Whatever, I don't ask you to drop your jaw, but if "IT WAS OFF THIS GUY, WHO CARES" is all you have to add, then don't say anything.

Buck: "GRAND SLAM MANNY RAMIREZ" and meanwhile some Yankee fan would say "It's just CARL PAVANO, it's not a big deal!" it's feels like a hippocrat is in this thread.

Um, no.

The posts would be similar to the ones last night, as in, ranting on Pavano.

I wasn't talking to you, I was talking to the other... but I can't get a simple answer since Yankees fans think they always know everything and are right about everything.

You said: "Meanwhile, some Yankee fan would say"

So you were talking in general about Yankee fans. I don't think I'm always right. But I DO know that if Manny hits a HRer of Pavano, I'm ranting on Pavano, not saying how easy it was for Manny to hit the HRer.

I find these "Yankees fan" posters as Anglesault's disciples in my humble opinion.

As a Jays Fan, and mostly a follower of the AL Easy due to geographical restrictions, does anyone else think Hinske is overrated?

We're expecting him to be as good as he was in 2002. He's not a letdown, but he can't match 2002 again.

Just my nickel with three pennies back.

remember its Buck and McCarer possibly the worst announcing team to ever call the postseason, they alternate between kissing diffrent players asses. Usually in the playoffs buck and mcarver come across as though they hate the yanks anyway.

first GS or no they won the game thats what matters to me, sure I'm happy for him but in the long run it wasnt who hit it or who he hit it off it was the fact that it happened effectively ending the game in the 6th.

You know how I hate being lumped together in a single profile as a yankee typical fan.

but some of these posts dont help me.

whatever go team wooo.

do we have to freakin argue about every little point here? chill and stop the :boxing:

it's so lame.

Yankee fans love to act like they're the rich kid who gets picked on just for having money, but the truth is, the team gets the most attention of any other squad in baseball and I'd say, they're easily MLB favorites. Hell, Randy Johnson coming to the team suddenly made them automatic World Series participants according to the majority of the media.

^Bias is bias, why people are bias doesn't matter. I've seen about 3 weeks worth of these threads and it certainly seems like people are quicker to talk about the Yanks when they're fucking up as opposed to when they're winning.

Which explains why they talk about them? When I'm sick of something I don't talk about it every week.

Quite simply, the Yankees imploding is more interesting than the Yankees winning. The 1999 and 2000 World Series were dull, dull, dull. Suddenly they lose badly to the Angels in 2002, flop versus the Fish in 2003, and are shocked in 2004 by the Red Sox. Those stories were interesting.

I always thought 01 was the best WS ever.

And wait, your telling me NO ONE out of NYC cared about the 200 WS?

:D

Sure, there was some interest. But the 2000 Yankees were an 87 win team, and the Mets were a wild card entrant. The Yankees were better than their record, but the two teams were frankly not of high caliber. And the Yankees disposed of the Mets fairly easily, in five games. By that point, we had seen three consecutive world series go five games or less.

I still don't know how the Mets made the World Series in 2000 with a starting outfield of Benny Agbayani, Jay Payton and Timo Perez. The 99 Mets were a much better team and might have given the Yankees a better series.

Because the St. Louis Cardinals suffered a horrific collapse in the postseason. Rick Ankiel came up with a sudden case of Steve Blass disease. Garret Stephenson suffered a serious elbow injury in the previous series and missed the next year. On top of that, the Mets' top pitchers were lefties Al Leiter and Mike Hampton, and the Cardinals' top hitters were Will Clark (lefty), Jim Edmonds (lefty), J.D. Drew (lefty), Fernando Vina (lefty), and Ray Lankford (lefty). The Mets ran into a dream matchup that year in the NLCS.

Its amazing the Yankees even lasted 7 games in 01. Beside tieing the games in four and five in the 9th, didn't they hit like .189 as a team in that series? Sure RJ and Schilling had a combined 5 starts, but .189 BA is still pathetic.

Jeter with his first grand salami!  WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Who's got the longest streak now?

I *think* its Varitek.

If I'm right, you remember stuff like that after YES shows THE GRAPHIC~! everytime Jeter comes to the plate with the bases loaded.

I figured I would pass this along.

David Bell is now the current active leader in bases loaded at bats without a grand slam, with 118. Here is the leaderboard...

David Bell, Phi (118)

Jason Varitek, Bos (115)

Jose Vizcaino, Hou (110)

Alex Gonzalez, TB (109)

Eric Young, SD (108)

Orlando Cabrera, LAA (93)

Sean Casey, Cin (80)

Desi Relaford, Col (64)

Considering Sean Casey is one of the few players who truly seems to come through in the clutch every time, I am surprised to see him on this list.

I thought its impossible to determine clutchness?

Oh come on, you brought that upon yourself.

"God bless America....we'll put a boot in your ass if you don't."

Went to Fenway today, another great start by Clement and the offense woke up from their slumber. The funniest thing I saw was a guy outside the Cask N' Flagon after the game shaking a cup of change and holding a sign that read "I won't lie, I want a beer."

Dodger pen blows the game for the second straight night and now we get to hear even more endorsements for "smartball."  Ugh.

Bear in mind the Sox only tied that game because of the "error" that should have been an out, with the runner reaching on the "error" becoming the winning run.

I can't fault Larry Young too much because we had the benefit or replay and he didn't, but it wasn't entirely the Dodger bullpen that cost them the game tonight

The guy who called the game with Morgan tonight was horrific. He thought a freaking GROUND RULE double got caught.

And whats worse. Morgan rambling on about how Moneyball doesn't work, or Morgan rambling on the awesomeness of smartball?
