What in the hell are all you people talking about?

The XBox 360 fanboys and PS3 fanboys each have hardons for their respective systems.

So of course they must make that apparent by dissing the opposing systems in this thread.

It's all nonsense, really.

I've always loved Nintendo the most, ever since I was a kid, but fuck stupid fanboy behaviour. All 3 systems will no doubt offer great titles, just as in the current generation, and I want all 3. It still seems too early, though...

Personally, I like all three systems, but of those, the Xbox offers the best features. (Graphics, custom soundtracks, Live play, and no memory cards.) I can't see the next gens being any different.

I'll probaly just stack up on the soon to be cheap Xbox and PS2 games while everyones going crazy over the NextGen release, and wait until the consoles are at least under 300 before I get one.

Jobber knew that, because he's contributing to it.

The term "fanboy" is supremely ghey.

The 360 will be fine, but MS is doing a horrible job of promotion and marketing right now. They should never have shown Perfect Dark in its current form. Microsoft can do a lot better than this.

And Peter Moore seems like he's in way over his head. Jobber's doing a far better job of explaining the supposed vision for the X-Box 360 than he is.

Jobber's right about the PS3 being more of the same right now, though.

Well, I have a slight Xbox bias only because I enjoy the hard drive and all the modding developments it's brought about. I'm not that big of a Halo fan (the whole universe doesn't seem much deeper than your usual Id Software sci-fi shooter game, wherein the story is paper thin and used only to explain why you're blasting shit.) I also only own two Live games and only play one of them rarely, the other never. I own all three consoles and have the most software for the PS2. I'm also greatly enjoying my PSP, so *shrug*

I'm strongly anti-bullshit, though, and Sony is pumping even bullshit into the atmosphere with these faked Killzone videos, Powerpoint frames talking about how PS3 is "OMFG 20 TIMES MORE POWERFUL THAN ANYTHING THE TESTERS PASSED OUT FROM THEIR RAGING ERECTIONS" instead of a more honest number, and likely spreading rumors about devs jumping ship that people keep repeating ad nauseum.

I'm simply highly skeptical of Sony's bullshit because of the bullshit we saw before like "PS2 can render Toy Story in real-time" and "SEVENTY MILLION POLYGONS AT ONCE" (which turned out to be seventy million square, unshaded, untextured polygons.)

They laid off the bullshit-o-rama for the PSP for the most part, though, so who knows, but I've seen this kind of unrealistic pipe-dream numbers from them during E3 time before.

E3 2005: PS3 Price Revealed?

One of the most expensive consoles ever created, according to Japanese reports.

by Matt Casamassina

May 17, 2005 - According a an article published in the May 17th edition of Japan's Mainichi Shimbun, the PlayStation 3 could be one of the most expensive mass-market videogame consoles ever created. Officials from Sony apparently told the newspaper that PlayStation 3s would sell in Japan for "less than 50,000 yen each." That translates to about $465 US dollars.

Sony unveiled its next-generation console at the Electronics Entertainment Expo 2005. The beast of a machine utilizes the powerful Cell processor, a custom-designed graphics chip by Nvidia, and 512MBs of RAM for a quantum leap in performance. The system will also be the first-ever to support high-def movie-playback out of the box, taking advantage of the upcoming Blu-ray Disc format.

Sony claims that PS3 will be roughly 35 times more powerful than PS2. If Mainichi Shimbun is correct, gamers will be asked to pay a hefty price for the high-end functionality.

IGN was unable to validate this news with Sony officials. Stay tuned for more as the story breaks.

That better be able to do my taxes for me and make some coffee. I know some people who would be willing to pay that but that is alot of money.

So what's the best site for E3 coverage this year? IGN? Gamespot? 1UP?

http://sports.ign.com/articles/613/613583p1.html

Here's stuff on the new Madden. I basically liked what I saw. Though the Superstar mode seems a little superfluous, I like that the D will adjust to a receiver's route if he uses one too often and that the Truck Stick for the O balances out the Hit Stick. I'd like EA to take some ideas from ESPN and add both a VIP profile and the smooth animations their games had (which looked more natural than Madden, IMO.)

I just got back from E3 a short time ago. Once I get something to eat (first meal of the day) and upload the pics, I'll post links along with a brief synopsis of my experience. Most of it can't be put into words. It was an even better experience than the greatness that was WrestleMania 21.

Nice of Tecmo to name a game after the band responsible for the worst hit single of this decade so far.

E3's first day was an overwhelming experience. I was there from 11 AM-5 PM and never stopped having fun. I thought WrestleMania 21 was great, but this topped it.

It was a literal gaming paradise. Almost everything I could possibly imagine was there. However, there were more than a few titles that I was interested in which were only shown in video form (including quite a few that were posted in this thread).

I got to meet the almighty Seanbaby and Dan Hsu from EGM and got pictures with them. I also had pics taken of me with various booth babes, as well as a variety of shots of different displays. In total, I ended up with I believe 47 shots from Day 1 of E3.

As far as swag, I only ended up with the official E3 Day 1 guide, 6-7 different magazines, a few coasters thrown out during Namco's Katamari presentation, and a shirt featuring the new True Crime game, which is an XL and is thus 3 sizes too big for me. Oh yeah, I got a card with my picture (taken in front of the 1up.com backdrop) and name from, you guessed it, 1up.com, and I got a "I <3 1up.com" necklace that lights up and flashes blue.

