iggymcfly Posted June 6, 2005 Report Posted June 6, 2005 It's going to be a face, (to play off of heel Jericho on the Highlight reel), and it's going to be a big name. I say it's either RVD or Undertaker.
Mole Posted June 6, 2005 Report Posted June 6, 2005 For those of you with questions about the format of the draft, here's what's been announced thus far: For the next four Raw shows (starting tonight) and the next four SmackDowns, the lottery will take place with one pick unveiled each night. On the fourth week of each show, TWO picks will be announced. This means that a total of 10 wrestlers (5 from Raw, 5 from SD) will be drafted. Also during the lottery month, the GMs are free to trade wrestlers between shows. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Ohh okay, thanks. I like how they are doing it over the next four shows. It makes the viewer turn in everyweek to see who goes where. This is the first Raw in a LONG ASS TIME where I want to watch the show. The past year or so, I'll tune into it just to check out what is going on. But this week I'll actually turn to it at 9 and watch most of the show. Well, atleast until they do the draft.
Downhome Posted June 6, 2005 Report Posted June 6, 2005 Screw it, I am starting to think it might actually be John Cena.
Guest Fook Posted June 6, 2005 Report Posted June 6, 2005 No one's brought up the aspect of trading yet. It'll be interesting to see which wrestlers the company thinks (or wants the fans to think) are worth more. The trading aspect could also add to the storylines. Christian wants to go to SD so he can face Cena for the WWE title. If he's not drafted, we can see him approaching Bischoff every week asking to be traded. Also, if that happens, Christian doesn't have to be separated from Tomko. They could go over as a package deal.
Dimensions Posted June 6, 2005 Report Posted June 6, 2005 If Sandman makes an appearance on the show, will the sacrifice some HHH promo time for his entrance?
Guest Dale Earnhardt Posted June 6, 2005 Report Posted June 6, 2005 Wouldn't it had been better if WWE had used the contract signing between Dave and Hunter to ensure that the match would happen regardless of the draft? As a way to throw in a "Will HHH or Batista be drafted?" like scenario. However, the contract signing would ensure that the match will happen regardless of where either man is. The logic that WWE adopted for it kind of "exposes" the draft a bit, seeing as we know that neither HHH and Batista will be drafted.
Guest *KNK* Posted June 6, 2005 Report Posted June 6, 2005 They haven't even announced WHEN the match would occur either.
GreatWhiteNope Posted June 6, 2005 Author Report Posted June 6, 2005 Save the enterance for the PPV. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah, I'd be surprised if RVD was on tonight and they didn't save his entrance for the Pay Per View. On the other hand, tonight we'll see what music Sandman comes out to. They could use a funky generic theme and swerve us all.
Guest Dale Earnhardt Posted June 6, 2005 Report Posted June 6, 2005 They haven't even announced WHEN the match would occur either. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The graphic on RAW last week said "Vengeance" so it's been officially announced. This is just careless booking and it totally spoils the draft. It takes away the "anything can happen" feeling when the top two stars on RAW are basically eliminated from the draft.
haws bah gawd Posted June 7, 2005 Report Posted June 7, 2005 Just a quick observation. If the GM's can make trades during this month, doesnt it eliminate the purpose of a draft? Are only those drafted, eligible for trades, or can the gm's freely trade out any wrestlers they want?
vermilion Posted June 7, 2005 Report Posted June 7, 2005 I live in St. Louis and I heard a little thing on the radio regarding Fozzy. There is supposed to a RAW party at Pop's, followed by Fozzy afterwards. I'm guessing the paper has 8pm b/c that's when the RAW party would start here.
Downhome Posted June 7, 2005 Report Posted June 7, 2005 I doubt Sandman and company will even come out to any music.
CBright7831 Posted June 7, 2005 Report Posted June 7, 2005 Meltzer said that Sandman and The Dudleys should be their as part of an angle to hype their match at the PPV. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> There's a Dudleyz promo on the WWE website for the ECW PPV. It was even filmed the way some of the promos for ECW were filmed. Bubba Ray: At One Night Stand, there's only one way out of New York City. *lights match* Through the tables. *sets table on fire* D'Von: OH TESTIFY!!!!!
Guest Fook Posted June 7, 2005 Report Posted June 7, 2005 I could see them doing what they did at Mind Games in 96 and have Sandman be in the crowd.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted June 7, 2005 Report Posted June 7, 2005 Im gonna go out on a limb and say that Carlito is drafted tonight. Jericho/Carlito segment would be awesome.
Conspiracy_Victim Posted June 7, 2005 Report Posted June 7, 2005 My, Eric looks like he's about to piss himself. Dude, don't tell me Cena's jumping. edit: Actually, after a moment's reflection, I don't think Eric would be THIS excited about Cena. I'm leaning towards Angle or JBL now.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted June 7, 2005 Report Posted June 7, 2005 Right out of the gates.. Bischoff seems like he's gonna blow a gasket or something.
Exslade ZX Posted June 7, 2005 Report Posted June 7, 2005 FINALLY. Someone talks to someone, and notices the camera, and gives it that sort of 'damn, why is it here' look. And I guess it is Kurt.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted June 7, 2005 Report Posted June 7, 2005 This is a big set up. Its probably..uh..Matt Morgan. Eric: I love guys that Sttt...ttttt....ttt...utter.
Conspiracy_Victim Posted June 7, 2005 Report Posted June 7, 2005 C'mon folks place your bets, spin the wheel make a deal. I'm gonna have to go with Angle.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted June 7, 2005 Report Posted June 7, 2005 628th RAW! that doesn't seem like a lot.
Downhome Posted June 7, 2005 Report Posted June 7, 2005 Watch them try and say Brock is still from SD, and he's able to be drafted, heh.
Dimensions Posted June 7, 2005 Report Posted June 7, 2005 Fozzy got a bigger pop than the draft lottery.
