He had a terrible excuse too.

"Yeah, I was detained by airport security."

*Old Man McMahon busts through the door wearing a stained wife beater and dual wielding pump shotguns*

"TERRORIST!"

What amazing news.

It's just too bad that Stephanie will never be ribbed.

That's not true... Vince has been ribbed a few times before. I believe the best one people played on him was they filled up his office at Titan Tower with various farm animals. I think Stephanie is fair game.

Vince likes to think of himself as one of the boys so is probably not too worried about ribs. However he'd probably go apeshit if someone was tormenting his little girl.

When is this bullshit with JBL going to stop?  This guy, is consistently pushed by WWE, and he continues to pull the most childish, assholish pranks backstage, and nothing ever happens to the guy.  No reprimand, no slap on the hand, not even a simple tongue-lashing, and this guy he decided to bully is going to take all the punishment.

JBL, who is supposed to be an adult, acts like nothing more than a 10-year old school yard bully, and I continue to have zero respect for him.

Sure, there are 2 sides to every story, and Conaway was a backstabbing jackass for doing that spy crap for Stephanie McMahon, but something has to be done about JBL as well.

At least kill this god-like push he has been getting for over a year, and/or de-push OJ for his role in this.

You seem to forget that JBL is a wrestling god and that you need him as your WWE Champion. When JBL turns face everybody will be cheering his name. How dare you disrespect him. Lets start now, JBL, JBL, JBL . . . . :headbang:

Wow, you do NOT lie to your boss after getting ribbed. I'm sure they could deal with it if he was ribbed, but to lie and cover your tracks is just unnecessary and stupid.

He was probably worried that it'd reflect bad on his character to say he went against a wrestler in a drinking contest.

I do believe I actually have a small amount of respect for JBL and OJ now. Who'd have thought it?

Vince believes he's above the boys, not one of them. I read that somewhere (coulda been in a shoot interview review), where Shane was getting too chummy with the boys and Vince told him to keep a distance.

When I first read the title for this thread, I could have sworn it was about Steph getting pissed off over the quality of catering.

Vince allowed himself to get ribbed and didn't fire the culprit, went in the ring even though he's head of the company, he no sold a quad tear, taken chair shorts... I think he does try be one of the boys but at the same time set an example.

Vince does (or at one time did) want to be one of the boys. One of the more famous incidents of this is Vince taking LOD's Doomsday Device in the middle of a nightclub to show the wrestlers that he was one of them.

What part of this rib is she mad at?

The drinking contest? The gay porn? The lying? I really can't figure out what got her panties all twisted, compared to some of the bigger issues that have come & gone.

this is freakin awesome.  btw how did the observer find out about this. was meltzer hiding in the trashcan again?

lol@steph mad at catering

Meltzer talks to a ton of wrestlers, creative team members, and even some people in WWE's upper management. These days, he's very well-sourced.

Just off the top of my head, he talks to Jim Ross, Benoit, Foley, Cornette, and Heyman on a regular basis.

I've heard about that, apparently it happened in the early 90s but I thought it was in the parking lot after a club and he also took the Sharpshooter and full nelson and some other finishers from guys at the time to kind of get their respect and show even though he wasn't a wrestler he could take what they dished out. I personally think he must have been really fucking drunk if it's true.

I think it's funny he got in trouble while JBL and Orlando are seemingly getting off free despite basically calling the guy out on a drinking contest, making him look like a fag and causing him to miss his flight due to a hangover. I mean, even if he told the truth, he'd have likely been in deep shit.

wait... would he get in trouble for ordering a gay movie? I figure that was just an added joke to amuse themselves and the boys.

that would be funny if one of the wwe rules is "Don't be gay!!!" (like stan yelling at his dog on South Park)

Ok, thanks that makes sense. But why would Ross and Cornette risk their jobs by letting secrets out like that?
