separatists are declared enemies of Jabba The Hutt and The Republic gain an important foothold in the Clone Wars having gotten Jabba's hyperspace routes that will give them an advantage in the conflict. So basically, the CGI looks like crap. The plot is incredibly lame. All that for a Hutt? It doesn't really add anything to the SW storyline. The whole adventure is just mainly filler. Windu, Yoda, and Palpatine are basically extras during the ordeal. Hayden and Ewan didn't come back to do the voice work. So please do yourself and skip out on this because it just came off as really bad fan fiction to me.
