Fuck Bryan Singer for starting this whole goddamn snowball effect.

He shouldn't be forced to do the movie, and he said he would still do it if Fox was willing to wait until after Superman anyways.

It is the studio's responsibility to higher a proper replacement and it seems like they haven't done it. They damaged Daredevil by mucking around too much with it (compare the DC with the TC) and they seem to be doing the same thing here.

From Newsarama.com:

With last week’s announced departure of X3 director Matthew Vaughn, a mutant-tinged vacuum was created. Today, Variety confirmed that the director’s seat for the third X-Men film installment will be filled by Brett Ratner. According to the trade, the director of Rush Hour among other films, is eyeing an August production start, with no change in the film’s planned Memorial Day 2006 opening. Variety also stated that Ratner was on the short list of directors for the first X-Men film, which went to Bryan Singer.

The report also confirms that Lost star Maggie Grace will play Kitty Pryde in the film

Why would Fox put one of its most promising franchises in the hands of a below average director like Brett Ratner? It's just so illogical.

If the movie bombs then Hugh Jackman gets a ton of blame, too. He's producing the film and he has final approval on the Director. But hopefully Rattner won't mess it up, specially if he stays away from the actual script.

Aint it Cool News is reporting that Brett Ratner is a possibility. I hope to God not.

Holy fucking shit. That's the worst news ever.

No, that would be if Joss Whedon was writing and directing.

If they're killing off someone, here's hoping it's Storm. In the comics, she's vital, in the movie, she's worthless.

I'm strangely indifferent to X3 without Singer. I have to wonder if the refusal to wait is because Marvel isn't happy at his taking on a DC franshise.

I'm trying to get over Vinnie Jones as Juggernaut. I'm not too up on X-Men lore, but isn't Juggernaut supposed to be a huge unstoppable destroying machine? Vinnie's great at playing the thug and all, but I don't see him in this.

And those spoilers make this movie sound like ass. A death in a movie franchise is sometimes necessary to open up new plots and all, but 3? And apparently major characters? Overkill. And an inappropriate sex scene. I'm thinking Nightcrawler/Kitty.

Dude- it's FOX. What did you expect?

All I can hope for is that Ratner makes this into a great movie, despite our now-low expectations.

I can only hope that this turns out like Electra- really bad previews, but th actual movie was actually decent. (Though most of you won't agree with me on that...)

I hope that asshole that directed "Bloodrayne" and some other stupid fucking video game movie ("House of the Dead?") does this, just so I don't have to see any morew fucking comic book movies.

Seriously. It's not 1991 anymore. Once Fantastic Four does a shitty box office (guaranteed) I want it to slow down.

Hey Conspiracy Victim,

The Juggernaut is not a huge muscular man by nature.

There's a crystal, the "Cytorak Crystal" I think its spelled that powers up he who claims it. This is what makes Cain Marko (Juggernaut) the force he is.

Hey Lil Naith,

Elektra was a shitty movie.

HOWEVER, it was a pretty decent comic book movie. Not as *star studded* or *crazy effects*-sprayed, but a much better overall FILM than X-Men 1, X-Men 2, Spider-Man 1, Daredevil, The Punisher, Blade, Blade 2, Alien Vs. Predator, Constantine, Blade 3, Hellboy, The Hulk, and The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.

I like Spidey 2 more tho.

OK thanks. Everytime I've seen him in the cartoons or on videogames he's always this hugely muscular guy with a huge salad bowl on his head to block out Xavier. Never really did figure it out.

Plus, I read an article saying that Vinnie was donning the ubiquitous rubber suit for the role. I guess regular Vinnie can be the "before" pictures.
