WHY?! they didn't say one shit thing about your Yankees... and all of them actually have alot of respect for the Yankees. You can bash Pedro (when he was with the Red Sox) or Schilling, but these guys?

Kevin Millar: This guys talks a lot of shit for no reason. He was one of the Sox in the offseason who verbally attacked A-Rod for no apparent reason, other than the fact that he isn't a "true Yankee" like Jeter and Bernie and such are. This is a guy who signed to play in Japan before Boston rescued his dumbass. If he was a better player, and more important to his own team then I could give him a little leeway, but, well, he isn't.

Jason Varitek: It's funny that it comes down to A-Rod again, since he is just 2/25ths of the Yanks that I am not a fan of. Well, when I think Arroyo hit A-Rod last summer, Rodriguez had a few choice words for the pitcher, and tough guy Varitek got in his face with all of his gear on, mask and all. Defending your pitcher is one thing, especially when you are the captain of the team, but, come on, at least have the sack to take off your mask while you're in an escalating shoving match with a guy.

Manny Ramirez: This guy is another tough guy punk looking for a fight. Remember the famous Zimmer-on-his-head fiasco? He tries to get a brawl going when he ducks out of the way of a Clemens pitch that was OVER THE PLATE, not anywhere near his head. Then what does he do? Proceed more than a few steps towards the mound with BAT IN HAND.

David Ortiz: This guy just rubs me the wrong way. The way he watches his homers fly out of the park, his whole cocky aura. All this for a designated hitter who couldn't get it done for years in Minnesota, all of a sudden now he's a big somebody with a big head because the media is telling him how great he is.

The same dumbass who hit 3 homeruns against the Yankees in one game as I remember.

The east would have hammered them senseless, especially Phili and Boston.

Also the Eastern Conference was a tighter game and perfection was necessary. When you have four-six strong teams in a conference (Phili, Boston, NYI, Montreal) that matched you skill wise and toughness 20-30 games a season, your not going to registar the same amount of points as you are in the Western Conference. Mind you you'd see some really exciting Habs-Oilers games then too.

By the time the Oilers were dominant, the Isles were passed their prime and Boston & Philly were pretty much just good (certainly not great) ... from 1986~ish through the end of the decade, Montreal was the best of those 4 teams and that was mainly because of Roy.

Boston is the team that I can speak of the best, as I am from Boston and have been a die-hard fan since the late 1970s ... and it's laughable to say that the B's could have matched up with Edmonton in skills. Toughness, yes, because the B's were pretty definitely more of a physical team than a finesse team. But in terms of skills, not even close. This is a team that had players like LB, Milbury, Nilan, "Killer" Miller ... not exactly the skill players that Edmonton brought to the table.

I will give you that the Wales would have played a tougher, more physical game against the Oilers, but Gretzky was so far ahead of everyone else in skill-level, he'd have still registered a shitload of points. Maybe not the 200+, but my guess is still well over 150.

But it's much more fun to hate the Yanks.

Incidentally, I think Bugs Bunny was playing the Yankees on that one Looney Tunes where the batter used the fuckin tree log as a bat.

Talk about carry-over of hatred.

How about the play "The Damn Yankees" about a ex-Senators player selling his soul to the devil just to beat the Yankees and win the World Series

I'll break it down by sport:

Baseball:

Like:

Eric Gagne, He's a Dodger, 'nuff said

David Eckstien, Gotta love the little guy

Adam Kennedy, Strong player

Curt Schilling, Anyone who can go and throw in a playoff game on a busted wheel deserves legend status.

Dislike:

Derek Jeter, nothing personal, just never liked the guy

A-Rod, Big-Contract Bitch-Slapping Bush-Leaguer

Barroid Bonds, I'm a Dodger fan, plus I just never liked him

Football:

Like:

Brett Farve, again like Schilling goes out the night after his dad's death and touches up the Raiders (albeit they sucked ass) for three td's, not to mention I'm a Packer mark

Lebron, again like most I thought he would be a flash in the pan but considering he managed to resurrect the Cavs

Dislike:

Kobe, granted he can play, but other than that I think is an immature little shit

Steve Nash, other than the fact I think he looks like Mary Catherine Gallagher's long lost sister it's the fact that he makes mediocre teams great

Amare Stoudemire, just can't stand the guy for some reason

Sebastian Tellefair, just because your cuz is Stephon Marbury don't mean you're gonna be the next Lebron, Kobe or KG

NASCAR:

That was actually a book first, entitled The Year the Yankees Lost the Pennant. It was written in 1954, so this is when the Yankees had won five consecutive pennants, and six of the last seven. At its core, it is essentially a re-telling of Faust.

I guess you LOVE the Yankees!!

Love:

David Ortiz: He is a great power hitter, and it's more magnified by playing in a big media area.

Ben Sheets: Great pitcher, and would be the next huge star if he got out of Milwaukee.

Paul Loduca: Class act, and a REAL Dodger.

Tim Duncan: Keeps his mouth shut, plays the game extremely hard, and knows how to guide a team.

Hate:

A-Rod: He is stealing money from the Yankees and although I hate them, he's an incomplete player, he can't play defense at third and is a thief.

Kobe Bryant: The exact opposite reason that I like Tim Duncan, although I am a Laker fan

Kerry Wood: Came into the majors as a great young player, and has severely fallen off from his earlier status, and some people still call him a great pitcher.

Jim Edmonds: His mouth ran him out of Anaheim and he is a whiny bitch.

He doesn't play defense too well, and I can't warrant his big contract considering he isn't a complete player. As much as it pains me to say it, your boy Abreu is much, much more of a complete player than A-Rod.

It's not about being a complete player, it is about being a good player. Right now, only Brian Roberts is better in the American League.

In the AL, yes A-Rod is a good player, but the reasons I don't like him are because he's paid so much, could be so much better as a defensive player and I don't like the way ESPN verbally blows him every time his face is on my television screen.

Like: Tayshaun Prince (I'm a Pacers fan, aren't I supposed to hate him?)

Dislike: Antoine Walker, Andrei Kirelenko
