Guest Quik Posted May 7, 2005 Report Posted May 7, 2005 So I decided I need to stop taking in so much sodium. I salt the shit out of everything. I've always done that, and since I'm a smoker I think the dying tastebuds just add to the need. It's not like I'm fat or anything, though. I just think it's bad that I throw like 4 tablespoons of salt on my mashed potatos. Should this be an issue for me at 19 years old?
Guest Vitamin X Posted May 7, 2005 Report Posted May 7, 2005 Holy fuck. That looks like Mexican candy, I bet. That shit's damn near toxic.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted May 8, 2005 Report Posted May 8, 2005 Salt inherently is not bad for you in modest amounts, however everything these days has salt in it and if you add more salt on to things it makes it worse.
Styles Posted May 8, 2005 Report Posted May 8, 2005 Do you have or are near hypertension? If not, don't worry about it...
kkktookmybabyaway Posted May 8, 2005 Report Posted May 8, 2005 Hm, that's odd. I consume salt by carton and it's done nothing harmful to me...
Guest hhheld_down Posted May 8, 2005 Report Posted May 8, 2005 i tend to eat alot of salt too, ramen noodles every fucking day, salty foods all the time. i figure we are all going to die some day anyway so why the fuck should i watch what i eat
Mik Posted May 8, 2005 Report Posted May 8, 2005 35% of individuals are not salt sensitive. They can eat as much salt as they want with no taxing of the kidneys or no increased risk of hypertension. I'd find out if salt is actually increasing your risk of disease before cutting it from your diet.
Jericholic82 Posted May 20, 2005 Report Posted May 20, 2005 My dad's family (and him) have a history of hypertension and high BP and diabetes so I better watch it. In fact I even take a pill for a high pulse rate (however my BP and Cholest. and sugar is great, my doc says it's the best numbers he has ever seen) . I lately have been trying to not eat too much salt and sugar. I have done well, losing almost 40 pounds in 8 months. frickin ramen has like 1000 or more mg of sodium a serving. especially those instant lunch soups in stryrofoam cups.
