Smackdown VS Raw 2006

Recommended Posts

The videos are pretty sweet too.

Looks like they have licensed music in the background again. It sounds like generic nu-metal, again.

Does anyone else here, besides myself, play with the BG music off?

Does SVR 2006 have Powerman 5000 songs in it, too?

That's fucking sad.

Not sure, but in the video I saw I SWEAR I've head the song in the background [Christian vs Batista] in at least two other wrestling games, and I think one of them was Legends of Wrestling II.

Aside from improved gameplay, better online mode (perhaps with a stat cap. All those 98ers that play online suck), stats that aren't complete freakin' BS (in fact, the whole HCTP/SvR stat system is still complete rubbish in my eyes), I'd like for them to allow me to completely customize the controls.

I've gotten quite used to the Rumble Roses' control scheme (which I had to, since Yukes didn't provide a button config), so now that I am I don't think it's unreasonable to hope I can set it to the same thing on SvR2K6. It's the same friggin' development team and a similar engine, for cryin' out loud.

I want to do an on-line Elimination Chamber where each of the six wrestlers in the match is controlled by a real player playing from somewhere on-line. I don't think latency would be that big of a deal since you have to have broadband anyway.

Broadband was still laggy as hell on SvR, and that was just with two players.

I'd be plenty happy if they could even do 4 players online for tags.

Gamespy's servers suck ass.

Yeah, they need to fix it. X-Box live style. I've seen up to thirty people in a game of Halo 2 and there wasn't a lot of lag issues.

Looks good, but what I keep asking for year after year will sadly never come to life.

I want to be able to have "free reign" over my wrestler. If I want to interfere in a match, I should be able to. If I want to cut a promo before or after my match, I should be able to. I should have opetions that don't limit me to 2 scenarios that I don't want to do in the first place. I think the booking should have continuity from show to show and lead to PPV's where at least 5 feuds are blown off/furthered. Yes, I would like to be able to be the "General Manager" of sorts, where I can book matches, and such (not talking about Bischoff or Teddy, just an add on option while I already play as a wrestler). And finally, I want EVERY belt currently on the roster to be in the game, as well as EVERY wrestler on the roster when the game was being made.

If those things were made available, I almost guarantee that it would be the most profitable wrestling game of all time.

Even if it had all that shit, the game would still be shitty if it had Warzone gameplay.

I didn't post what I was thinking with that last line. I like where they are headed with gameplay and features. I wanted those "Wish List" items added to the current product, which looks great and has a pretty good engine. Not as good as No Mercy, but I'll take it.

Yukes' Rumbles Roses XX on XB360 makes me thrilled at the possibilities of a SD-style game with decent online options. Even if 360 still gets crappy WWE games, at least that one should be rock-solid...or firm, but yielding to the touch, depending on how you look at it.

IGN's list of Confirmed Superstars--there's more, these ones are definite. Kind of boring, though.

Batista, Big Show, Booker T, Carlito Caribbean Cool, Chris Benoit, Christian, the Bashams, Eddie Guerrero, Edge, Eugene, Heidenreich, Hurricane, JBL, John Cena, Kane, Kurt Angle, Randy Orton, Rene Dupree, Rey Mysterio, Ric Flair, HBK, Shelton Benjamin, Triple H, and Undertaker

It'd dated TODAY but they think Eugene is still injured...*shrug*

When this game comes out maybe Zack Malibu can give us an OVW Bashams moveset.

And it'll be the tag team Bashams with the Cabinet clothes and now The Damaja and face Doug Basham. I wonder how they will do Eugene and I can't wait to see Heidenreich :P Was Rene Dupree ever in the game before?

I want Chris Masters, Rob CONway, The Mexicools, MNM and where the hell is Rosey?

Of course, the one I'm hoping ISN'T up to date is Chavo, though I don't see how they could squeeze Kerwin in considering he's been on TV two or three times and hasn't even wrestled.

I bet you it's idiot heel Heidenreich and not awesome but terrible face Heidenreich.

That made sense, right?

No.

And I preferred heel Heidenreich. The Friend and Disasterpiece stuff just seemed perfectly demented when he was a heel.

Was Rene Dupree ever in the game before?

He was in last year's. Hopefully they're able to get in the updates for his current look.

That's 25 wrestlers down now. That's, what, 15 more regular roster spots, 5 or so for the women, and 12 or so for the legends?

EDIT: I just remembered there was only 41 total last year, not including legends. Hopefully this year's number isn't around the same.

Another thing is that I hope that they don;t go with the horrible grouping they did for the manuevers when making a CAW... Personally they should make them fully open, so if you want to make a CAW with all powerbombs, you can. I am finding it a little harder making my namesake's moveset as these new versions keep coming out.

Yeah, I'd like more freedom when assigning moves, but it also opens the door for some to just stock their CAWs with a ridiculous amount of big damage moves. It's necessary and more realistic with the way it is now. But if I'm not mistaken, there are supposed to be more move slots this year.

If anything I just want the four lists of moves combined into two big ones, eliminating the differences between, say, signature and power, with two buttons assigned to each.

these games always seem to be way off when it comes to updated rosters and wrestler looks/attires. so dont expect too much, that being said the pics indeed look sweet.

I agree with you on that. My Caws end up having suplexes and body slams as signiture moves. That doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

ugh, keep Buff Bagwell 2.0 out of that game.

I get the concept of having to take some basic moves, but the selection outright sucks in some areas... you don;t very much choice when it comes to some of the quick moves.. and yes, the signatur slots should be used for any move that you want, be it a simple suplex or a finisher... and there are some finishers that should NOT be on the list of finishers, and some moves on the basic list that should be finishers.... its wacky.

They should divide the moves better, I hated that submission had low level signature and quick moves and quick was nothing more than really shitty power and signature moves. Make quick low level, submission a step up, and signature and power should be a split of high end.

Yea, I loved the deep rosters from Revenge, WM, and No Mercy b/c I liked to book my own shows (especially with the pay-per-view feature in WM and No Mercy) and that helped out immensely.

Will this version also have the create a pay-per-view feature and will you be able to defend ACTUAL belts (World Heavyweight, US, WWE Title, etc.) in it? Just wondering, b/c I'm a mark for those things.
