CBright7831 0 Report post Posted May 26, 2005 What are some great movies that you have never seen? For me it would be: Taxi Driver Casablanca Citizen Kane Ed Wood Lawrence of Arabia Shichinin no samurai (Seven Samurai) The Treasure of the Sierra Madre I've always meant to see these movies, but have never got around to it. I know what some say, the video rental store is my friend, but would Blockbuster really have Citizen Kane, TTotSM, Laurence of Arabia, or Casablanca? What are some great films, considered by many to be the greatest movies of all time that you have not seen?
Hank Kingsley 0 Report post Posted May 26, 2005 The Godfather Part II, which I've had from Netflix for a week but haven't gotten around to watching yet. The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly 12 Angry Men The Wild Bunch His Girl Friday (on the way from Netflix, actually)
spman 0 Report post Posted May 26, 2005 I've honestly never seen any of the films people consider to be amongst the classics of Cinema ie: Casablanca, Gone with the Wind, The Godfather, Citizen Kane, etc. I should probobly check them out one of these days. razazteca 0 Report post Posted May 26, 2005 Probably 70% of the "best movie ever" list. I will try to make an effort to watch Aguirre: the Wrath of God, just because of the stories of how crazy the lead actor was.
Yuna_Firerose 0 Report post Posted May 26, 2005 Citizen Kane, TTotSM, Laurence of Arabia, or Casablanca I know 'Family Video' does, if one is near you. They have a Classics section. As for "great" videos I have yet to see........none. Because I don't believe the critics or the general populace. Just because a certain number of people say its great, does not mean that it would be for me. For instance... 'Around the Bend'. Scored awfully fuckin' low on rottentomatoes, yet it is one of the best movies of the year {'04}.
Kahran Ramsus 0 Report post Posted May 26, 2005 12 Angry Men A Clockwork Orange The Birds The Exorcist Captain Blood The Great Escape The French Connection I've always meant to see these movies, but have never got around to it. I know what some say, the video rental store is my friend, but would Blockbuster really have Citizen Kane, TTotSM, Laurence of Arabia, or Casablanca? They should. But if they don't sometimes you can catch them on TV. Lawrence of Arabia in particular is on lots. I first saw The Manchurian Candidate on one of those movie channels. Jericholic82 0 Report post Posted May 26, 2005 wait, I think I watched exorcist in full as a kid, but don't remember it all. I have also never seen Titanic and don't plan on it. as well as all of the lord of the rings films.
notJames 0 Report post Posted May 27, 2005 Most of AFI's and Time's top 100 films, although I have seen most of the ones mentioned already: Taxi Driver Ed Wood Citizen Kane 12 Angry Men The Wild Bunch A Clockwork Orange The Birds The Exorcist (both versions) Tried watching Casablanca once, but got, um? "distracted" by the person with whom I was watching it. Same goes for Naked Lunch, albeit a different distraction. Lesson learned: never watch a movie you really want to see with someone who gives you a woody. And for the record, I'm not sure just how great a film Naked Lunch is supposed to be, because after five minutes, I was completely lost. And I even read the book. Guest El Satanico Report post Posted May 27, 2005 would Blockbuster really have Citizen Kane, TTotSM, Laurence of Arabia, or Casablanca? Unless it's a small store with a limited selection, I can't see why they wouldn't If your area has a good library system, you could probably find them there as well.
