Epic Reine 0 Report post Posted June 21, 2005 Interesting question, what retired stars could come back to the squared circle if they wanted to, even if it's for a few matches? Bret Hart obviously couldn't come back if he wanted. Too many injuries. Could Ricky Steamboat or Arn Anderson come back for one last match? Lance Storm could come back to a full time schedule considering his retirement was by choice and not injury.
Guest dreamer420 Report post Posted June 22, 2005 Tommy Dreamer could probably wrestle full time again. Although the WWE is not where I would want to see him. It was sad enough watching his last run there. The Ultimate Warrior must have a few matches left in him, but there aren't too many promotions banging down his door to return. Is Goldberg retired? haws bah gawd 0 Report post Posted June 22, 2005 I would love to see Lance Storm return to the ring, but only if it was for a serious push and not to be a jobber like he was in his last run. He was very smooth in the ring at ONS, and I think he could bring a lot to WWE. Unless some TNA or some other promotion throws Goldberg a 10 mil a year contract and allows him to do 1 minute squashes everytime he wrestles, I would say hes as good as retired. Guest Kimaster1976 Report post Posted June 22, 2005 I think Randy Savage could have a hugely successful final run with WWE, even if only for a few months. He has barely worked in 5 years except for that week or so in TNA so will be fresh for maybe 1 last classic against Kurt Angle maybe.

Guest JerichosHi-Lite Report post Posted June 22, 2005 Hulk Hogan. Oh. I see "retired wrestler" and "come back" in the same sentence, I automatically think Hulk Hogan. A bunch of ECW-ers (clearly) could come back for a good run if either ECW was brought back for good, or if WWE was willing to give them a proper go. I can feel myself laughing at that last one. Honestly, nobody else really springs to mind. I'm sure Randy Savage or Lex Luger could come back if they want but I don't think anybody would really want to see it. Luger, at least. Dobbs 3K 0 Report post Posted June 22, 2005 Sting, I am assuming, since he had that run in TNA a couple years ago. I don't think his heart would be in it though. I know it sounds weird, but Michael Hayes, maybe. He had that short run with the Hardys about five years ago and actually looked like he was in really great shape. I doubt anyone is clamoring for him to come back, but as a Freebird mark, I would enjoy it, even just for one match or appearance.

Dobbs 3K 0 Report post Posted June 22, 2005 Marty apparently signed after the match with Kurt Angle, but I heard he is still fulfilling indy dates before starting with WWE. Not sure if that is true or not.

Gotta admire him for sticking to his prior commitments.
snuffbox 0 Report post Posted June 22, 2005 I gotta believe that Dean MAlenko can still work...and I wish he would. Foley, Savage, Goldberg, Austin, and Rock can still do some things if they choose to. Not that Im too interested in a few of them...

He has barely worked in 5 years except for that week or so in TNA so will be fresh for maybe 1 last classic against Kurt Angle maybe. Savage is beyond fucked- he was pretty dire in 99, looked awful in his one off comeback in 2000, abd if you'd seen him in TNA- bloody hell he must be off the steroids, he's got no physique, is almost totally bald and had to run in at the end of the match and use a sleeper hold as the finisher! Trust me you don't want Savage back- I've got a feeling he's absolutely nuts to!
Dobbs 3K 0 Report post Posted June 23, 2005 Savage...no way I'd want to see him wrestle again. Remember how he couldn't do the flying elbow properly in WCW towards the end and was injuring people by landing on their chests wrong???
The Buzz 0 Report post Posted June 26, 2005 Sting, Ultimate Warrior, Goldberg, The Rock, Austin could all do it. In the case of Austin it wouldn't be smart due to his injuries, and the rest I think would be just fine.
snuffbox 0 Report post Posted June 26, 2005 Isn't Savage on really bad terms with Vince?
Guest *KNK* Report post Posted June 26, 2005 Savage is very much buried by Vince and the company. Bruno and Bret, whom are known for thier shakey history with Vince (Bruno more so then Bret, whom is actually friendly with Vince now) weren't buried like Savage is by the company. Back to the topic Sting is most likely the only retired wrestler who could still "GO" if motivated enough and the only one who could work a prolonged series of matches and wouldn't be a one off name such as Austin. Steamboat a couple years ago said he felt like he had one more in him and looking at his work in ROH, he can still hit those crisp armbars...but I don't forsee him working a full match. MAYBE a tag team match with limited work. How about Scott Steiner? I really felt WWE dropped the ball with Steiner. They never let him truly cut loose on the mic (his main appeal in WCW post-tag teaming) and after sticking him with HHH as a FACE, they let him rot and toil with one ungodly program with Test. He wasn't horrible and slightly improved at the tail end. Lex Luger is most likely still in shape to work, just that no one really wants him. Ken Shamrock, I wouldn't mind seeing come back as a wrestler again since his shoot career is basically dead. Lance Storm is an obvious one and I honestly believe he'll be back in the ring working indy's again within a year.
Guest *KNK* Report post Posted June 26, 2005 What about that Blitzkreig fellow who retired to go work in some technical company or something? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Mainly he was so banged up he couldn't continue. He passed on the Blitzkreig moniker to Jack Evans. Whom i believe hasn't used it since his sick and near fatal neck bump earlier this year.
Hunter's Torn Quad 0 Report post Posted June 26, 2005 WCW basically killed Blitzkrieg's passion for wrestling. After having a tremendous match with Juvi to open Spring Stampede, he was almost never seen again, and was in fact out of a job before the year was out. Physically, he's always been in shape, but he doesn't have the heart for it any more. As for Luger, he can walk and talk, but that's it. Forget about him doing anything beyond punches, kicks and stationary clotheslines before he blows up after 30 seconds.

I think, if anything, Sting would take part in TNA rather than the E. What happened to him joining the E? I mean they did a desire promo for him. When Steiner joined the E, I was like, what a shitty angle with the pose downs and everything. Steiner's strength is on the mic, cutting heel promos. But hey, its the E, who dont know to captalise on strengths.

ChrisMWaters 0 Report post Posted June 27, 2005 I'd say Tazz. After he cuts back down to fighting shape, he could, if he wanted to, wrestle again. Which, before Angle was drafted, I thought they were going to do with ONS. A quick Angle/Tazz feud.
