WrestlingFan4Ever Posted May 24, 2005 Report Posted May 24, 2005 HBK supposedly injured his knee last week at a house show. There hasn't been any real updates on him since. Does anyone know anything? Maybe Meltzer or Keller updated his status in their respective newsletters? Thanks.
iggymcfly Posted May 24, 2005 Report Posted May 24, 2005 Well, I don't have any real news, but Edge did say that he "put HBK on the shelf", so I assume he's not coming back any time real soon.
Hunter's Torn Quad Posted May 24, 2005 Report Posted May 24, 2005 I think he was wrestling Christian, and his knee went out and they had to end things early. It's serious enough that he was taken off the house show the next night and he was in serious pain. I don't know for sure how long he'll be out, but I have heard that there is a real chance he is going to need surgery, and that could put him out for anything up to eight months, depending on how bad things are. They've written him out by attributing his injury to a concussion he got from getting hit in the head by Edge's case.
UZI Suicide Posted May 24, 2005 Report Posted May 24, 2005 I wouldn't be surprised if HBK hangs it up for good. He really has nothing left to do and aside from the program with Angle has been stale for quite a while now. Unless he comes back and then turn him heel and send him to Smackdown, I think he should retire.

Hopefully they could get Brock to sign for RAW (that would be ideal). If not, transfer some name talent from SD to RAW who has never been on RAW before. Any ideas?

Guest Redhawk Posted May 24, 2005 Report Posted May 24, 2005 I wouldn't say there's nothing left for him to do. I can see any or all of the following storylines happening with HBK before he's done. And it's not like I'd want to see some of these, but WWE might wanna see them... HBK v. Hulk Hogan HBK v. Undertaker ("one more time") HBK v. Triple H ("one last time") HBK v. Vince HBK v. Booker T HBK v. RVD (they did it once, but not a whole feud) HBK v. Orton (legend killer; did they do this already? Not sure) HBK v. Flair ("once and for all, again") HBK v. Benoit HBK v. Eddie Guerrero HBK v. Edge HBK v. Christian
Guest audio_enslaved Posted May 24, 2005 Report Posted May 24, 2005 I'm a huge shawn michaels fan, so I certainly hope that he doesn't retire. I think he'll rebound again from this injury and continue to at least this next WM. Audio Enslaved
Guest *KNK* Posted May 24, 2005 Report Posted May 24, 2005 The only thing left for me to find appealing about Shawn is another match with Benjamin where he firmly puts him over(wishful thinking) and maybe another "dream" match with Eddy Guerrero. everything else on that list above has been done and in same instances, on more then one occasion.
Guest Redhawk Posted May 25, 2005 Report Posted May 25, 2005 That's never stopped WWE before. You see who Batista is fighting AGAIN next month.
Promoter Posted May 25, 2005 Report Posted May 25, 2005 At first HBK vs. Mcmahon seemed out of place in that list, but I can definitely see HBK trying to regain some respect for Montreal by squaring off against Vince Mcmahon. I could see Vince and HBK thinking about doing this.
Guest netslob Posted May 25, 2005 Report Posted May 25, 2005 i think the real news here is that he was actually working a house show.
WrestlingFan4Ever Posted May 25, 2005 Author Report Posted May 25, 2005 "i think the real news here is that he was actually working a house show." dude, he has been working a full house show schedule since around the end of 2003........where have you been????
Guest Rrrsh Posted May 25, 2005 Report Posted May 25, 2005 Shawn v Eddie, Rey, London and Benjerman shoudl all be fueds before he has "done it all"
Kahran Ramsus Posted May 25, 2005 Report Posted May 25, 2005 Shawn should never be a tippy-top guy again, but he's an asset to the show. Just keep him away from HHH. That feud has been done more than Yanks/Sawx.

That feud has been done more than Yanks/Sawx. The problem with that is if Shawn really is out for around 8 months, that puts his return near the Royal Rumble, and you know that Hunter is going to want to headline a WM with what, in his mind, is the modern day version of Flair v Steamboat. In any event, they will feud again at some point.
Guest Dumb Monkey Posted May 25, 2005 Report Posted May 25, 2005 Shawn v Eddie, Rey, London and Benjerman shoudl all be fueds before he has "done it all" ...

You know, for two guys that have been together for so long and have been wrestling each other off and on since 1996, they really don't mesh well at all. The only real good singles match between the two that I can think of was the one on RAW in December 2003. The HIAC and Three Stages of Hell matches in particular were brutal. Nothing good can come from another HHH/HBK feud. I would love to see HBK/Guerrero at XXII though.

Their Raw match is tremendously overrated, and their Three Stages Of Hell and HIAC matches were excruciatingly dull and monotonously boring. Shawn v Eddie would rock, though.

Thier RAW match was the 3rd best match on 03 and their HiaC macth is STUPIDY underrated around here. Yah, it took to long, but it get WAY to much shit on here.

He's good at that, but he can't carry the promotion any more. I actually wouldn't mind Shawn/Batista for a month rather than going with yet another Batista/HHH match.
Guest Redhawk Posted May 25, 2005 Report Posted May 25, 2005 So how did you guys think the HHH-HBK SummerSlam match was? The "not a sanctioned match" one?
Si82 Posted May 25, 2005 Report Posted May 25, 2005 HBK v. Triple H ("one last time") How mant times have they ended this feud already?
Shanghai Kid Posted May 25, 2005 Report Posted May 25, 2005 Well Shawn has said that he's not interested in carrying the World Title any time soon, so he's definetly an asset to the show since he really hasn't lost any credibility yet.
WrestlingFan4Ever Posted May 25, 2005 Author Report Posted May 25, 2005 I'm hoping for an eventual Rockers feud.
Dandy Posted May 25, 2005 Report Posted May 25, 2005 This really sucks as I was looking forward to a rumored Rockers reunion, followed by the speculated Janetty heel turn and feud. And as mentioned, HBK vs. Eddie feud would own.
WrestlingFan4Ever Posted May 25, 2005 Author Report Posted May 25, 2005 But we still don't know the severity of his knee injury. I'm sure Meltzer or Keller have given updates in their newsletters. Anyone here subscribe?