Games that I remember playing:

* Sigma Star Saga (GBA)

* Soul Calibur III (PS2)

* We Love Katamari (PS2)

* Destroy All Humans! (PS2)

* Burnout Revenge (PS2)

* Madden NFL 2006 (Xbox)

* NCAA Football 2006 (Xbox)

* Gunstar Super Heroes (GBA)

* Yoshi's Topsy Turvy (GBA)

* Sonic something or other (DS)

* Shadow the Hedgehog (PS2)

* Donkey Kong Country 3 (GBA)

* DDR Ultramix 3 (Xbox)

* DDR Extreme 2 (PS2)

* DDR Mario Mix (GameCube)

* Phantasy Star Universe (PS2)

* Area 51 (PS2)

* Fable: The Lost Chapters

* Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi (Xbox)

* Conker: Live and Reloaded (Xbox)

* InuYasha fighting game (PS2)

* Rainbow Six: Lockdown (PS2)

I know there were more, but I can't remember right now. I'm too tired. A lot of the games that I didn't play, I did watch others play. I didn't want to spend too much time in any one area, and I pretty much covered the whole building.

I plan on spending a lot of time tomorrow waiting in line to play all that stuff at the Nintendo booth that I missed out on, as well as some Xbox 360. I'll also be checking out the Tony Hawk demonstration and I'll be lining up for the autograph sessions with Edge and Stacy Keibler of WWE.

E3's first day was incredible, and I can't wait to go back for the next two. The guy who hooked me up with the pass offered to register me for next year, so hopefully this will become an annual tradition.

Just to let you know, this piece of shit digital camera software won't let me upload, so unfortunately, I won't be able to post pictures until at least tomorrow. I've spent 2 hours fussing with it already tonight. Sorry about that.

I'll be back tomorrow with another update and, hopefully, pictures from both days.

* Destroy All Humans! (PS2)

How is this? It's a rather unique concept by what I've heard but I've tried to ignore the major media's preview hype for it becuase they'll always slobber over any kind of quirky game (Evil Genius turned out not to be nearly as good as everyone thought.)

* Shadow the Hedgehog (PS2)

You poor soul. If you need therapy to get over the "omg sega wtf r u doing" experience, sit back and ask me to tell you about the Master System and it's software library. You'll feel better.

I'll be lining up for the autograph sessions with Edge

Shoot on him.

Translation: Yet another non-standard sized DVD format?

Well, it plays DVDs, so don't think so.

Oh, and we have a subtitle for the new Zelda game:

http://home.comcast.net/%7Elazie4351/NintendoE3.jpg

Just incase the pic doesn't work:

Here's a partial list of Nintendo's 2006 lineup

Gamecube

------------

Batallion Wars

Dance Dance Revolution Mario Mix

Donkey Konga 2

Mario Party 7

Pokemon XD (a full fledged Pokemon RPG)

Super Mario Strikers (a soccer title)

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess

Nintendo DS

--------------

Advance Wars

Animal Crossing

Mario and Luigi 2

Mario Kart DS

Metroid Dread (a 2D Metroid Adventure)

Metroid Prime Pinball

Nintendo Tetris

Touch Golf

Game Boy Advance

-----------------------

Donkey Kong Country 3

Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones

Mario Tennis Advance

Not sure about that "2006" thing, since Donkey Konga 2 is coming out a lot sooner, and the new Zelda should be this year.

Metroid Dread? Well, hopefully it blows away Fusion and Zero Mission.

BUMP:

Got my Game Informer today. That scan's all correct.

But GI are still run by f'ing morons. They think June is the 4th month of the year, and decided to interview the guy who runs G4.

New interview up about Zelda: TTP.

http://cube.ign.com/articles/616/616559p1.html

Oh, and for anybody who was saying "LINK TURNS INTO A WEREWOLF OMG LAMENESS..."

"IGN: So is Link's transformation based on a day/night system?

Eiji Aonuma: No, actually in this game when Link enters the Twilight Realm he transforms into the wolf. I think there may have been some inspiration for the schematic elements of the moon rising and someone transforming into the wolf originally, but that's actually not part of the game system....

As to why he actually becomes a wolf rather than some other creature, obviously Link in every game is a hero. We thought a wolf was what a hero might be in animal form. We kind of decided that wolves are creatures with a certain mysticism in all cultures and they're also very heroic type creatures as well. In that sense, we really felt that the wolf was best suited to an animal representation of the hero."

So, very similar to his transformation in LttP, apparently. Lot of information on that aspect, too.

Reggie Fils Aime was featured in a pretty cool interview for Gamespot. EVERYONE thought THIS WAS GONNA BE the megaton, where more info would be released, but nothing new. He pimped Game Boy Micro, and pimped Revolution. They asked him about the Nintendo ON video that appeared before E3, and he said that guy better call Nintendo, because he knows how to put a video out there for hype.

They asked him about the Revolution controller, and they said they have the final build done, and have everything set, but they don't want to release because they think the competition will start stealing ideas.

I agree with Reggie. ONCE NINTENDO started putting new features onto the controller, the rest of the competition NEEDED it as well. Nintendo puts out the Rumble Pak, what happens? DUAL SHOCK is created, and people keep putting Sony over for such a great job. The control stick on the N64 controller was made. What happens? Two joy sticks were added onto the PS controllers, which to me are the WORST because they are flimsy and unresponsive. XBOX later put it on there as well. The controller is gonna be a TECHNICAL masterpiece! Just think about it! It's seems like such a new concept, that they decided to put the 4 GCN controller ports and even GCN Memory card slots in, because you can't play GCN games with this new controller! It's already been proven you can play NES, and N64 games on it (not sure about SNES yet), and of course, GCN.

I WANNA SEE THE CONTROLLER!!!
