Art Sandusky Posted July 1, 2005 Report Posted July 1, 2005 Well, not exactly. It's an E-Time Machine. I want to be able to go back to 2002, the glory times. It also resembles how society and politics behave currently, while what we have now is some weird Rule of the Beatniks shit we got going on. Perhaps this is the direction real society will take. My time trip will answer the question! Away... to JUNE 2002!
Art Sandusky Posted July 1, 2005 Author Report Posted July 1, 2005 vs WHO WOULD WIN? Brought that back from December 2003.

Guest Fishyswa Posted July 1, 2005 Report Posted July 1, 2005 When I get bored I read a book or go play basketball....
Art Sandusky Posted July 1, 2005 Author Report Posted July 1, 2005 Sooo... go do one of those, or fly a kite, or whatever the hip kid"z" do these days.
Guest Fishyswa Posted July 1, 2005 Report Posted July 1, 2005 Well if the hip kidz are doing anything other than traveling through internet time, I guess I should go enroll.
Nighthawk Posted July 1, 2005 Report Posted July 1, 2005 You ever notice how in Back to the Future, Doc types in December 25th, 0000 to witness the birth of Christ. Three things about that. One, it travels through time, not space. They'd still be in California, completely incapable of getting to Israel, and likely underwater or something. Two, it's not the day Christ was born. Three, there was no year 0. Entering a date which doesn't exist would send him to some sort of limbo from which he would never return. Doc is an idiot.

Doc is an idiot. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I thought that the DeLorean was capable of flight, as was displayed in Part II? If that's the case, he would probably have been able to take it to Israel. And as for what date he set with regards to year "0", that would just take him back 1,98-whatever years it would have taken to get to get to the birth of christ using the current calendar as we use it today. And what day was Christ actually born? It can't be January 3rd, that's what "Christmas" is traditionally celebrated in some other Catholic countries, as the days of the wise kings or something like that.

Actually, he could STILL be there for the birth of Christ. According to the calendar much of the world uses today, the date Christ was born was before the first year AD (don't even ask what AD stands for, I always forget, but something that means "in the year of our lord;" ask SP). Thus, going to year 0 would be before 1 AD, and he could witness it.

Nighthawk Posted July 2, 2005 Report Posted July 2, 2005 AD stands for anno domini. Christ was born some time in the Spring, there's no set day, probably in 6 BC.
Art Sandusky Posted July 2, 2005 Author Report Posted July 2, 2005 I've always heard sometime in March of 6bc, so yeah. Doc was wrong. It's cool though. He was just showing off his new toy, like a kid would tell you how his new Power Glove can, like, you know, work.
Art Sandusky Posted July 2, 2005 Author Report Posted July 2, 2005 Mine was a piece of crap, and I've never known anyone (in real life) that had one that worked.
CanadianGuitarist Posted July 3, 2005 Report Posted July 3, 2005 http://web.archive.org/web/*/forums.thesmartmarks.com <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I went to a random week, which became September 2002. JHawk's Raw Report referred to Terri Runnels as "Somebody Feed Terri". The irony, as far as time capsules go.

Nighthawk Posted July 3, 2005 Report Posted July 3, 2005 Eh, Christ existed. We did a huge thread about that, but I'm not in the mood for debate. Take my word for it.
Art Sandusky Posted July 3, 2005 Author Report Posted July 3, 2005 Yeah, Jesus being a real person is a pretty safe statement, no matter your beliefs.
tekcop Posted July 3, 2005 Report Posted July 3, 2005 As someone who has read a lot of athiest books pronouncing Jesus's fakeness, I have to agree. Dude was there.
Slayer Posted July 5, 2005 Report Posted July 5, 2005 "So you're telling me Christ was born six years before Christ...?"
