Ripper 0 Report post Posted July 12, 2005 So my girl friend is giving me a ride to work this morning and as we are driving this little kitten runs in the road. She slams on the brakes and the thing runs under the car. This is a very busy road, and people go pissed but I don't give a shit, it was a cute kitty and we weren't going to run it over. So I get out and look under the car, and the freaking thing has gotten... and its hard to explain this...but in the freakin tire. Like where the tire is attached to the car, the space on the rim. He was just sitting there scared shitless. So i get down and try to get him out but I can't really reach. and he is just getting more afraid and trying to scratch me with his little claws and trying to make the hiss sound but it sounds like a pop so I start laughing at him. By now we have shut down a entire lane of Ashford Dunwoody at rush our. So then a fire and rescue guy comes up to find out the problem and I tell him and he starts trying to get the cat. But because of where the car is and the fact we can't roll, its so close to the other lane that you might get hit trying to get the cat. So when a fire truck pulls up, they shut off the other lane. So now, a entire street is shut off...at rush hour to get a kitten from the tire of our car. eventually, he gets under the car and gets it and I find all this hilarious. I wanted to keep the lil fella, but since I was on my way to work and my girl is a asshole when it comes to animals, the firemen took it. It was still trying to fight us all when we got it out. It was all of 4-5 weeks old tops. I was suprised it could walk well, let alone run under a car. So I was a hour late and have oil spots all over me for a freaking cat that I don't even get to keep. And caused a major street to get shut down by a fire truck. For a kitten.... I had a interesting morning.

Jingus 0 Report post Posted July 12, 2005 ...Ripper, you're really Superman and you've just been hiding it from us all this time, haven't you? Beating up roving gangs of preppy assholes AND saving stray kittens from Atlanta rush-hour traffic. Jesus. You're like a walking cliche of macho manliness. Ripper 0 Report post Posted July 12, 2005 Well this was a really cute kitty. Although the fireman dude was the one that really saved him, because I would be damned if I was going to lay on the ground and almost get ran over for a kitty. No matter how cute it was. Ripper - just being macho...would have laid on the ground.

Ripper 0 Report post Posted July 18, 2005 I would have wanted the one that ran in the road, mostly because that would have been a great story for later. now I have these two spastic things in my apartment.

kkktookmybabyaway 0 Report post Posted July 19, 2005 My two males will sleep all day, but whenever me and the better half come home from work they come out into the living room and wrestle for 20-30 minutes. My personal favorite is when one chases the other into another room, then the chaser becomes the chasee from the other room into the living room...

Ripper 0 Report post Posted July 19, 2005 Should I worry about them beating the shit out of each other? One always goes to the ground, grabs the others head and does that kick kick kick thing in his face. I don't want him to put out a eye or something. I have no idea what I am doing. I was a dog person.
Sideburnious 0 Report post Posted July 19, 2005 They should usually stop when one of them lets out a big load irregular meow. Thats what two of my cats usually do when it happens anyway. They should be playing. Are they related/from the same litter or did your girlfriend pick up two random kittens from two different locations?
Carnival 0 Report post Posted July 19, 2005 Are they de-clawed? If so then don't worry about it. If they aren't, like sideburns said. I've seen 2 full grown nutered males fight for like 20mins, fur was flying, it was instense, then an hour later both sleeping together on the couch. Cats just fight all the time, I've never seen a serious injury from a cat fight, unless it was 2 tom cats, then one might die. Plus they speak in tongues before the fight. It sounds like reversed english. It's fuckin freaky shit.
kkktookmybabyaway 0 Report post Posted July 20, 2005 If one doesn't want to wrestle, you'll know. Trust me. When we took in our newest stray, the other two would have NOTHING to do with him, which was sad to watch because Max (the new one) would cry because neither one of the other two wanted anything to do with him. My other male, JJ, would scream if Max got too close to him. That was six months ago. As the months went on, JJ began to warm up to him, and a few weeks ago they "bonded" and now they beat the shit out of each other, but there's no "screaming." And they always hit each other in the head with their back paws; sometimes I want to break up their wrestling matches when they get, imo, too violent, but that's what kitties do to pass the time away... They should be playing. Are they related/from the same litter or did your girlfriend pick up two random kittens from two different locations? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> They are from the same litter. They aren't declawed, and I don't imagine I would do that to them. Another thing, if they are going to be indoor cats, should I still get them neutered? I mean, it seems kinda pointless and mean. they are both boy cats, we aren't getting anymore, and they aren't going outside.
kkktookmybabyaway 0 Report post Posted July 20, 2005 Yes. Neuter them no matter what. If you don't they'll still spray and Allah doesn't like that...
