Jingus 0 Report post Posted June 25, 2005 But the vast majority, if not all, of their fans are indeed "insiders" as you put it. First you said this angle was bad because the WWE would try to take advantage of it to make ROH look bad (which they won't). Now you seem to be arguing that it's bad because it won't bring in any new fans (which it probably won't, but how many angles DO bring in new fans?). So which is it? The 1st thing I had stated was that I didnt like the order of the angle. The only good thing about it was CMP leaving, in the sense that it has created heat at the moment. I cant see how it can transgress into gaining any ground though. 2ndly Ive never trusted VKM since hearing him on the stand during the steriods trail and basically think hes an asshole since Montreal. If he wants to do something he will do it. He will stop at nothing to screw somebody. Dont tell me you can trust the man. However, some people here think that VKM is the most decent person in this business. Got to see the show again and still thing that it is doesnt make and, thing it is risky and the chance of it working out is minimal (although Id love them to pull it off). Note that I said minimal and not non-existence. People have expressed doubts over it happening here. Trying to work the smarks results in you shooting it over the marks heads. Is it wrong to have more than one arguement? Cant anyone plays devils advocate and start to make sense here?
Mystery Eskimo 0 Report post Posted June 25, 2005 Of course you can play Devil's advocate, but you need to have a decent arguement. Saying that Vince would want to screw around with ROH just because he's an asshole is stupid. I dont see the whole Punk storyline as over the head of marks. Punk wins the title, and may well soon be leaving for WWE. What's so hard to understand about that? It's hardly a huge complicated plot you need backstage knowledge to follow. What's so hard to understand about that? And now everytime Punk wrestles, he's going to have tons of heat and people are going to expect to see a title change. Cant anyone plays devils advocate and start to make sense here? You can play devils advocate, and we're also allowed to dissect your arguments and call you on them. It works both ways. JustJoe2k5 0 Report post Posted July 2, 2005 I doubt Vince McMahon would waste his time putting down a promotion 99% of his fanbase doesn't know exists. C.M. Punk will likely still be allowed to defend the RoH title at RoH shows until he is going to be called up to the full-time WWE roster. Not really that big of a deal, just RoH trying to get some publicity by affiliating themselves with the promotion they swore against only a year or two ago. Jobber of the Week 0 Report post Posted July 6, 2005 I just read this thread and laughed. Zyn is so desperate to be arguementive that he's going in circles and contradicting his own logic. ROH is the greatest promotion ever and everybody knows who they are, and they suck for running "insider" angles that won't be able to draw in the casual fans they need.
